Firearms Regulation Always Misses the Target

Gun Confiscation

U.S.A.-(Ammoland.com)- The mass murderer at the Mandalay Bay Casino in Las Vegas used something called a bump stock. In theory, a bump stock allows a gun to fire faster. Some politicians say that is too fast. In fact, the fastest shooter alive today fires a semi-automatic gun so quickly that it rivals some machine guns. Government regulators, and some anti-gun Democrat politicians, then concluded that civilians should be denied the use of all semi-automatic weapons. They claim these guns can shoot like machine guns, at least some of the time. That regulation and laws like it miss the point entirely.

If civilians should be disarmed because these weapons are too dangerous then we should disarm local, state, and federal law enforcement as well. If these guns, and I’ll let you choose which ones you want to ban, are too dangerous for law-abiding citizens to own then they are far too dangerous for the government to have. As Senator Feinstein said, “Turn them all in,” only this time we’re including the politicians and the police as well. That proposal is based on facts and is less far-fetched than it sounds.

Senate Democrats Unveil the Assault Weapons Ban of 2019
Senate Democrats Unveil the Assault Weapons Ban of 2019

This is what we know from the data we have.

Licensed concealed carry holders are more law-abiding and less criminally inclined than the police. The average citizen is less likely to commit suicide than a police officer. The average gun owner is significantly less likely than the police to shoot the wrong person. Licensed concealed carry holders in the US are among the most law-abiding and non-violent group of people on the planet. If the most law-abiding and peaceful group on earth is too dangerous to have guns then so is everyone else. The largest mass murders in US history were committed by the US government.

Let the politicians and judges go first. Disarm the guards at the state capital. Disarm the bailiff at the courthouse. How many celebrities will be for gun-control if it means giving up their private security guards at their gated mansions?

Eliminate the legal exceptions that allow legislators to go armed while ordinary citizens must be defenseless. If you think certain guns, magazines or firearms accessories should be banned, then show us the way and lead with your example. If the rules don’t apply to the politicians and the people guarding them, then gun regulation is simply another government power grab.

Tyrants always want to disarm their subjects, but never themselves.

Look where her trigger finger is,She is so smart about firearms that she puts her trigger finger ON the trigger. I think people like her are the biggest cause of so called accidental shootings she should be declared a threat to mankind.

Heres something. Ask any of these gun banning politicians what law would stop criminals. Name anything. Even back in the 1880’s when they hung someone for stealing a horse or rustling cattle it didn’t stop them from breaking the law, . so what makes the gun banning politicians think any law will stop them now? Did you notice the gun banning politicians used to say we dont want to ban hunting guns, not they dont even say that anymore. Hell, they even want to ban bolt action rifles ( too accurate) even banning scopes and laser sights( saying this will… Read more »

PRIMARY RULE: Treat all guns as if they are loaded. In the picture, she immediately failed that rule. There are three secondary rules by which to employ/enforce the Primary Rule. Secondary rule #1: Always point the muzzle in a safe direction. Secondary rule #2: Keep your finger off the trigger until prepared to actually shoot. Secondary rule #3: Know the target, and what is all around it. She immediately failed all three secondary rules. Any range officer would instantly kick that witch (or, one of them “itch” words) off the firing range, and bounce her fat butt unceremoniously across the… Read more »

The Las Vegas was closed TO SOON with to many UNANSWERED questions. Maybe to many COVER-UPS? Why didn’t the ATF get to see the firearms used in the shooting???????

The Photos of the bump stocks on the AR’s were staged to cover-up the real fact that the liberal democraps staged this shooting in order to make it easier to attempt gun bans in Nevada. Liberals aren’t about saving lives their all about power, authority & their New World Order. What other reason did this story fade sooo fast, James Comey must of been in charge of the investigation & handled it the same way he handled Hitlery.

It doesn’t matter if the police and guards, etc are disarmed, THEY aren’t mentioned in the 2A. As for Bumpstocks, there is no proof that they were used in that hotel shooting because the FBI won’t let ATF see the evidence or publish it. What are they afraid of being known? So tell me, are hotels taller than grassy knolls?

My whole thing about that shooting is/was; “who brings 10’s of guns to a one man shooting spree?”

Something just not quite right about that one.

If the bill actually bans the guns by name, wouldn’t the work around be to simply name them something else? For example bill bans AR-15, so manufacturer names it “The Hunter’s Friend” and so on.

Feinstein will be met with more civil disobedience to any more gun regulations anyway. California. “Commiefornia” managed a whole 3% compliance with their latest assault weapons registration plan involving “bullet button assault weapons”. Apparently even Californians don’t like their own state government.

It misses because honest concern is not the real target–elimination of Second Amendment rights is the target’

As long as these politicians do not honor the oath of office they took and enforce the current laws on the books they need to keep their collective mouths shut about any new laws.

“As long as politicians do not honor their oath of office,” they NEED to be tried, and (upon conviction) must be publicly hanged.

The only reason for gun control laws is for some politician being able to say ‘I did something, vote for me cause it feels good’. Time and time again throughout history gun control laws have proven to be ineffective, but facts continue to be ignored by the weak minded fools that vote for and elect these snake oil salesmen.

Gun Control is about Control; Gun Violence is about Violence.

When we take the Gun out of the equation, what’s left is Government in Control to do Violence against the unarmed.

Good eye, I saw that as well. I couldn’t tell if the safety lever was up or not. She’s the prime example of carelessness and ignorance.

Ronald, whether or there is an external safety or whether or not it is loaded, one of the basic rules is do not put your finger on the trigger until one is ready to fire. And that comes after aiming at the target and knowing what is in front of and behind the target. Also, bear in mind the caveat that safeties are mechanical devices that can fail – don’t rely on them to work. Also you may “believe” the safety is on or the firearm is safe/unloaded, but with just about every ND, the excuse is “I thought the… Read more »

Someone else did something wrong so everyone else should be punished for it.

If anyone gets arrested for DUI’s everyone loses their license.
