Students Walk Out of Vigil For Fallen Student Over Anti-Gun Message ~ VIDEO

Highlands Ranch, Colorado-(Ammoland.com)- On Wednesday, students of STEM School Highlands Ranch in Colorado walked out of a vigil for student hero Kendrick Castillo.

Two students tried to pull off a mass shooting at the Colorado high school. One of the would-be murderers pulled out a gun in a British literature class during a screening of the “Princess Bride.”

Castillo would not sit there and do nothing as his friends were in danger. When most people would run or cower, the student hero charged the shooter to protect those around him. He stopped the shooting but lost his life in the process.

On Wednesday night, a vigil was to be held for Castillo. What the students didn’t know was that instead of honoring Castillo for being a hero, all the speakers used their time to preach an anti-gun message.

Rahm Emanuel once said “Never let a tragedy go to waste,” and the politicians and anti-gun activist took the opportunity to call on Congress to change the gun laws. Instead of celebrating the life of a genuinely remarkable person these invited speakers used it as an opportunity to push their oppressive agenda.

What the students also did not know was that the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence organized the event. The Brady Campaign named their group after James Brady who a mentally deranged man shot during an attempted assassination of President Ronald Reagan. The group is one of the most prominent anti-gun rights groups in the country.

The Brady Campaign invited Democrats Sen. Michael Bennet and Rep. Jason Crow to speak. Both politicians used their time not to honor Castillo, but to call on Congress to pass new and more restrictive gun laws.

The Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence also invited the press to cover the event. The students did not want to be in the news, but the anti-gun group seemed not to care. It was like the grieving student’s sorrow for their fallen classmate was just an afterthought in the planning of the event.

“This is not for us!” “Political stunt!” and “We are people, not a statement,” yelled the students at the speakers who just kept preaching their anti-liberty message.

The talking heads ignored the students proving once again that they were not there for anyone, but themselves. After about 30 minutes the students couldn’t take anymore.

Hundreds of students started walking out in mass.

Outside the vigil, the students that walked out held up their cell phones in the freezing cold rain and started chanting “mental health, mental health” proving that they have a better grip on the problem than the adults inside that were using their fallen friend and classmate as a prop.

Outside mainstream journalist swarmed the students trying to get them on the record. The students pushed and screamed at the reporters shoving microphones in their faces. The students insisted that they did not want to talk to the press.

The students only wanted a chance to grieve over an extraordinary soul who gave his own life for a chance to save theirs. Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, Sen. Michael Bennet, Rep. Jason Crow, and the mainstream media sole that chance from them.

There is a place for politics. This vigil was not one of them.

Disgusting.
These kids wanted to hear about and morn the loss of a friend.
Not be bombarded by Libitard politicians who don’t give one with about the kids.
All they want is to push and unwanted agenda on a they though controlled crowd.
Good for the kids who walked out and then refused to talk to the press.

educate-whores 2 the rescue, indoctrinating students daily (isd?)

These two phoney political hacks went marching over the hero’s grave and got what they deserved. Maybe parents will remember this at the next election. Once again, it is disturbing the prior information was shunned. Police should take a serious note of any disturbance and act on it rather than just say it is hype. Maybe a little investigation into the drug use would have produced some results. Teachers with guns would, definitely, help even if it changed the mind of the criminals before action. Colorado has had enough school shootings and they have introduced more gun laws but that… Read more »

The kids are realizing what the problem really is and that it’s NOT the gun. It’s mental health, if you’re a boy who “thinks” you’re a girl, you need professional help. If you’re willing to go into a school and shoot your fellow students because you were “bullied” you need professional help. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that this walk out happened at a STEM school where the students are “smarter.” They are smarter and had the “balls” to walk out of a politically motivated rally. I hope more kids get “woke”

Its comforting to know that, thanks to Colorado’s new laws regarding firearms, this punk MUST have passed his backgorund check, and had a Mother May I Card to carry that gun onto the campus. It is plain he ALSO aboded by the federal “Certified Devenseless Victim Zone” laws, thus he did NOT take that gun into the school building. It is also certain that the handgun was fitted with an Ammunitioin Feeding Device of state mandated small capacity. It is OH SO COMFORTiNG to know that ALL Colorado laws to “keep us all safe” from the terror of GUNZZZZZ were… Read more »

It appears this school district and school have a similar corrupt culture to the Parkland School in Florida. And the sick school uffishuls ignoring the warning they were sent, and instead of DEALING with the situation exposed, are actually SUING the one giving the warning? Now let’s see what a jury says about THAT!! Then the same corrupt uffishuls bring in Brady and their ilk to grandstand the vigil FOR the students? But there the similarity ends. This time no PiggBoy, no shill-funded busses to bring the kids to the Capitol to demonstrate.. and THESE kids even got up the… Read more »

Congratulations to the kids for being far more “grown-up” than the anti-gun politicians. We can all hope and pray that this type of walk-out by kids will spread throughout the educational system should there ever, GOD forbid, be a similar circumstance. It does raise our faith in the youngsters of today.

Looks to me like even young students are starting to see through the anti gun libertard agenda. Many are woke and are angry at the stupidity of the left.

“A British literature class during a screening of the “Princess Bride”. That as an ongoing crime itself! What the heII does Hollywood entertainment have to do with British literature?

Bob

Not to mention that the book it was based on was written by an American. The lack of our educators education is astounding.

joefoam

Kudos to the students who refused to be pawns in the political games being played.

Elected officials lie every day to the citizens who elect them! The news media uses their platform to promote their opinion! Why are people not attacking the first amendment? It might be next on the list as liberals try to destroy the constitution.

YankeeBill

Perhaps a glimmer of hope lies with our young people? Let’s all pray they can bring some sanity to this all-encompassing debate. Neither the rabid insanity of the leftists or the steadfast resistance of the right , backed by our Constitution, have been able to achieve this. Good bless America!

These morons will use any tragedy to further their own political goals. If this country had been dominated by the likes of these cowards in the past, we would be speaking Russian or German today. These imbeciles need to be segregated into the class of meaninglessness human waste that they are.

Drugs and Depression could this be the underlying problem with Colorados thought process? Colorado Parent Warned School About Violence And Bullying Before School Shooting. Five months before the shooting at STEM School Highlands Ranch that killed one student and injured eight others, CBS News learned school Executive Director Penelope Eucker was sent a letter warning about violence and bullying at the school. The letter was written by a school district official with information from an anonymous parent of a high school senior, who called the district with concerns about the school. According to the letter, “there is an extremely high… Read more »

I wonder what the world would have been like had a great person like Castillo had survived.

Strong truthful words left behind by MarginalMind. The finest words today that I have read. Thank you for a thoughtful boost to a man of courage. Mr. Castillo, God Speed.

Who allowed the Brady Campaign for Gun Violence to be at the vigil? The students have every right to hold a vigil and express their thoughts, and grief for KENDRICK CASTILLIO. Sadly with any shooting like this the anti gun groups and pols get involved due to emotions of a tragedy like this when many aer vulnerable and use that to get their message across. Sadly any of the anti gun groups don’t care about victims or what these students wanted to do for their classmate.
Anti gun groups are also SUBVERSIVES. The kids got it right.

J. Ogren

I read it as, the Brady Campaign, was holding the vigil on behalf of the students.

That would be the school principal who is trying vainly to dig himself out the hole he’s dug for himself.

Once again it is about the object NOT the sick criminal who used it to kill like a drunk driver with a car It is the lefts way to try and disarm law-abiding gun owners in the bid to form their dictatorship and have total control over the people

Finally! A glimmer of hope for the future of the USA!
