USA – -(AmmoLand.com)- Having first attended the SCI Convention in Las Vegas in 1986 when there were around 450 booths, Ross Parker and his organization have grown Call of Africa Galleries into one of the world’s premier nature art galleries.
“Throughout the years, the SCI community has been an integral part of growing our business,” says Parker. “We have also been an integral part of growing SCI and many of the state’s chapters, and that makes us and our SCI family proud.”
Call of Africa Galleries will be showcasing the 2019 collection of artists and their works at the SCI Hunters’ Convention, Jan. 9-12, 2019 in Reno, Nevada. Collectors will be excited to see original paintings by John Seerey Lester and David Langmead that will be featured in their upcoming books. See some of John’s incredible new historic hunting scenes. James Stroud has introduced some bird paintings, along with his animals, in his unique style of thickly textured canvases. With a singularly original style, he has become the first wildlife artist to paint with a large palette knife. His work is often referred to as sculpture in paint.
Margaret Gradwell, South Africa’s premier landscape painter, and former head professor at the University of Fine Art in Pretoria, brings vibrant color to their booth in this year’s stunning collection.
Masai paintings and sketches by Kim Donaldson, along with master works by award winning artist Jaco Van Schalkwyck, include a new breathtaking leopard painting and black maned lions drinking.
Sculptors include new works by Zimbabwean artist, Mopho Gonde, who elevates wildlife carving to a level worthy of European Masters. New works include a dramatic carving of a Crocodile ambushing an unsuspecting kudu.
Due to an increasing demand by their collectors for more contemporary work, Call of Africa Galleries has expanded their collection of stylized bronzes by world famous bronze artist, Loet Vanderveen, the most collected wildlife artist in history. Never before seen pieces will be featured this year.
There will be Murano glass works available by Italian Master artist Gianluca Vidal. They have expanded their collection of the Avoova line; a unique home décor line from South Africa featuring vases, bowls, platters, picture frames, candle holders and wine coolers, all handmade and inlaid with ostrich egg shells. Call of Africa Galleries is currently the sole distributor for this line in the United States which is hugely popular in South Africa.
Please stop by to visit them in Booth #2207 to see these incredible pieces.
