Women Shooter Self Defense Gun

Louisiana- -(Ammoland.com)- Here is some news you won't find in the mainstream media. Again this week, responsible gun owners defend themselves and the people they love.

Self-defense instructor David Cole joins the Self Defense Gun Stories Podcast to look at three new examples. Were these gun owners lucky, or were they trained and prepared?   What can we learn from their experience? Listen and find out. (17-minute podcast)

All three victims survived lethal attacks because they had a gun.

First story-  Are you armed at home?

You’re a grandmother and a widow. You live alone. You’re asleep in bed.  It is after midnight when you hear someone trying to pry open your bedroom window. You walk to your dresser and grab your gun. You pull open the blinds and point your gun at the attempted robber. The robber falls over. You see him scramble to his feet and run away. You call police.

Second Story-  Are you armed at work?

You’re a pharmacist. You own and operate your own store. It is 9 in the morning and you unlock your front door.  You’re behind the counter when you see three men dressed in black rush inside. Two of them jump over your counter. They pull out bags and start grabbing drugs. One of them shouts for you not to move and reaches for his pocket. So do you. You shoot at the two attackers closest to you. The three men run from the store. You call police.

You give your address and a description of the get-away car. Police arrest one man when he goes to the hospital for treatment of gunshot wounds.

Third Story- Are you armed when walking on the street?

It is the day after Christmas. You walk out of a store on the southside of Chicago.  It is a little after 6pm, and it is already dark and cold. A man walks up to you. He pulls a gun out of his jacket pocket and tells you to hand it over. You reach into your pants pocket and grab your wallet. Your wallet contains your Illinois Firearms Owners Identification Card. It also contains your Concealed Carry License. You’re armed.

You hand the robber your wallet. You draw your gun and shoot your attacker in the chest. The attacker drops his gun, and you step back inside the store to call police.

    1. I grew up in Joliet just south of ChiRaq, the Home to Stateville P. I use to go to ChiRaq with my girlfriend all the time, doing the lake shore drive, museums. It was great times in the 60’s.
I got my ccw in ND and Utah back in 2003. I’m a citizen, but if going back to ChiRaq I’d be a victim!
Chicogoan’s need to get rid of raum deadfish Emanuel as gov! Victim or citizen?!!

    2. The Illinois story sounds like a fairy tale, FOID card and a CCL.
Getting a conceal and carry license in Illinois is tougher than pulling your own teeth unless there have been major changes in the last year.
By the way the southside of Chicago is no place to hang out or shop.

      1. I had a Luger pistol in my top bureau drawer for years, became nervous THAT OUR KIDS, OR THEIR FRIENDS, MIGHT FIND IT AND CAUSE DANGERS , OR DEATH ,TO EACH OTHER

SO, I GAVE THE PISTOL TO A FRIEND, WHO HAD NO CHILDREN.

UNDERWHAT CIRCUMSTANCE SHOULD I RE- CONSIDER AND PURCHASE A NEW PISTOL. AND, IF I DO GET ANOTHER, HOW CAN I NOW PROTECT THE SAFETY OF OUR MANY GRANDCHILDREN ?

        1. Do what I do. Keep it on my person 24-7. Make it SS or plastic or a combo so steam from the shower or bath won’t hurt it.
