Clarence:

You are likely correct. As I recall, about 15% of the population is left handed, who knows how many of those are rifle shooters. For myself, I’m right handed, but left dyed, never could see rifle sights from the right shoulder, ergo I shot long guns left handed.

Clarence

Yes I’m sure it is simpley that they don’t sell enough of them to make it profitable or practical.

You know, I never cease to wonder, somehow or another, I do believe that barrel length might be a somewhat important spec to include in a list of attributes for a model of a firearm!

Alan

Funny you should mention that. In 30 caliber rifles, .308 Win/7.62×51 mm NATO and 30-06 I always found that 24″ long x .750″ diameter at the muzzle made up into a quite nice target rifle, one what would weigh in at 10 plus lbs., possibly heavier than one would want to drag over hill and dale, bug quite good for National Match Course type competition, and or long range, prone shooting.

Clarence

Yes most of the major brands have offered a few left handed models. However Savage is the first I believe to offer the models with heavy barrels, chassis things like that. There Model 110 is offered in 300Win and 338 L.. Stag Arms gives us left handed shooters an AR.I Wish Ruger would make there Precision rifle in a LH model.

Alan

I doubt that there are technical reasons for the lack you reference. More likely, it is a marketing decision, though my conclusion could be wrong.

Alan

I believe that Savage has offered both right and left handed models for a number of years. Remington does or did also, as was the case with Winchester, though it took a terribly long time, and might have been discontinued , not sure. Some other makers also offer left hand bolt actions, though I’m uncertain as to how wide a caliber spread.

Clarence

I’m so glad to see a major gun company finally releasing a LH model in so many different calibers.
