Free Trade Tariffs
Free Trade For Me, None For Thee

USA –-(Ammoland.com)- Free Trade For Me, None For Thee.

President Trump was willing to lower tariffs if the other countries are willing to lower theirs, but none are willing, so far, to make trade truly fair for everyone.

    1. Before taking President Trump’s claims literally please do the research to establish facts, even US sources will tell you that the Nafta agreement (USA and Canada and within certain limits Mexico) is about as close to a fair deal as you can get. The problem with dairy products is that Canada’s Supply Management rules for Canadian producers ensures that supply matches consumption in Canada. Consumers pay a little more for milk, cheese, eggs, chicken and turkey but price stability without government subsidising producers, is maintained for both consumers and producers. Farmers in Wisconsin who enjoy a certain amount of federal government subsidies, maximise their production well in excess of what is needed to sustain the population, and expect to ship the excess into Canada. If there were no tariffs, the Wisconsin dairy farmers’ marginal cost of production would be almost zero; hardly a level playing field with Canadian dairy producers.

      1. Cecil Chabot – Though what you say may be true, were would the world be without the US as it piggy bank and food bank? We are $21 Trillion plus in debt and the would could not give a damn as long as we give them money and food. Time for the world to wake up and remember what happens when the US goes into a funk and doesn’t care what happens outside the US (check into world politics before WWII)!
Either it’s fair for everyone or it’s not fair at all!

    2. They have had it too good too long and giving it up is not in their plans. MAGA and America First has become a realization. Either play fairly or don’t play is Trump’s way and they don’t like it. Wah!
