Red Flag Gun Grab Laws
Deadly Red Flag Bill Being Heard In U.S. Senate On March 26

Virginia – -( This Tuesday, March 26, 2019, the U.S. Senate Judiciary committee is going to be hearing a Red Flag gun-control/gun confiscation bill put in by Florida Republican Marco Rubio.  Yes, the Republican controlled Senate is going to hear a bill that a Republican put in.

President Trump said right after the Florida school massacre that he thought Red Flag laws were a good idea.

We need to let our Senators, hear from us on this AND the President and Vice President, too.  I think the President can be swayed if he learns the truth about what Red Flag laws really do and don't do.  The Vice President might be able to help, as he as the President's ear.

I know, I know – we in Virginia are not likely to sway either of our Senators.  But by reminding them in large numbers that we are here, we don't want any more gun control, and we are watching, that might at least slow down any pro-active gun control coming from them.  I'm thinking a Virginia Citizens Defense League protest at some of their district offices this year might also be in order.

Thanks to our sister organization, the Arizona Citizens Defense League, for setting up a special version of their Congressional contact system for us Virginians to use.  The Board is considering getting our own Congressional contact system.

Click here to send the pre-written message to Senators Kaine, Warner, President Trump, and Vice President Pence (NOTE:  uncheck “Email Opt-in” if you don't want to get future emails from the Arizona Citizens Defense League):

Let's get a few thousand emails headed their way to get their attention and to educate them as well!  We dare not ignore Red Flag bills.

Let's contact the Senate Majority Leader, Mitch McConnell, so he knows that gun owners do NOT want Red Flag laws.  He can help keep the bill from getting a Floor vote if it clears the committee.

Here's a link to his contact form on the web:

For the Topic, select “Congressional Rules and Procedures”

Suggested subject: “Please do not let any ‘Red Flag' gun bills get a vote on the Senate Floor!

Suggested message:

Extreme Risk Protection Orders, also known as “Red Flag” laws, such as S. 7, are about gun confiscation, not public safety.

Red Flag laws leave the “dangerous” person free to kill himself or others, as the law merely takes away his guns (assuming the police even find all his guns).  If a person is too dangerous to have guns, how is anyone safer if he is still walking around with the rest of us?  Red Flag laws also violate due process, as the accused doesn't have his day in court for weeks after his property (guns) has already been taken and he then has the almost impossible task of proving he's not dangerous.  How do you prove a negative?

Protect America's gun owners and the Constitution – don't let S. 7, or any other Red Flag bills, get to the Floor!

    1. There must be more restrictions applied to gun owners. Too many people think owning and carrying a gun makes them stronger, tougher, more of a man. These people are very dangerous. These are the people who should NOT possess a gun. Too many innocent people are being killed in America by Americans who for psychological reasons should not possess a gun. Psychological testing should be done and not permit people with inferiority complexes to possess a gun. Anybody who currently owns a gun should be made to take and pass such a psychological test. Anybody that does not take and pass such a test should have their guns confiscated for the safety of all Americans.

      1. strange that you feel any ‘psych’ tests would be any use if restricting the wrong people from owning a gun. Criminals and mental cases are the best at passing those ‘tests’ and that just opens the door to more restrictions and classifications against who is qualified and who is not-and the reasons why not- would just grow !

      2. Knives next with you? If it begins with “psy”, it AIN’T “of God”. You and your like are an abomination to FREEDOM.

      3. Well then we should do the same for people who drive? The National Safety Council says there are about 40,000 automobile related deaths a year. Data from the Gun Violence says the numbers of gun deaths (excluding suicide) was around 15,000. More people are dying from automobile related deaths than guns.

      4. Just so you will under stand that next time, if this law is passed, they can up the stakes even more. I went to some snoop sites to get info on a person I felt was trying to rip off an old lady. While there, I discover that I have a rating…not on citizenship, character, financial or any of the like . The rating was because I was a conservative and a “Christian”. I was in a type of rating that they may have to consider me some day or keep a watch on me. WHAT THE HECK…for being conservative and bible believer? This is how things progress. Some day if congress keeps passing this bull or you get a majority of people against the second amendment in the Senate and house, we all could end up on this list of anti American, anti constitutional, anti republic, anti capitalism. If that continued, we could all end up at internment camps. When will it stop. You go in for a mental evaluation if you want but, when will the criminal?

      5. …..And anyone who does not know or believe in the “Bill of Rights” & Constitution should be immediately deported to a Socialist Country of his/her choice. Free 1 way plane ride compliments of the American Tax Payers!

      6. So Jim, let me understand, you are advocating violence, gun violence, not just advocating it demanding it? You should definitely not have any guns or any other tool that you may be able to do harm with.

      7. Someone should shoot people who are this stupid to avoid future crimes. Anyone this dumb is a threat to society.

      8. Agreed, Jim DeCarlo. You are very wise to want to apply the science of Psychology to solve problems in society. That said, I’d say you need to go a bit father: we need this same psychological testing applied to all people in public office, lawyers, judges, doctors, police officers, every member of the military. How can we sit and let people who make life or death decisions on a daily basis run around with potential inferiority complexes? We could all be in grave danger. What exact form of psychological testing do you think would be most pertinent? Freudian psychoanalysis? Jungian dream analysis?

      9. @Jim DeClaro, First, define your terms. Second, there are no innocent people. Third psychology is not really a science. Fourth, confiscating peoples property makes no one safe. Fifth, stats do not support your position.

    2. The same date this is set to be heard the same type of bill will be heard in Tennessee and it is written by a republican, RINO. Send all the cross dressers home. No one needs or wants them and they should back up to get their last paycheck. RINO= useless.

    3. Filled out the Contact Form and submitted. Message to please wait. I waited. New message: this website unavailable due to maintenance.

    4. These Red Flag laws are nothing but a scam to apply more unconstitutional restrictions on gun owners. They are a dream come true for divorce lawyers and vindictive ex’s wanting to bleed their spouses even more, as well as anyone who has a disagreement with or bad dealings with someone who is a gun owner.

      1. My wife and I do not own any guns ourselves but these new unconstitutional proposals are not in United States best interest. I grew up in Nebraska and from the she of seven years old I was properly taught how to hunt for food by a friend’s father. I enjoy hunting and the meat it provides for myself and my family. I now live in an area where there is an abundance of deer and turkey which if I chose to buy a gun and hunting license it should be my constitutional right to hunt and eat either of them. These new proposals are dangerous because all it takes is a rumor to confiscate anyone’s rifles, shotguns, or handguns without due process which is unconstitutional. It also could pave the way for more unconstitutional gun grabs leaving Americans without any way to hunt for food or provide a way to insure that a corrupt government takeover doesn’t happen. It is all written in or Constitution and was put there for a reason and that is to protect our freedom and rights as a United States citizen. There are people from Europe telling American citizens to be careful that we the people ( U.S. citizens) don’t lose our rights to bear arms like what’s happened there to them. Do we really want a government that tells us that they are making our decisions for us for our own good. Do we really want a parent government telling us what we can or cannot think, do, or what they think is best for all of us, I don’t do you

    5. I intend to draft a letter and send it to Marco, and the others. Will not be your typical cut and paste. Will be from the heart and voice support of the majority of those who want, and demand safer communities.
If any of you are in the Oklahoma City area this week-end , we are having a March for Our Lives at the State Capitol. Last year we had over 4000 strong. I should be easily recognizable. Would love to converse on issues that are important to all.

      1. I, and others like me, are the ones that actually make our communities safer (along with the knowledge of the lowlife scum that we are out there).

Sometimes, your posts present a certain level of sanity and sound social doctrine; at other times, like today, you show your true colors.

Please, clear your head and learn truth.

    6. These red flag laws are spreading like a plague. Again the left has come up with a plan no judge is going to research or ignore.  A judge will automatically issue a confiscation order because it costs the accusers nothing to be wrong. Meanwhile the list of who’s asking about your guns is growing: Doctors, Cops, Welfare, Social Services and now Teachers. Then there’s that ex-spouse or lousy neighbor. What could possibly go wrong?

    7. Salute from Arizona Citizens Defense League. These Red Flag laws are on the books in a number of Blue Utopias like California and Maryland. So far they have been a disaster. LA Times, Sacramento Bee and San Jose Mercury News reported last fall an almost 75% failure rate of initial orders. I am aware of a case in Rialto CA where a fellow had guns seized in April of 2015, he beat the initial order at his 21 day mandatory cause hearing the judge ordered his property returned (San Bernardino County Superior Courts). Rialto PD has yet to return his guns, ammo and range gear. This is typical.

    8. Good morning, my opinion on the bill is “NO . NO! NO! NO!
      We have our 2nd amendment….
      We have background checks,
We have to register hand guns.
Enough of the gun grab agendas!
Criminals do not follow any laws let alone any new gun laws!!!!
      Stop!!! Just Stop!!!

    9. Has Rubio kissed his butt goodbye yet? If not, he needs to hurry because there’s only five days left. If this stupid thing should miraculously pass, he won’t be electable as a chicken sexer.

      1. Gene, I believe chicken sexers have much more value to society than Rubio. Rubio is just another RINO that needs to be put out to pasture.
