Wilson CombatU.S.A.-(Ammoland.com)- The 2017 IDPA National Championship was held on September 28-30th at Triple C Range in Cresson, Texas. Wilson Combat is extremely proud of the results from the match. These individuals are not only great ambassadors for Wilson Combat but are also great ambassadors of the shooting sports.

Distinguished Master Glenn Shelby went on to win his 6th CDP Division Champion title at an IDPA National Championship. Not only did Glenn win his division, but he also walked away with the High Industry title and the best time of the entire match shooting his CQB Elite.

BJ Norris won the overall in the SSP Division earning himself his first Distinguished Master title. “This year’s match was one of the best I’ve ever shot. The stages were extremely well-built and were just challenging enough to trick you into pushing too hard and making mistakes. The staff did an amazing job dealing with the difficult weather conditions, and we were able to finish ahead of schedule on Saturday, despite having to make up stages from the previous day.

“Normally, I shoot ESP with a Wilson Combat 1911, but with this year’s match being so close to the USPSA Production Nationals, I decided to shoot SSP with a 92G Brigadier-Tactical. It’s the gun I shoot the most, and it’s pretty much been my favorite platform since I joined the Wilson Combat team a couple of years ago. The trigger work, accuracy, and overall build quality make the 92G one of the best all-around choices for competition across a number of different sports.

“This was my first division win at a National level match in what I call the two practical pistol sports, IDPA and USPSA. Due to some other factors, I shot this match on extremely short notice, after taking an overnight flight from the west coast. I wouldn’t have been able to accomplish this without the support of my Wilson Combat teammates, and family at home who kept encouraging me to go ahead and compete despite everything else going on.” -BJ Norris

Pat Doyle became a Distinguished Master finishing the CCP division just under 5 seconds behind the CCP Division Champion. Eric Fuson finished just under half a second behind teammate Pat Doyle to also earn himself a Distinguished Master title in CCP.
