Ft Collins, CO –-(Ammoland.com)- “Who succumbs to a compulsion to violate moral commandments is as much a prisoner as one who believes he is bound to obey them.” ~ Barnes

A Washington Post Article on the recent Oklahoma shooting, in which an sociopathic active-murderer was shot and killed by a legally armed citizen(s) before he could murder more innocent people:

This “story” is little more than a leftist (of course), political editorial, implicitly anti-gun and anti-legally-armed-citizen, beginning to end.

The authors “equate” a sociopathic, active murderer with two lawfully-armed citizens, heroes, who intervened (at great personal risk) in order to prevent additional murders. WP authors obviously believe that anyone who owns a gun, or (Heaven forbid!) carries one, is automatically a criminal.

The authors contemptuously dismiss accolades heaped upon these two courageous, lawfully-armed citizens, by local law enforcement and the general public.

The authors insist that these two lawfully-armed citizens should never have taken any action, because the scene was “confusing and unclear.” It makes me wonder how many “clear and non-confusing” gunfights these arrogant Marxists have ever seen.

Naturally, the authors denigrate the NRA (a requirement of the liberal media), casually dismissing the “good-guy-with-a-gun” argument, because of course, all who own guns are automatically bad people.

The authors make snide comments about all legally-armed citizens. Yet, they themselves lack the stature to so much as stand in the shadow of the two heroes they so piously besmirch.

Liberal “reporters” are utterly incapable of honesty, much less objectivity. They hate genuine heroes, because a hero is something they can never be. These haters of guns and gun-owners would rather see innocent people murdered than have to report that active murderers have been thwarted by legally-armed citizen/heroes. They want guns for themselves, but keep their guns a “secret.” Simultaneously, they publicly, hypocritically, and oh so sanctimoniously, decry guns in the hands of the rest of us.

Such is the current soulless amorality of the Left.

“Unless you have a free press, there is no need to buy newspapers, and there is no need to watch the news, because there is no need to listen to lies!” ~ Mehmet Murat ildan

Unfortunately, we don’t!

When he mentioned a “Washington Post” article there was no mystery that it was going to be one sided and without merit. Amazing, it was exactly that.

One more instance where the writers of that pesky Second have their wisdom proven. They declared back then that “the security of a free state” rests in a well armed and skilled population. Thus the mandate that THE PEOPLE shall not have their preexisting right to arms infringed. Here we see two “people”, upon discovering themselves in a not-secure situation, put to good use the arms they had with them, thus restoring the “security of a free state” long before government actors could even arrive and begin to attempt to do the same. As to the “integrity” of WaPo and… Read more »

One of the BEST IDEAS I’ve heard in a long time!! As a New Jersey resident, I’ll never be allowed to defend myself outside my home without the certainty of a felony charge, like the two in OK did, and I’m barely allowed that same self defense in my own home! I can only imagine how either would feel if they or their loved ones were one of those two being car jacked and saved by these two Samaritans!

The writers sure pulled out all the Leftist, anti-right talking points. What if more than one “good guy” had a firearm, they would shoot each other and other innocent bystanders – that didn’t happen. What if the police arrive and don’t know who the “bad guy” is and shoot the “good guy(s)” – that didn’t happen. Trotting out only well-trained people should be allowed to carry – that would eliminate most LEOs from carrying, and how much training is needed to become well-trained? They even went so far as to state that since the shooter didn’t actually kill anyone, he… Read more »

As I read the article, I gat the distinct impression that the author was hoping for a sick, morbid outcome in which the two good legal carriers unwittingly shot each other! Why else would the topic get any coverage at all? Or am I just reading too far between the (liberal, left-wing) lines again?

The press/media should be held to the same level of accountability for their abuses of the 1st Amendment that gun owners are held to if they abuse the 2nd Amendment. A “retraction and/or apology is not adequate. There should be fines, jail time and the convicted offender never again allowed to publish or broadcast again.

I’ve learned that pretty much whatever a Liberal says is a lie. Their ALWAYS working an angle and there are NO limits at all to the tactics they’ll use. Political hustlers.

My first question was why did Washington Post reporters care what happened in fly-over country by a couple of deplorables defending others from a nut who was shooting innocent people as they were trying to get some food and mind their own business.
Answer gun haters can’t stand a good guy with a gun stopping a bad guy with a gun.

Pretty much have to agree with the author’s point of view. It was a demeaning, almost insulting article about two individuals risking their lives to save others. They make it sound like the two shooters were professionally trained and if a casual weekend shooter (one of the comments made) had been involved there were have been blood in the streets and everyone would have died or been shot. I’ve trained cops and most aren’t that well trained with firearms. They barely meet their qualification requirements every year and shoot only when it’s required by department policy. Shooting is a perishable… Read more »

http://www.frontsight.com Dr Piazza has a standing offer to train law enforcement personnel at no cost to the departments. If every LEO went through his 4 day handgun course they would be trained orders of magnitudes better than their department training courses.

You know, when I finished reading that article myself I got the same impression as Mr. Farnam. The articles author would rather have written about how many died because the two men who intervened should have been better witnesses instead. The legal carriers did what they thought was necessary. Then when the uniforms showed up they surrendered to allow them to do what they do best. Of corse the administration is going to warn against people taking things into their own hands, but no amount of philosophizing will change the fact that this could have been worse. Playing the should’ve,… Read more »
