Don’t Penalize Gun Owners For Government Foul-Ups

Finger Pointing Blame Shameful Problem
Don’t Penalize Gun Owners For Government Foul-Ups,’ Says CCRKB

BELLEVUE, WA – -(Ammoland.com)-The bombshell admission by the FBI that it was tipped about the suspect in last week’s tragic school shooting, and yet did nothing, provides damning evidence that it is the government that should be blamed, not American gun owners, the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms said today.

“The FBI has admitted that it received a tip about the suspect’s disturbing behavior and comments on social media back in January, but didn’t follow up on the information,” noted CCRKBA Chairman Alan Gottlieb. “On top of that, the public has learned that police in Broward County had been called to the suspect’s residence more than 30 times over the past few years

“But who is being demonized as a result of the Parkland school shooting,” Gottlieb questioned. “That’s right, American gun owners.”

“Why should they be penalized and see their rights eroded because government agencies screwed up? The gun prohibition lobby has been prattling non-stop since Day One that the country needs to add more restrictions on gun rights.

“Why should gun owners give up their firearms freedom and sacrifice their personal security when the government can’t provide the security these gun grabbers promise with all of their cockeyed proposals,” he wondered.

“Even before all the students had been evacuated from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, gun prohibition lobbying groups including billionaire Michael Bloomberg’s Everytown for Gun Safety and all of its satellite groups were clamoring for tougher gun laws,” Gottlieb noted. “They were all quick to blame gun ownership when the problem appears to be government incompetence, and this is not the first time it’s happened.

“The Texas church shooter’s criminal record should have prevented him from buying firearms,” Gottlieb said, “but the records weren’t forwarded by the military to the National Instant Check System. This wasn’t the fault of gun owners, but the government. And now anti-gunners want us to surrender our rights?

“Ronald Reagan was right,” Gottlieb concluded. “Government isn’t the solution to the problem. Government is the problem.”

American males were penalized heavily for what Bill Clinton did. Witch hunts…same mechanizm. This time boys, better speak up, and push back. My bank is taking the opportunity to posture. The complainers at the bank no doubt support Planned Parenthood as well as hate the NRA membership I’m closing that account as soon as possible to use the remaining funds to buy a lifetime membership of at the NRA. Will they go after our knives and scalpels next? Or is that too confusing to bring up?

We be up to our a$$ in alligators from what I heard on the news this evening. Trump is saying he has directed the DOJ to prepare a document outlawing bump stocks and any item that will make the gun operate as a machine gun. In addition, he is open to expanded background checks. Someone has gotten to him and, once again, we are the losers because a crazy shot up a school. It is looking a lot like Trump is a one term president because he is going to throw his supporters under the bus by chiseling away at… Read more »

@Tcat, I wrote to the President on whitehouse.gov telling him that these calls for gun control are just an attempt by the democrats to separate the president from his base. And If the president falls for it he will be a one term president. Then I promised to vote for candidates that would help him drain the swamp in the 2018 elections. Short, sweet, polite.

tomcat

@Wild Bill good thought and action. I will do the same thing and see if we can turn his head back to where it started. I agree he will be a one termer if he folds to the liberals.

@Wild Bill I replied to you but it vaporized. Your writing was very good and I have done the same thing. It required name, address, phone #. I did all that and sent a polite letter. Will see if the secret service appears at my door tomorrow. The FBI is of no concern because that would mean they would have to get up out of their comfy chair.

As I pointed out on several blogs – 100 MILLION (more or less) law abiding Citizens who own some 350 MILLION guns (more or less) did nothing wrong on Valentine’s Day yet somehow WE (and of course the NRA) are responsible. It is simply impossible to make up this industrial strength level of stupidity. Might as well blame me for drunk driving crashes while they are at it ( I don’t drink 😉 BTW, I had a another thought, we need to call these what they are, murder, murder most foul. I’m tired of hearing premeditated murder characterized as ‘losing’… Read more »

It wasn’t A tip the FBI received. It was TWO, one in September (the website post) and one in JANUARY, a call from someone who KNEW the shooter. FBI ignored both. FBI changes the narrative in the Las Vegas shooting, zero info forth coming, contradicts sheriff’s statements. FBI ignored Ft. Hood “red flags” that should have been investigated. Government doesn’t post domestic violence conviction of Texas church shooter. Mayors tell police to stand down in riots in Berkeley and Charlottesville. No information at all on Seth Rich’s murder. A mugging gone wrong. Feds prosecute less than one percent of gun… Read more »

@PJ I agree, the Fat Boy Institute could have a national level clearing house to coordinate potential active killer tips with a handful of clerks and a couple of supervisors. Blaming inanimate objects and punishing the law abiding do no good. Plenty of actual people had a hand in this.

Call or email your congressman and senator and raise hell with them to do something with the simple servants in the FBI who didn’t do their job about this nut case in Florida.
Law abiding gun owners shouldn’t have to be treated with threats to suspend their rights under the constitution because some government employee didn’t do their job.

The Air Force can’t be bothered to report over 4000 domestic abusers to NICS. One of whom turns out to be a mass murderer in an TX church. God knows how many others will do things in the future. Broward County checks on a reported person 39 time, but doesn’t put him into the system even after his violent actions in school and home. The FBI is warned about and directed to a FB page of another person threatening terrorist acts, but does nothing. Same guy as Broward Co. was dealing with. They don’t coordinate, or do their jobs, he… Read more »

We can blame the NRA for supporting background checks & the police. They’re the reason we have gun control in the first place.

BILL

No $#!+, me too. Soon it will all be over. Too late unless we do something. This stuff is BS.
Read the Melian Dialog, just look it up and read it. We are in the exact same situation.

Wild Bill

@Bill, the fast “something that we can do” is flood the whitehouse.gov contact line with the message that ” The latest calls for gun control are just a ploy by Democrats to separate the president from his base. The liberals are hoping that he will allow some form of gun control to go through so that he will be a one term president.” It is free and does not cost a thing.

AxeSlinger

Of course it’s our fault. We are the ones who voted the politicians in office and keep re-electing them!

B. Conner

WE didn’t vote them in! People that don’t like guns or are just apathetic toward gun rights, voted them in. Unfortunately, when gun owners are a small percentage of voters, we sometimes need some help with votes. Sadly, here in New Jersey we didn’t get enough to keep out the current Democratic Governor.

Timothy Votaw

Don’t look now, but the knee-jerk, spastic anti-gun turds are gaining on us. The time is approaching for decisions – are we, the remaining American citizens who recognize the threat crawling up our backs, going to do what is necessary for our Constitutional survival? Or roll over, and concede those rights?

Wild Bill

Yes, the Anti-Civil Rights Movement is trying mightily to shame Congress and the President, and get more donations. They are not going to let this tragedy go to waste. The Fat Boy Institute will try to use this latest incident to get a budget increase. There is no profit in letting the American people be free.

Nottinghill

GDn’t I’m with you!
