U.S.A. –-(Ammoland.com)- On Friday, Feb 16th, Florida Carry called for the Florida Legislature to immediately:
- Pass emergency legislation to eliminate gun-free zones for law-abiding concealed carry licensees;
- Pass emergency legislation authorizing all teachers in public schools who possess a CWFL to carry their licensed, concealed firearm if they so choose, without repercussion; and
- Provide immediate funding of one million dollars in grants for county school boards and sheriffs to implement pilot programs of the Faculty/Administrator Safety Training and Emergency Response (FASTER) Program in the State of Florida.
Today, the legislature is under attack.
The candidates who came to us as Florida Gun Owners during the primaries have now become lawmakers.
Those lawmakers are now being pressured in to selling us out.
We have offered effective solutions to the violence of evil people. Far too many legislators are not listening…
We have called for the legislature to fund FASTER, Investigate the non-response of the Broward County Sheriff’s office to a clear and present danger, to demand that the FBI account for its failure to investigate multiple reported threats, Recognize that “gun free zones” are not free of criminal violence, and Provide for the lawful defence of FL students.

This sounds great if you ignore the fact that at least some number of teachers and admins don’t want to carry and don’t want to learn shooting. Relying on some who have CPL’s presupposes that they are well trained and practice regularly – not a good bet, I’d say. Better to hire enough pro guards.

@jh45gun C, Put firearms training, carrying concealed, and protecting the students in the contract. Then your presupposition becomes just part of the job. If a teacher or administrator does not want to do that part of the job, then they do not have to sign the contract.
One need not contemplate any longer as to WHY a TERRORIST would choose a designated GUN FREE ZONE to go to and do their WICKED, TWISTED black hate filled heart’s desire.
One MUST acknowledge that over 90% of all TERRORISTS’ MASS MURDERS have been done in GUN FREE ZONES.
These GUN FREE ZONES would better be named TARGET ENRICHED ARENAS.
