National Concealed Carry Reciprocity Conversation with VA. Senator Mark Warner

Virginia Senator Mark Warner
There really would be no LOGICAL argument for a Congressional legislator representing Virginia, like Senator Mark Warner, to NOT support National Reciprocity.

Virginia – -(Ammoland.com)- I called Senator Mark Warner’s DC office last week and asked to speak to the aide who handles firearms policies. I ended up talking to Ross.

I told Ross:

  • Since Senator Warner is supposed to be representing Virginia and not New York, he needs to support National Concealed Carry Reciprocity
  • Virginia ALREADY recognizes concealed carry permits from all states. The General Assembly has spoken on this matter so that National Reciprocity would change nothing for Virginia
  • But the 450,000 Virginia CHP holders would benefit from being able to carry in the rest of the 49 states.

During the conversation, it was clear that he didn’t know that Virginia now honors the CHPs from all states, as Ross only mentioned that Virginia had dropped reciprocity with 25 states! I made sure he was clear on the actual situation.

Ross also said that they had heard from people opposing National Reciprocity.

I said, “What can they possibly be against? National Reciprocity would change NOTHING in Virginia. If the people calling were from another state, Senator Warner does not represent them.”

Ross said he would communicate my comments to Senator Warner.

Simple truth is
1. 50% of your earnings go to these criminals in office.
2. The criminals in office are destroying the infrastructure of freedom.

Hi support closing all gun purchase loopholes and strict enforcement of background checks. It is imperative that we require as much vetting of gun owners as we do drivers of automobiles. There is no constitutional right to abuse others. We must repeal the probably get prohibition against studies that would increase our awareness of the prevention of harm from firearms. We must increase public awareness of the well documented fact that more fire arms increases fire alarm casualties, that, in fact, guns make us less safe. What do our national statistics show about mass murders and fire arm deaths win… Read more »

I believe that you are sadly mistaken. (Jim Best) The problem of “vetting gun owners as we do drivers of automobiles,” is that driving a car is a privilege, but owning a gun is a constitutionally protected RIGHT! We don’t have to ask the permission of government for any other of our constitutional rights. Firearms are used defensively at least 750,000 times a year, and that’s a slow year. Some years it’s as high as 2.5 million events. This is FAR GREATER than the number of people killed every year. Some “false security” huh? Did you also know that Concealed… Read more »

Mr. Best, you not only appear to be mistaken, you appear to be woefully uninformed and misguided. Why are you even on the Ammoland site if you have the beliefs you present? I suspect you may not even be a gun owner. However, the 2nd Amendment protects your right to own firearms, even if you choose not to.

You need to send your information to both warner and kaine, however, you’ll receive a letter back stating that the senator has received many communications wanting more “gun control” and will not be supporting the National Concealed Carry Reciprocity law. In other words–they’re typical liberal democrats voting the party line.

We can all email Senator Warner and Senator Kaine about this. Suggested text: 1.
