Washington: Legislature Adjourns Sine Die, Gun Owner Privacy Protected

Fairfax, VA – -(Ammoland.com)- On April 28th, the Washington Legislature adjourned sine die from the 2019 Legislative Session.  During this session, several egregious pieces of anti-gun legislation were defeated, such as Senate Bill 5062 and House Bill 1068 to ban many standard capacity magazines, Senate Bill 5174 to impose government mandated training requirements for Concealed Pistol Licenses, and Senate Bill 5434 to expand arbitrary boundaries where law-abiding citizens would be left defenseless.  Unfortunately, a number of anti-gun bills were passed.  Your NRA will provide updates as they are signed into law.

In addition, the legislature passed and Governor Jay Inslee signed Senate Bill 6025 to ensure that personal information from those who surrendered bump-fire stocks cannot be released to the public.

Recently, an anti-gun activist filed a public records request in order to build a searchable database of those who previously owned these firearm accessories and surrendered them in good faith under a program administered by the Washington State Patrol.  NRA backed the filing of a lawsuit to prevent this public disclosure.  This lawsuit helped gain attention to the need to protect this information and the legislature took action.  Public disclosure and the creation of a searchable database of these records serve no purpose other than opening up gun owners for harassment or burglary.  Your NRA would like to thank the legislature for their quick action to address this issue.

Your NRA-ILA will be back at the Capitol for the 2020 session, and in the meantime, please stay tuned to your email inbox and www.nraila.org for further updates on Second Amendment issues in the Evergreen State.

National Rifle Association Institute For Legislative Action (NRA-ILA)

Established in 1975, the Institute for Legislative Action (ILA) is the “lobbying” arm of the National Rifle Association of America. ILA is responsible for preserving the right of all law-abiding individuals in the legislative, political, and legal arenas, to purchase, possess and use firearms for legitimate purposes as guaranteed by the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. I guess privacy doesn’t apply to gun ownership. Gun owners must be outed and persecuted.

Centrist control of all political power resides in King County WA., spills into Olympia the State Capitol and Pierce County. Thurston County is only a stones throw away, where unconstitutional decisions are forced upon the people. .Hence many of these hacks, the lunatics that control all branches of Municipalities in Washington State, they will be back at IT again next year. Incorporated or not, their efforts to gun grab and trash the 2nd, has no end in sight. NONE! Step back for a moment,. Take a broader view. This is all part of the West Coast Disarmament Policy of New… Read more »

We in Washington state need the state to release all information on these gun control idiot’s so we know who is in our neighborhood that want to steal the firearms from law abiding citizens. So if they’re the ones that are being robbed or trespassed on, we the people will not come to rescue them in their dying need of protection.

wonder why the climate-clown signed up to this?

Will be of little consequence soon enough.
Terrorists along the border Dave is describing are already moving into Colorado on my street. Debate about rights going to be a fight for them pretty soon and it won’t be a verbal or court fight.

a lot of effort required to protect privacy from one dhimmi-rat a**hole
