The ONLY reason this kabuki-circus shutdown (which I am against, obtw) is possible is because Congress has not done it’s job. One of congress’ primary responsibilities is the Federal budget – but they’ve not passed one in many years. Instead, we get these stupid “continuing resolutions” so no one has to make a hard choice. So – hold Congress (both houses) in session, every day, until a balanced budget is hammered out and passed – if Trump signs it, great. If not, over-ride his veto. In either case, with a budget in place, there cannot be a shutdown. The shutdown… Read more »

As an exgoverment employe, I have been laid off, cut backs etc. no one cared or did anything. I live in Oregon, if the wall is not built we will be in total ruin from the massive illegal immigration, socialism in government, they now have a super majority in state government and they are now able to pass the massive bunch of gun control laws. Which the public can not stop with ballot measures or any other means! These laws are worse than California’s laws, 5 rd mags lol. We need to suck it up! Stick with trump! Or we… Read more »

Hello? Were talking about the President Trump shut down discussing, debating, arguing the democrat agenda. We need to discuss why all of a sudden they wont fund a border wall instead so we stay on track of the REAL ISSUE. As far as they will tunnel under it, they can and will but that takes alot more time than walking across an imaginary line and with GPR we will find it. As far as, no paycheck, I had to deal with it while legislators got paid. I hated it but my bank gave me cash advance for free up to… Read more »

The president has given in to them before and this time he has said no until a deal is made. If the Nancy/Chucky show could come up with something besides drones, which only count their new voters, I think he would consider it. I really believe he is trying to do something for the country and keep the drugs, rape, robbery, killings and disease on the southern side of the border. We didn’t birth these people and we have no obligation to nurse them until they can do bad things to us. Maybe they should DEMAND help from some other… Read more »

It might be good if at least certain amount is funded over a course of the years it will take to build a wall. If all funds are granted up front but it could be over time, seems it would be a win win. I do not think any President regardless of political party should be able to shut down govt cause they don’t get their way. What happens if that money is spent and the immigrants tunnels underground. Then how good is the wall. May be a matter of time. I am pro gun if anyone thinks my comment… Read more »

Line in the sand time Marbut. And don’t lose sight of the fact that it’s the left making all these federal employees not get a paycheck. Liberal scum are afraid of losing their voter base.

On the republican side, Sen. Rob Portman of Ohio proposed legislation that would automatically activate a stopgap spending bill known as a continuing resolution. This way 800K+ workers are not screwed while the government get their act together, if ever. As our illustrious President is a ‘business borne citizen’ he should know better on operating a business. The GWD.

@Notting, Is the Green Rat Fink implying that these nonessential workers will not get paid? They will. Ergo they are getting a vacation not attributable to their annual leave. All the essential workers from this 1/4th of the federal government are still at work. The other 3/4ths of the federal government are already funded. Duties that these nonessential workers do can be, and some duties already are, shifted to people that are on the job.
One might even ask, ” If these are nonessential federal workers, why are they employed in the first place?”

@WB: Your 100% correct! Why are they employed? That’s because most do not how Barry Sotero put almost half of the working nation on the government payrolls at the taxpayer expense. Something that is worse than make-work-programs because they were not temporary and guaranteed most likely were all commies hired by by commies in govt.

The’GreenRatFink’ is probably one of them.
