Colorado Counties Declaring Second Amendment Sanctuary Status At lightning Speed

Colorado Second Amendment Sanctuary Zones
Colorado Counties Declaring Second Amendment Sanctuary Status At lightning Speed

Colorado – -(AmmoLand.com)- It’s a battle that’s playing out across the nation: states that are pushing gun control legislation directly against the will of the citizens are witnessing entire counties push back en masse, with sheriff’s standing up for the rights of the citizens and county commissioners voting to declare their county “Second Amendment Sanctuaries“.

These sanctuary counties are passing resolutions stating that no funding will be used to enforce unconstitutional laws and that the sheriff will uphold his oath to the constitution instead of enforcing laws that violate the Second Amendment. Click here to read full article…

It should come as no surprise with HB19-1177 – “Red Flag” Emergency Risk Protection Orders – looming, Colorado is following suit – and the counties are adding up fast.

Here’s where Colorado stands right now:

  • Teller County: Passed resolution March 7, 2019
  • Conejos County: Passed resolution March 7, 2019
  • Kit Carson County: Passed resolution March 6, 2019
  • Weld County: Passed resolution March 6, 2019
  • Moffat County: Passed resolution March 5, 2019
  • Montezuma County: Passed resolution Feb 28, 2019
  • Custer County: Passed resolution Feb 28, 2019
  • Kiowa County: Passed resolution Feb 28, 2019
  • Fremont County: Passed resolution Feb 26, 2019
  • Baca County: Passed resolution March 7, 2013, and a second one on June 28, 2018
  • Rio Blanco County: Passed resolution May 21, 2018
  • Otero County: Passed resolution in 2013, although they commissioners and sheriff are refusing to draft language specific to HB19-1177

The following counties are considering implementing similar resolutions, and many have meetings scheduled to vote on the measure:

  • Prowers County
  • El Paso County
  • Logan County
  • Huerfano County
  • Elbert County
  • Delta County
  • Garfield County
  • Sedgwick County
  • Mesa County
  • Douglas County
  • Larimer County

Too bad the little lamb sheriffs of southern NJ don’t get with this program.

DaveW

This has happened in California, but the commies in office are still filing new gun control laws. Of course, it’s the rural counties doing it and our votes are nowhere near as powerful as the progressive votes coming from the major metropolitan zones (LA, SF Bay Area, Sacramento, etc.). Still we will keep on fighting… and hoping for that SCOTUS case that will nail down our rights and hand these liberals a slap down.

JW

NJ is just a total liberal-dominated shit home…can’t wait to the hell out of this place.

Elliot

Park County passed Resolution No. 2019-15 on March 7th declaring Park county and sanctuary city against red flag laws.

Raymond Hudson

Mike H is just another citizen enjoying the Freedoms this county offers! Not a care in the world about trying to ensure we stay Free, or what it took to create these freedoms in the first place! It’s not just about guns Mike, but without them, you can Not hope to keep our Rights as Free Citizens. ” We the people are the rightful Masters of both Congress and the Courts, Not to overthrow the Constitution, but to overthrow the men who would pervert the Constitution!” Abe Lincoln

MikeH

So, if a law is on the books that you don’t like, it’s ok to ignore it, but you’re law-abiding gun owners. It must be confusing to be a gunnut.

George P

Not at all. They just believe in the Constitution and applying the Bill of Rights to ALL American citizens.

Mike

The problem with the law is it violates our right to due process. A bitter ex could claim you are unstable and the cops could get an anti-gun judge to take away your property. All this without due process. You’ve been found guilty of nothing and your rights are taken away.

Gregory Romeu

Had you paid attention in 7th grade Civics Class, you would have found out that the Supremacy Clause in Article VI covers all of this…

Mark Rybeck

The 2A is in The Bill of Rights, amendments add to The Constitution. Have you even READ it? THAT IS THE LAW ALREADY; no need for any of this other BS that the Commies try to cramp down our throats.

Dick Brown

mike h, how about They take away your freedom of speech, then we wouldn’t have to read your B S !!. Do you even know what this law is all about? By the way, what is a gun nut?

Adam

If they take away our second amendment rights they will be coming after his freedom of speech and I know I’ll be laughing at him because he won’t be able to say or do anything about it !! And no one will be able to protect themselves from it.

Mitch

You know the nut that holds the stock to the frame.hahah

Brad

Fuck you asshole!! I’m sick of reasoning with you liberal fucktards go eat a dick with your other faggot friends!!

GruntVet

I’m sure you are living in a liberal sanctuary city for illegal imigrants… and probably voted in favor of it. Being a libtard must be confusing

Joshua M

MikeH – I guess if we were to look at it from your perspective. Isn’t that what this whole thing is about? Liberals don’t like the constitution so they create “laws” to get rid of parts of the constitution that they don’t agree with and they just ignore it. So to answer your question. When a fake law gets made, and can not be enforced by the constitution which can not be amended. Yes, to stay as the United States was made we must ignore the fake laws that are created in order to protect the folks who are ignorant… Read more »

The Green Watch Dog

A number of counties in New Mexico are accepting to be sanctuary entities as well. This past Friday, Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham signed into law the first of many gun control laws. She is accusing those counties of “fear-mongering,” and claimed that the National Rifle Association is behind these actions. I would not be surprised if she uses creative ways to force those counties to comply with the newly enacted law.

Get Out

How will law enforcement know if buyers and sellers are even bothering to follow the law? These anti-gun politicians are passing laws that can’t be enforced!

I read an article on Washington post the other night, the writer was sounding the alarm for a possible upcoming civil unrest in this country. Now, in this piece the author stated that President Trump was the sole catalyst for this dark division in the nation, and that his presidency and actions are responsible for the rhetoric concerning an upcoming civil war. PURE hogwash. The relentless march by liberal Democrats, a few turncoat Republicans, as well as Bernie Sanders and people like George Soros and Bloomberg, this march towards taking away our Constitutionally-backed God-given rights is what has caused the… Read more »

@Wild Bill, looks like Portland has quite a few roaming around?

RichardWyo

This is not happening in Wyoming, no permit required for open or concealed carry. Everyone I know carries at one time or another.

Steve

No “gun problem” here in Wyoming!
Everyone has 10 or 12!

joefoam

This may be the only way to stop the ‘democratic tyranny’ the urban dwellers with large voting blocks have foisted on the suburban and rural areas. I hope it goes ‘viral’, maybe then the politicians might see that gun control is not a winning issue and stop with the passage of vote seeking gun laws.

Charles Moore

How ’bout we start doing state and federal elections on a county-by-county electoral college-like basis? Each one is one vote. Hmmm?

I am 69 years old, a retired Airline Captain. Served as a Grunt with the 173rd Airborne Brigade in Vietnam 1967-1970. I know how to use my weapons and am well stocked. Dying in Vietnam would have been a waste of my life. Dying here on my own property defending the Constitution will be a privilege and my duty as I have sworn to. I don’t go looking for trouble but I am ready if it finds me. I am attending a workshop on Monday morning with our county commissioners and Sheriff to hopefully make this another 2nd Amendment Sanctuary… Read more »

(PS: It’s “lightning”, not “lightening”.
Lightning happens very quickly.
Lightening is something you accomplish by skeletonizing a bolt carrier group or using a pencil profile barrel or leaving the Picatinny coffee maker at home.)

Always a nick picking critic of the English language. Find something better to complain about.

Charles Moore

Nit picking. . . . . Oops, now there I go! (sorry . . . . !)

willie joe

agreed

Mike

Thank you, Bob. It’s not ‘nit-picking.’
If you cannot display command of the English language, you look like a moron. If you cannot take someone pointing out your mistake in a light-hearted manner, you affirm that impression. If once the mistake is pointed out and validated you refuse to correct it, then you confirm that impression.

Jeff

Wrong Mike, Bob is a JACKASS, and so are you! Stay on the subject, it’s about our FREEDOM, not the perfect command of the English language. No one will ever take my FREEDOM , or my CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS! Basic fact, no laws which are contrary to the U.S. Constitution are legal! You don’t have to speak perfect English to say FUCK YOU AND YOUR ANTI-GUN LAWS!

Bruce Dzamba

This is good news as I thought Colorado was going the anti-gun route. Vote as many anti-gunners out as possible!

Timothy-Allen Albertson

SIC SEMPER TYRANNIS!!!

Bob Koceja

Colorado’s first mistake was to allow the pot-heads to infiltrate the state.

michael

No! Pot is not the problem, no more than booze. Socialism is the problem.

Charles Moore

Pot smokers tend towards being and voting liberal.

Jeff

If that’s true, then the stoned ass LIBTARDS will certainly be easy ass targets, when the shit hits the fan!! SMOKE IT IF YOU GOT IT LIBTARDS!!

Michael Enderle

People have a First Amendment right to drug use like people have a second amendment right to weapons.

Macofjack

Let’s hope more counties in more states do the same thing. Then watch the liberals go nuts figuring out how to fix the problem THEY created!

Ben

We need so much more of this. Thank you to the Men and Woman who stand for the Constitution of our Nation.

Martin

Colorado has come under the sway of the kommiefornians fleeing the former “Golden State” and spreading their poison across the country. The People need to wake up and realize that the Democrat-Socialists are completely sincere when they tell you that you belong to the state. They want to control absolutely everything in your life right down to where you live, what you wear and eat. That starts with “Red Flag Laws” and the National Popular Vote which denies smaller, less-populated states an equal voice in Presidential Elections, turning the vote over to the East and West Coasts as well as… Read more »

Witold Pilecki

I have always said, it will not be local law enforcement and probably not the National Guard coming to confiscate your firearms, but the plethora of unelected, unaccountable, state and federal “militarized” alphabet agencies. They, like the blue helmet brigade, can feel free to die in the line of duty at my property line.

Hey Libtards….how you liking sanctuary proclamations NOW?

Greg K

Or, how about a very large group of Non-Citizens already residing in the country that could be granted the gift of Citizenship, if they performed that very task?

Wotold Pilecki

ANYONE that comes looking for someone else’s property, on the orders of others that won’t perform such a task themselves, shall suffer the same fate. I know I won’t hesitate to ask about their motives first.

Speaking of illegals hiding in sanctuary cities/states….feel free to pick up the slack for law enforcement that won’t call ICE, and call them yourself to report such persons. (866) 347-2423 24 hour ICE tip hotline.

Dan in Detroit

It probably won’t do any good. The issue isn’t that the feds don’t know that a wanted illegal is in custody, it’s that the local agencies either don’t have enough evidence to hold them until the feds arrive, or are being ordered to release them before the maximum hold time due to cost/capacity.
I don’t imagine you could get away with “citizen’s arrest” and holding somebody until the feds show up… that would likely be unlawful imprisonment, and a violation of the illegal immigrant’s civil rights.

Charles Moore

Got land and a backhoe?

mikeL

@ WP, ask hell. Won’t be any time for questions. Just sayin’.

Phil in TX

Thanks for the posting of the ICE Tip Hotline, WP. I will be sure to make use of it as required!

Park County Commissioners approved resolution March 7th.

Elliot

Really? I’ve been looking for that information. Do you have the resolution number by chance?

Larry Smith

It is time now for the people of this country to take a stand for the Constitution of The United States of America. Make no mistake about it, the people have had enough of the beaurocrates in Washington and States that try to impose their will upon us. We are tired of it!

Clark Kent

Yes, those pesky ‘beaurocrates’. Perhaps they are all related to Socrates?

You are such a Super being and editor.

Outstanding! Washington state, New Mexico and Colorado for sure and I’ve heard that other states are following suit. This may be the beginning of what has been needed in this country since 1968 when the gun B.S. began and the anti-gunners got their start. We can only hope and pray that this trend will continue across the nation and that it’s not too late.

Greg K

About 4 or 5 years ago when Colorado recalled some legislators over gun legislation, I forwarded the notion that should a new civil war break out, it will probably be in Colorado or right here in River City WA.

I can tell you that people I don’t even know, have approached me in stores to talk about these things. Maybe I give off a certain vibe, IDK, but they are talking…God forbid the day they quit “Talking” that’s the precursor to a playground fight every time.

Lynn S.

I concur and I imagine our Green Gov. Inslee notified your local sheriff’s Dept. as he did ours here that only Libtards and Democrats can have sanotary cities, states and counties as they see fit.

Hypocritical Fools they are.

Dave in Fairfax

They got their BS started 35 years before that in earnest. The real attacks against freedom, in this country, started with Hamilton.

Clark Kent

Wow. You were around then? What was Benjamin Franklin like?

hippybiker

Clark. Maybe you should try reading some books. You could start with ‘Hamilton’s Curse’ by Dr. Thomas DiLorenzo. You might find some facts you didn’t know existed.

4 County sheriffs in Nevada have now told the governor to shove it after the passage of UBC law last month. And more are on the way.

Jimbo66

I’m hoping that Michigan will join in the sanctuary business. I just found out that our state government is trying to pass red flag laws now too. What a shame. This has gone to far and I’m glad to see some leader’s that have taken a vow will stand up for it. All the elected officials swear to uphold the Constitution and then use it for toilet paper right after they walk into office, if not before. It’s time people realize that when you stand up and vow to defend something, you damn well better defend it or you’ll no… Read more »
