Arizona -(Ammoland.com)- Autopsy results, as reported in the Las Vegas Review Journal, show the Mandalay Bay Shooter committed suicide with a shot to the roof of the mouth. From reviewjournal.com:

The autopsy, which included toxicology tests and a brain examination, found that Paddock had anti-anxiety medication in his system. It also confirmed what authorities had previously said — that Paddock died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to his head after he opened fire at an outdoor concert from his 32nd-floor Mandalay Bay suite, killing 58 people and injuring hundreds more.

“It seems that based on the autopsy reports there were no physical excuses for what Steve did,” said his younger brother Eric Paddock, who lives in Orlando, Fla. “We may never understand why Steve did this.”

The bullet that killed Paddock entered the roof of his mouth and traveled to the back of his head and then upward without exiting his body, leaving fractured bones along the way, the report says. Paddock also had scrapes on his right upper calf and knee and a bruise on his left calf.

A separate examination of his brain done at Stanford University found no major abnormalities, including no evidence of Alzheimer’s disease.

The article in the Review Journal does not say if the autopsy report shows what position the Mandalay Bay shooter was in when he committed suicide or which hand held the .38 Smith & Wesson 340SC that appears in the photograph of the dead shooter. The revolver is about three feet from the shooters head, as he lies on his back on the Mandalay Bay carpet. The article does not say what position the body was in when it was found.

There appears to be a trail of blood spots from the pool of blood under the shooter’s head to the revolver. Perhaps the revolver was moved from the position where it was found to the one in the photograph.

There seem to be two separate pools of blood, perhaps created at two separate times.  This could have happened if the body started face down, with the hand closer to the revolver, and was then moved to a different position or positions, perhaps as first responders made their initial investigation.

We do not know precisely when the photograph was taken, or during what part of the investigation.

Editor’s Note: What we do know is that Paddock, like numerous mass shooters before him, was using anti-anxiety medication at the time of the shooting. Read more here to see the one thing every mass shooter shares in common.

The autopsy report shows that the bullet did not exit the skull.  The blood must have come out of the nose and mouth. Most seems to have come out of the nose and mouth in at least two separate events.

It is not unusual for the bullet from a .38 revolver to fail to exit the skull. The autopsy report should tell us what the remaining ammunition was in the revolver.

The Review Journal goes on to say that there were no brain abnormalities, or evidence of Alzheimer’s disease in the shooter’s brain.

There are probably many more photographs in the autopsy report.  They may be even more graphic than the one that was released to the public early in the investigation. The answers are likely there as to the original position of the body, and how and when it was moved.

Perhaps the entire autopsy report will be released to the public in the future.

Funny, he was planning on escaping, locking the door to the stairwell in the hall, cameras, etc, more guns in car, etc. The other shooter there wanted a fall guy. Bet he was surprised when the other shooter put that .38 under his chin….

The fact that we still don’t know exactly what happened just proves that “what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas”. Sorry, I couldn’t help myself.

@Mike,

Don’t be sorry. Your post was a whole mouthful of THE TRUTH…!

I noticed the casings as well.
I also find it “curious” that his left leg was under a rifle that had a bipod extended.
I also find it “curious” that his jacket was pulled down and his left hand is still in the jacket…can;t see if his right arm is similar but if it is…how did he shoot himself…???

Another reason to oppose gun control. Yes, there are people that are “defective” and spreading death and mayhem are the norm for them. However, they are a very minute minority. If we are a disarmed populace how will we protect ourselves and our loved ones? Are we to become more innocent victims? What about the checks and balances of our republic? A total ban of firearms from the US will let the judicial branch run rampant in the stripping of our constitutionally guaranteed rights. After that comes the military being the new law enforcement. We have to fight to keep… Read more »

We have been lied to so much that I distrust the findings..I am surprised that he didn’t commit suicide with two shots to the back of the head like others have done.. Of course the evidence is now conviently cremated. . we will never know the point of the shooting.
I guess my distrust of the autopsy puts me in the “its a conspiracy” group.

Thanks for your comment!!! We also do not trust, because of the lies and concealed evidence. Look at the release of the JFK files! We the people have been lied to for years! It is sad that has to happen. One must think that the liars are afraid of something? Hmmm what is their fear? Thanks again!

Did he Kill himself ???? Or did someone else???? And the someone else leave before the cops got to the hotel room??The time lines don’t match up. What ever happened to the one security guard (who got hit with a 223 round) and walked on to a T.V. show like nothing ever happened?

The “Russians” did it. Or maybe little green men or greys. They used a mind ray to take control of a perfectly normal American and give him a headache and send him to a doctor who would prescribe Prozac. The aliens used their ray machine to remove the hard drive and direct the walking dead zombie to do all these dastardly acts. The aliens are planning to invade and they want gun control because even the space aliens can’t control 300 million Americans with with over 200 million modern firearms. They have tried “body snatchers” with organic pods in California… Read more »

I’ll comment again, the picture I saw of Paddock right after the shooting showed him on the floor with his head in a pool of blood and a 223 empty casing on top of the blood. My question is how could he have shot himself and a casing be on top of the blood.

rappini

Right after this happened in Vegas they showed a picture of Paddock with his head laying in a pool of blood, and I noticed a 223 empty shell laying near his head on top of the blood. Now if he shot himself how the hell did that 223 empty shell get on top of the blood?

Tionico

blood being a liquid, albeit a rether heavy one, could well spread and move underneath a shell casing already lying nearby on the floor…. that would make it appear the casing dropped on top of the liquid after it had pooled. A close examinatioin in 3 D at the scene before anything was moved would resolve this.. but we ALL know that did not happen. What bothers me most about this whole schemozzle is that NO OFFICIAL has yet offered any explanation for the audio recordings (including as part of video streams recorded) that clearly reveal the reports of multiple… Read more »

There seems to be some irregularities here. Paddock was over 6 feet tall and had excellent dental work. The body autopsied was under 6 feet and had bad teeth.but since they conveniently cremated the body, we will never know for sure, wil we.
