Radical Democrats Propose Crazy Minnesota Assault Weapons Ban

U.S.A.-(Ammoland.com)- Since the school shooting in Parkland, Florida, states across the nation seem to have gone crazy with new gun law proposals. Minnesota is one is these states introducing new far-reaching gun laws. In fact, their new bill goes farther than any current measure in the country.

The proposed legislation is by Representative Linda Slocum of the Minnesota Democratic–Labor–Farmer Party (DLF). A merger of the Minnesota Democratic Party and the Farmer-Labor Party formed the DLF in 1944. The DLF Party is affiliated nationally with the Democratic Party.

Rep. Slocum's new bill (HF 3022) would enact very far-reaching laws. It would expand the definition of an “assault weapon” to match almost word for word that of The Assault Weapons Ban of 2018 (H.R.5087) right down to the make and model of guns. The Assault Weapons Ban of 2018 is currently in the US House Of Representatives. The bill will ban most semi-automatic rifles, pistols, and shotguns. H.R.5087 will most likely die in committee.

According to Rep. Slocum, she has been working on the legislation since September of 2017, but Rep. David Cicilline (D-R.I), who proposed the national law, said that he wrote the bill in response to the Florida school shooting.

It could be that they received the list of firearms from the same source or she is a liar?

Another thing that the far-reaching anti-gun bill would do is make it illegal to shoot any grandfathered firearm outside a federally registered shooting range, or on private property that is owned by the shooter. It would be unlawful for someone to shoot on a friend's or family member's property even if they have their permission.

“Do they need that kind of a weapon to hunt? I’m not that well-versed on hunting,” Slocum said when asked about how this would affect hunting with grandfathered firearms. “I don’t hunt, none of my family hunts.”

Owners must register all grandfather guns with the state. These firearms would not be transferable. The owners could not sell or transfer the firearms even by going through an FFL or shipping them out of state. The only way the owners of the guns would be able to get rid of them would be to turn them over to the state for destruction. There is not an exception for firearms to be passed down through inheritance.

The law would also ban all private sales or transfers of non-prohibited firearms. The current owner of the guns must transfer them through an FFL. There would also be a two day waiting period for these transfers. The local counties would also be responsible for keeping records of all firearms transfers essentially creating dozens of gun registrys.

The bill would make the possession of silencers, bump stocks, and any magazines that hold more than ten rounds a felony. There is not a grandfather clause on the ownership of any of these devices. They must be turned over to the state without exception for destruction.

The bill would also ban the private sale of ammunition. Anyone purchasing ammunition must buy it through a licensed dealer. The dealer would be required to hold records of all transactions for three years.

The final provision of the bill would add anyone who owes child support to be placed on the prohibited person's list for owning a firearm. Slocum is open to dropping this provision to the law. She is not flexible on changing any other regulation on the rest of the proposed rule.

“I think anyone that wants to buy a gun should be physically present at an active-shooter drill in a school,” Slocum told the Pioneer Press.”They all do them. You see these little kids doing an active-shooter drill, OK, and it’s paralyzing.”

The bill has an uphill battle in the Minnesota House Of Representatives, but it does highlight the siege that the Second Amendment is facing after the shooting in Flordia. As gun owners, we must fight off these attacks. The anti-gun crowd will likely be proposing more of these oppressive laws in the future.

    1. All of these dumb ass liberals need to shut their mouth and grow a pair. they don’t understand that criminals are still going to have guns, and they will still find a way to kill. the gun ban is not going to help shit. if anything it will make things worse. they need to know that there are people out there who collect guns, love guns, and cherish the right to own one. LETS NOT LET THESE CROOKED LIBERAL SNOWFLAKES TAKE OUR GUNS!!!!!!!

    2. Here are the Minnesota gun grabbers who are “co-sponsoring” this ridiculous bill
      Keith Ellison
      Betty McCollum
      Rick Nolan
      Tim Walz
I think they need to hear from all their constituents about how crazy this is!

    3. I was so enraged by this woman’s (Slocum’s) proposal that I had to write to her and inform her that until she and the other pretenders do something about “Little Mogadishu” (twin cities), there’s no way in hell I’m giving up any of my equalizers. It’s obvious to me that she really doesn’t give a damn about her progeny, in reality, otherwise, immigration would be more balanced and maybe Minnesota could become a castle statute state. How’s that for a far fetched dream ?!?

      1. @Mike, Lutheran Brotherhood and the Lutheran Church brought them to the “Cities”, and continues to. Instead of just a letter, send her a case of Valentine candies and a friendly note. That should take care of her. She looks like she can hardly waddle, now.

        1. Wild Bill, Do you have any evidence of your claims about the “Lutheran brotherhood”? I have never heard such a thing. Anyway, I won’t be giving up any of my rights.

    4. The level of Disappointment in Linda Slocum I have as a Minnesota Resident is appalling. As I am in favor of Gun Law Reform she has taken what could be common sense law and is driving her own agenda.
Linda Slocum is furthering the WAR ON DADS in Minnesota and creating new criminals and felonies on fathers who are having troubles paying child support. She has pointed her finger at Minnesota Fathers and made them criminals. Child Support for most fathers takes 50-65% of your net earnings and has no real life situation for fathers who get laid off, injured or temporarily/seasonally laid off. Linda Slocum bill is not a drive to make us safe but a drive to make new criminals in MN.

    5. Right now the snowflakes think this is all about gun but just give these communist Democrats a chance and they will tell you what can eat what you can drink and drive or anything else this country will turn into a dictatorship

    6. I told everyone back in 2016 if you voted for the Democrats you’re voting for the communist and when you see what this dumb broad comes up with it just proved was 100% right

    7. NOTE TO ALL CRIMINALS WHO WISH TO OBTAIN A GUN FOR YOUR HANDIWORK – YOUR METHOD OF GAINING CASH OR POSSESSIONS: All you have to do is follow these laws – o yeah – you are a criminal and all of the “gun laws” written before now or which ever shall be written, will HAVE NO EFFECT ON YOUR ACTIVITIES, AND NOT EFFECT ON HOW YOU PROCURE A FIREARM, HANDGUN, RIFLE, SHOTGUN.
So, all of these knee-jerk law proposals on top of the hundreds already on the books will be followed by only law abiding citizens and would have no effect on your possessing and using a firearm in your trade? So, you would ignore any and all restrictive gun laws… because the “law” means nothing to you.
And, you would search out places that are “Gun Free Zones”, like retail shops, restuarants, theaters, etc to find your victims, because you expect that no one there will be armed.

But, be warned – come to a theater where I am enjoying the movie, I am armed. Come to a restaurant where I am eating, I am armed. Enter a retail store where I am shopping, I am armed. Come to the church where I worship, I, and several others, am armed. Come on to my property without my invitation, I am armed.

And so I say to the simple minded liberals who want, actually, to disarm America…. fire your security detail, fire the Secret Service. Entertainers like movie stars, singers, comedians etc, who hire armed guards – fire them. And on and on I could go. This great country of ours became a reality because ARMED COLONISTS said to Great Britain…. “COME AND GET US…. JUST TRY TO TAKE AWAY OUR GUNS…” For many years, it was the armed citizens who volunteered to become defenders of their new country, that kept the United States of America free. In modern history, it is the “gun”, either at home or across the sea, that has assured that we remain free.
Take away our guns, sirs and madamns, and very soon after, our Constitution and all the freedoms it protects will be shredded….. shredded by politicians like these in this article.
I refer to the House of Representatives Assault Weapons Ban of 2018. Check it out for yourselves.

    8. Representative Linda Slocum of the Minnesota Democratic–Labor–Farmer Party (DLF). A merger of the Minnesota Democratic Party and the Farmer-Labor Party formed the DLF in 1944. The DLF Party is affiliated nationally with the Democratic Party.

Seems that somehow the Communist Party USA was missing or am I missing something?

      1. @Jim, The Communist party of Minnesota can deceive more people by calling themselves Democratic-Farmer-Laborer Party. It is all part of dividing the people and conquering them. The poor farmer and laborers versus the avaricious bankers and businessmen.

      2. Retired USAF SMSgt from and now in MN. The Communist Party started in MN as long as I have lived here – 1969. The people who look like they are good citizens of MN that are DFL has mostly been DFL’s all their lives, just like their daddy’s. What did they get for it – high taxes, St Gov spending more than they get it (except when R’s get in control but D’s always get back in control). No matter the good the R’s do, the D’s just get rid of it and add to it. My Mom used to call MN “God’s Country” – I am afraid it is “God Forbidden Country”. In the MN at times we would look at where we were at that time and say – We are not at the end of the world but we can see it from where we stand. We are not at the end of America but can see it from where we stand. May God continue to bless the great country – even though we don’t deserve it. Pray for America – Tom

    9. Laws like this are violations of;

      The 4th Amendment states:
“The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.”

The 5th Amendment further protects property, by stating:
“No person shall be … deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.”

there are also state laws regarding inherited property.

    10. Let me see, you have to register your “grandfathered” guns with the state, you cannot sell or transfer a “prohibited” gun, magazine, or ammunition, it must be turned in to the state for destruction..
Who is going to keep track of this?
If a friend of mine in Minnesota brings his guns to me in North Dakota and either leaves them here in my care or “sells” them to me, how is the Minnesota State Gov’t going to know?
There are more holes in this plan than there is open space in Minnesota!

    11. No crazier than NJ’s which came out committee yesterday. Also no grandfathering for AR’s or mags with mags carrying a 18 mo. per mag jail sentence if caught.
