The Humane Society of the United States Gets a “D” Grade ~ VIDEO

Center for Consumer Freedom asks people to help their local pet shelters.

WASHINGTON, DC – -( During the 91st annual Academy Awards this Sunday, the Center for Consumer Freedom is running an ad recognizing the Humane Society of the United States for its own recent accolade: a “D” rating from the charity evaluator CharityWatch. This rating was earned by HSUS for its poor management of donor funds.

According to tax records, HSUS has put nearly $50 million into offshore funds in the Caribbean—money it could use to help animals.

The commercial, which will air in the Washington, D.C. market, asks viewers not to donate to the Humane Society of the United States and instead choose local pet shelters. HSUS does not run a single pet shelter and is not affiliated with local humane societies, despite its name. Much like Hollywood, HSUS is recovering from its own “#MeToo” scandal, with its CEO Wayne Pacelle stepping down last year—though the board of directors that voted to keep him and close an investigation into his alleged sexual misconduct is still largely intact.

Will Coggin, managing director of the Center for Consumer Freedom, commented: “The Humane Society of the United States deserves detention for putting money ahead of animals. Animal lovers should give to their local shelters, not to bloated national organizations that spend their money on big executive salaries, pensions, and lobbyists.”

    1. PETA is trying to shut down the Iditarod dog sled races…
They cited how many dogs have died in recent years, but they like to take your support and vacation with it while the slaughter animals themselves….

    2. They really figured this thing out, the people that formed these animal rights groups, because people like animals and they pulled on the people’s heart strings to get donations they use just to scam the donors. That sounds like the Wounded Vet’s organization started to head toward.

      1. They have been doing this since I can barely remember when..

Human suffering was the old way of scamming people..
Drought, famine, pestilence… even trafficking women and children, has been targeted by the thieves to get filthy rich..
Since some people have stopped caring about children, so the crooks have turned to animal/tree hugger/clean air-water charities…

    3. Roughly 40% of Russia’s GDP is in oil & natural gas exports. The U.S. ramping up and becoming a net exporter of oil and natural gas hurts their bottom line. So they’ve funneled millions into U.S. environmentalist groups that protest drilling and fracking, and that try to stop pipelines and the building of refineries and so forth. This is the real “Russian meddling” you never hear about because the truth would damage the anti-American left, not Trump.

Be very careful of any environmentalist groups you may asked to donate to as well as any charities. Some fit the literal definition of “Domestic Enemy of the U.S. Constitution” very well, as some receive substantial foreign funding to protest / fight against our own energy and agricultural production and such as per above. We no longer need to kiss Arab butt or go to war over oil, and we can righteously exclude Venezuela’s oil because we can now produce enough to meet our own needs without it. U.S. corporate media neglects to mention this fundamental seismic sea change in our foreign relations, because – gasp – it might make Trump look good. As usual, anything that runs counter to the carefully manufactured artificial reality known as the media narrative is ignored. Another term for this is censorship.

Remember, when there is a Republican in the White House, anything good for the country is bad for the democrats. Therefore, the only media coverage we can expect on anything positive during such times can be best described as…

      …No News At 11.

      1. The leftist/enviro nuts groups, AKA: Anti Trump, and Anti 2A groups, have also taken aim at the Oil/Gas/Mining/Manufacturing Industries by twisting the climate change theories to blame carbon fuel and CO2 as the cause of global warming. They are seeking/obtaining funding/activists/promoting through many of the outdoor/adventure/travels/recreation/manufacturing agencies as well…
They take historical biographies of explorers and twist the commentary/narrative to push their agendas.

    4. Most charities don’t put a great deal of the money towards the people they say they help. Always, ALWAYS check on the rating before throwing your hard earned money around.

    5. Getting so that you can’t trust any charities anymore. I donate directly to my friends who have pets that require expensive medical care.

    6. Don’t even give to local Humane Societies. Typical salaries for executives at those “small” shelter are around $300,000 per year, plus benefits.

Better to find a rescue group for a breed you like. They tend to be much less bloated in their salaries and expenses.

    7. HSUS supports far-left causes and is rabidly antigun. Not surprised they’re playing games shuffling their donations around, or that they’re not trying to help animals. Leftists ruin everything they touch!!
