Winchester, Ky. ( – DoubleStar Corp, manufacturers of high-quality, US-made AR components, rifles, pistols and edged weapons, has opened a new division, DoubleStar International, to focus on new products and accessories made to the same superior standards as all their US-made products, but manufactured abroad.

“DoubleStar has a long history of bringing the best US-made products to market and we will continue to do so,” Stacy Starnes, CEO of DoubleStar explained. “We know our customers want quality products made to DoubleStar standards while providing more value to the consumer. That will be the focus of our new international division. Our mission is to remain completely honest with our customers about where our products are produced. Whether a product is US-made or produced abroad, DoubleStar is committed to using sources with reputations for excellence.”

Some of the first items in the new DoubleStar International line-up are edged weapons. In their tradition of partnering with some of the top knife designers and trainers in the world, DoubleStar International will unveil the Brimstone Folding Knife designed by Mike Vellekamp of V Nives, LLC. The new Brimstone edge weapons and others will be on display at the 2018 SHOT Show at booth 20061 and 20063.

“Myself and all the knife designers and trainers have realized that foreign manufacturers of edged weapons have improved leaps and bounds over what was previously thought of as second-rate production,” Cabrera added. “The tooling and machining is on par with American standards now, so it makes sense to partner with these foreign manufacturers to bring to market some of the great collaborations you’ll see from us that offer superior design and craftsmanship and won’t break the bank to own.”

Smart move. People want US made products but don’t want to pay for them. I bet everyone who complains owns blades made abroad and just haven’t done the research. Gerber, CRKT, etc. all have the majority of their low cost blades made overseas. G10 scales and D2 steel are is a great combo.

Gerber is starting to bring stuff back on shore. Just got a nice little folder from them for under twenty bucks that was made in their Portland address.
I hope other manufacturers follow the idea.

Not made in the USA? Not interested.

There are many good US made knives to choose from, so why even consider some chineese sweatshop knife?

I know the answer already to this one, it’s to pad their wallets. And frankly, this move really lowers my opinion of DoubleStar as a company.

Make a broad sell them a broad I will not purchase any of their stuff.

Not all of our knives are made overseas, we needed an affordable reliable folder and aren’t in the position to produce 10K units at a time. I’m interested in seeing if Laserbait owns any of our American Made knives?

Thanks for the insight “Samson”,

That’s exactly the issue, also we are working on production numbers to drive prices down for the consumer. But, for anyone who have ever manufactured anything, they well now that its not an easy formula.

Just Curious,

Why will you now buy any of our products?
