Fairfax, VA – -(Ammoland.com)- Vermont gun owners need to make their voices heard immediately as the state moves dangerously close to adopting the same draconian laws as neighboring New York.
This session has already witnessed an unprecedented barrage of gun control bills. Several of these bills have already cleared early votes and recent amendments have made bad bills even worse.
The most dangerous and pressing bill on the agenda right now is S.55. This bill took a turn for the worse this week when Rep. Martin LaLonde (D-South Burlington) introduced amendments to S.55 which mirror New York’s disastrous and infamous SAFE Act. The amendment would ban commonly-owned semi-automatic firearms, most standard capacity magazines and also mandate locked firearm storage. Further, the amendment also creates a 10-day delay for gun purchases, essentially ending Vermont gun shows.
The House Judiciary could vote on S.55 at any time. We suspect that it will occur next Tuesday, March 20 2018.
Please contact your legislators immediately and respectfully ask them to oppose S.55. It’s important that you also call and leave a message for your legislator, “No on S.55,” with the Sergeant-at-arms at 802-828-2228. The House Judiciary Committee can be contacted by emailing the clerk, [email protected]. The House Judiciary Committee clerk can also be reached at 802-828-2257.
Again, it is critical that you take action immediately.

I’m not a resident of the Great State of Vermont. I am a fellow New Englander. I loved studying our history in the founding of our Country.Walking in their footsteps knowing most of them were people just like me. Are the Rinos doing this for money? Are their families being harassed? I really want to know! Imagine how brave these “Minutemen” and their families were living among so many Tories. Especially in New England were most merchants were against them. Have the “Tories” of another Country invaded us? It was the Green Mountain Boys and the other groups like Rogers… Read more »
Green Mountain Boys must be rolling in their graves!
Don’t know why Burlington Vermont hired left wing “no guns for you only for me” New York City Police Deputy Inspector Brandon Del Pozo to be it’s Chief of Police. Never thought we would have to worry about Vermont. Looks like the left is gaining power in Vermont.
People of VERMONT, DONOT LET THIS HAPPEN TO YOUR STATE. Just LOOK next door at NEW YORK . DO YOU WANT TO BECOME LIKE US??? Don’t let those fools VOTE away your FREEDOMS.
Vermont has a unwavering conservative rock, Not,as a current Governor with a very Leftist legislature, turns out Mr Governor is a RINO.
Next election Governor Benedict Scott / RINO ,if he doesn’t face a primary challenger is going to find himself a Governor in need of voters and thus the Governorship.
