Greeley, PA – (Ammoland.com) – Thompson Auto-Ordnance, maker of the famous “Tommy Gun” and other iconic firearms throughout history, is happy to announce that the new Deluxe model Thompson in 9mm is now shipping to dealers and distributors.

Since 1915, the “Tommy Gun” has been manufactured in .45 ACP. Kahr Firearms Group brought innovation to life when they recently announced plans for the 9mm Thompson model T5-9L20.

The 9mm version is an original design by Thompson Auto-Ordnance in-house engineers, using the original Thompson platform. After much anticipation, the 9mm Thompson is now shipping.

The 9mm model features all the classic details of John Thompson’s original. The frame and receiver are machined from a solid billet of aluminum, and the buttstock, grip and vertical fore grip are all made from American Walnut. The T5-9L20 is offered with one 20-round stick magazine. The finned barrel measures 16.5 inches and 18 inches with the compensator. It has an overall length of 41 inches and features a front blade sight and an open rear adjustable. The MSRP is $1364.

Do you make the M 1 carbine chambered for the 9mm round ,?

Is the 9mm holding up OK as it is a new model and a 45 cal is very wild in shot spacing but has great up close fire-power. I am leaning towards the 45. What do you think and what is the price of each model? Thank you. John of J&S Timber in SE Alaska.

Whatever variety of toy one desires, though for considerably less than that, a good rifle or pistol in that caliber can be obtained. I would not spend my money thusly, best of luck to those who do.

You will notice that they do not mention the weight. This aluminum version in 9 mm weighs 10 pounds. The Tommy gun is an American icon and pistol caliber carbines are very popular right now. The obvious thing to do is register it as a short barreled rifle and cut the barrel down. I don’t know how much weight you would lose cutting off 8 inches of barrel.
