Louisiana- -( Here is some news you won't find in the mainstream media. These are responsible gun owners defending themselves and the people they love.

Self-defense instructor Tony Simon joined the Self Defense Gun Stories Podcast to look at three new examples. Were these gun owners lucky, or were they trained and prepared?   What can we learn from their experience? Listen and find out. (17 minute podcast)

All three victims survived lethal attacks because they had a gun.

First Story- Are you armed when you're out shopping?

You’re a grandmother with three children and 11 grandchildren. You’re here in Illinois visiting family. You pull into a parking place at the Southpark Mall. You see a man waiting at a bus stop nearby. You’re getting out of your truck when the man is suddenly next to you. He has a knife and is threatening you. He cuts your arm. He is distracted for a moment and drops his knife. You use that moment to grab your gun from the center console. You climb out of the truck and point the gun at your attacker.

Second Story-  Are you armed as you walk down the street with your cousin?

It is the middle of the day. You and your cousin are walking past a green light store. Crime is so bad in Detroit, that they designate certain stores and gas stations with a green colored light. Those stores have high definition cameras that run directly to the police station. The two of you walk past another man when the stranger draws a gun from his pocket and points it at you. Your attacker is so close that you push his gun out of the way.

Third Story- Are you armed when you're at home?

You are standing in your driveway on a Friday afternoon. A man runs up to you.  He is wearing a mask and carrying a gun. He orders you into your home. Once inside, he grabs your wife and demands that you give him your money.

    1. Many know that in the early days of our founding, churches required their members to bring their muskets with powder and shot to church. This was to fend off any Indian or outlaw attack. Today we face Al-quida and Isis as well as others and some states, such as NC, make it illegal to conceal carry in a church. This needs to change.

    2. I know a certain orthodox Anglican Bishop who has a Texas LTC ; I was privileged to be his instructor. No shrinking violet, he was an Air Force command pilot before being called into the Sky Pilot Business. Underneath the official robes ; or his weekday suit and collar, he carries a Colt Automatic and two spare magazines.

When fully kitted out, Bishops traditionally carry a ceremonial crozier -a Shepard’s Staff. He said he carries the Colt for the same thing- to protect the Flock when wolves are about; he also reminds questioners that the commandment, properly translated to modern English, is “Do not commit Murder.”

In the Revolution era, he would have been one of the pastors who took off their priestly vestments to reveal a militia colonel’s uniform.

    3. Some of us do carry at church. We are meeting at a motel conference room. I always sit at the far back corner to practice OODA.

    4. C’mon….enough is enough. Almost every time I read an article on shooting, the first thing I see is a ponytail hanging out below a cap. Do men shoot anymore? Let’s be a little less tense in trying to increase gun sales by portraying women as “bad-asses”. If my comment is not PC, or hurts some little snowflake’s feelings, then so be it.

    5. My Anglican pastor knows that I am willing and able to take down any tango who interrupts the Mass, yelling “Allahu akhbar!” or deploys a weapon. Since the Sixth Commandment is, “Thou shall not commit murder,” and not “Thou shall not kill,” my pastor has promised to back me up with his ankle-riding ,380.

      1. we need MORE PASTORS LIKE YOURS.
during our Revolution we even had some LEAD MEN INTO BATTLE AGAINST THE BRITISH.
