Ruger Signs Army Veteran Trevor Baucom to Professional Shooting Team

U.S.A.-(Ammoland.com)- Sturm, Ruger & Company, Inc. (NYSE: RGR) proudly announces the signing of disabled United States Army veteran Trevor Baucom to its professional shooting team. The signing of Baucom marks the fifth addition to Team Ruger in its debut season.

“We are honored to have Trevor as a member of our competitive shooting team,” said Chris Killoy, Ruger’s President and CEO. “His sheer grit and determination make him the perfect addition to Team Ruger.”

With a distinguished 13-year service record, Baucom is the first former military member to join Team Ruger. He received a medical discharge after he was injured in a helicopter crash while serving in Afghanistan during his fourth deployment. The injury, which occurred during a nighttime assault mission, left the Blackhawk command pilot paralyzed from the waist down.

After recovering from his injury, Trevor began training with the goal of competing at the 2011 NRA National Action Pistol Championship. Since then, he has accomplished that goal and has also competed in the NRA’s Bianchi Cup, IDPA matches, SCSA Pistol Tournament Championships and USPSA multi-gun matches. Trevor views his disability not as a handicap, but as an opportunity to inspire other, similarly disabled shooters. In that vein, he continues to provide valuable input to the NRA and IDPA in making the shooting sports more accessible for all disabled shooters.

“I am proud to represent such a great company that not only makes some of the most reliable firearms in the industry, but is also committed to supporting Army veterans like myself.”
