USA –-( Nicaragua's Daniel Ortega.

Nicaragua has a history of violent civil war, and while today’s geopolitical circumstances are quite different from those of the 1980s, there is a very real possibility of a prolonged violent confrontation.

The consequences would be tragic. The potential for a spillover effect on already weak states such as Honduras and El Salvador is real.

    1. DO’s net worth is reported at $50M USD. How is it possible for a staunch Marxist to acquire wealth like this. His crowd overthrew Somoza for his dictatorial tendencies, but I guess if you’re a Commie exploitation is OK.

      1. It actually is since so much of their wealth came from oil and so many American companies invested there and then were nationalized. We don’t live in a bubble. It’s also great fun when Liberals have pointed to them as a success story of socialism to say “really?”.
