DU 2019 National Convention is Coming to Hawaii

82nd annual gathering will be held May 28-June 1 at the Hilton Waikoloa Village.

MEMPHIS, Tennessee – -(AmmoLand.com)- Ducks Unlimited will hold its 82nd annual national convention May 28-June 1, 2019, at the Hilton Waikoloa Village, Hawaii. The national convention is an annual gathering and business meeting for DU’s most dedicated volunteers, partners and donors.

This year’s gathering will include seminars, entertainment, conservation education, demonstrations, tours and more, including the prestigious Wings Over Wetlands Awards dinner, hosted by conservationist, environmental journalist and television personality Jeff Corwin. The second annual awards celebration is set for Friday night, May 30.

The Friday business session will feature guest speaker U.S. Secretary of the Interior David Bernhardt, and Saturday’s session will include a celebration of the successful completion of Ducks Unlimited’s record-breaking Rescue Our Wetlands campaign featuring Ducks Unlimited Major Donor and Chairman of Cox Enterprises Jim Kennedy.

“As I attend my last national convention as the CEO of Ducks Unlimited, I am forever grateful for the opportunity to help lead what I feel is the greatest conservation organization in the world,” Hall said. “For the last nine years, Ducks Unlimited has met or exceeded all our goals. The great work DU does to conserve waterfowl habitat, water, reduce flood and storm damage and clean our water supplies are producing a new and diverse support base. Ducks Unlimited exemplifies what people can accomplish when they dedicate themselves to a worthy cause and work cooperatively toward a common goal.”

Newly appointed DU CEO Adam Putnam will take the convention stage for the first time. Putnam, who replaces retiring DU CEO Dale Hall, was hired in April 2019. Hall will be honored at this year’s gathering.

“We have many things to celebrate in Hawaii,” DU’s new CEO Adam Putnam said. “We successfully completed our record-breaking Rescue Our Wetlands campaign under Dale’s leadership, thanks to our generous supporters and donors. I am honored to assume the responsibilities that come with the position of DU CEO, and I look forward to joining like-minded conservationists as we gather to celebrate our past and look to the future. We are going to have a great celebration on the Big Island.”

Special thanks to our proud partners First National Bank of Omaha for sponsoring this year’s convention.

    1. Why would DU waste it’s money in Hawaii?
Why would S&W be located in MA?
Why would Remington be located in NY?
      And on and on.
      This world is crazy!

    2. We have no duck hunting in Hawaii. There are ducks and a type of goose however all are protected. There is gamebird hunting allowed at times. Hawaii government is anti gun, uninformed ignorant liberal snowflakes run the government. We have 10 bullet magazine restrictions for pistols and Im sure restrictions on rifle magazines are in the works. Happy Hunting!

    3. “As I attend my last national convention as the CEO of Ducks Unlimited”

Maybe this is why it’s in Hawaii? Gotta get some while the gettin is good.

    4. PS……….is there any question???????

NO FIREARMS ORGANIZTIONS SHOULD PATRONIZE COMMIE BASTARD STATES. We should NEVER do business in hawaii AND new york, ct, commiefirnia, new jersey “and most places on the east coast”. Don’t visit and don’t do business with ANYONE domiciled there.

If you support the second amendment not only should you never visit those states but you should be doing business in free states and doing EVERYTHING POSSIBLE to deprive the bastard states of revenue. Don’t do taxable transactions with bastatrd states………and I would also argue to not do business with firearms and related companies that remain in ny, ct, ca, nj. . That means remington, Colt, Springfield, Kimber……..There are plenty of companies in free states

Take your principled examples from Ronnie Barrett

    5. Why”?????

Do they have ducks in hawaii or just restrictive gun laws and anti american, commie, politicians IDIOT politicians?

I would not shed a penny for hawaii. Let Pele have it

And that isn’t even considering the cost of getting there.

Is the DU management THAT DUMB??

      1. uhh,,,, because conservation and duck hunting goes on in Hawaii too. Based on that logic we should not support any hunting in California, New York, Connecticut, NJ, Maryland… the whole east coast for that matter.

      2. Looks like moves made by the NRA….poor choice indeed. A hidden agenda at work perhaps? Pockets filling from an unseen direction…..? Sure raises sevearl questions.

        1. Yeah, that must be it…. The whole thing is a conspiracy. The NRA must be behind this evil plot. I am dumber now for reading this stupid set of comments, my own excluded.
