Get Trump
Russiagate Is No Watergate

USA -(Ammoland.com)- “History is repeating itself, and with a vengeance,” John Dean told the judiciary committee, drawing a parallel between Watergate, which brought down Richard Nixon, and “Russiagate” which has bedeviled Donald Trump.

But what strikes this veteran of Nixon's White House is not the similarities but the stark differences.

Watergate began with an actual crime, a midnight break-in at the offices of the DNC in June 1972 to wiretap phones and filch files, followed by a cover-up that spread into the inner circles of the White House.

Three years after FBI Director James Comey began the investigation of Trump, however, the final report of his successor, Robert Mueller, found there had been NO conspiracy, NO collusion and NO UNDERLYING CRIME.

How can Trump be guilty of covering up a crime the special counsel says he did not commit?

And the balance of power today in D.C. is not as lopsided as it was in 1973-1974.

During Watergate, Nixon had little support in a city where the elites, the press, the Democratic Congress and the liberal bureaucracy labored in earnest to destroy him. Nixon had few of what Pat Moynihan called “second and third echelons of advocacy.”

Contrast this with Trump, a massive presence on social media, whose tweets, daily interactions with the national press and rallies keep his enemies constantly responding to his attacks rather than making their case.

Trump interrupts their storytelling. And behind Trump is a host of defenders at Fox News, [AmmoLand News] and some of the top radio talk show hosts in America.

There are pro-Trump websites that did not exist in Nixon's time, home to populist and conservative columnists and commentators full of fight.

Leftists may still dominate mainstream media. But their unconcealed hatred of Trump and the one-sided character of their coverage has cost them much of the credibility they had half a century ago.

The media are seen as militant partisans masquerading as journalists.

Consider the respective calendars.

Two years after the Watergate break-in, Nixon was near the end, about to be impeached by the House with conviction possible in the Senate.

Three years into Russiagate, 3 in 4 House Democrats do not want their caucus to take up impeachment. Many of these Democrats, especially moderates from swing districts, do not want to cast a vote to either bring down or exonerate the president.

Assume the House did take up impeachment. Would all the Democrats vote aye? Does anyone think a Republican Senate would deliver the needed 20 votes to provide a two-thirds majority to convict and remove him?

For a Republican Senate to split asunder and vote to expel its own Republican president who is supported by the vast majority of the party would be suicidal. It could cost the GOP both houses of Congress and the White House in 2020. Why would Republicans not prefer to unite and fight to the end, just as Senate Democrats did during the Clinton impeachment?

Trump's support in the Republican caucus in the Senate today is rock solid. Speaker Nancy Pelosi is herself opposed to impeachment hearings in the House, considering them ruinous to her party's hopes of maintaining control in 2020.

When Dean went before the Watergate committee of Sen. Sam Ervin in 1973, all five days of his testimony were carried live on ABC, CBS and NBC.

When Dean appeared Monday, the three cable news networks swiftly dropped coverage of the judiciary committee hearings to report on a helicopter crash in mid-Manhattan. Dean's testimony could be seen on C-SPAN3.

Much of America is bored by the repetitive, nonstop media attacks on Trump, and look on the back-and-forth between left and right not as a “constitutional crisis” but as a savage battle between parties and partisans.

The impeachers who seek to bring down Trump face other problems.

Now that Mueller has spent two years and found no evidence of a Trump-Putin conspiracy to hack the emails of the DNC and Clinton campaign, questions have arisen as to what the evidence was that caused the FBI to launch its unprecedented investigation of a presidential campaign and a newly elected president.

Did an anti-Trump cabal at the apex of the FBI and U.S. security agencies work with foreign intelligence, including former British spy Christopher Steele, to destroy Trump?
The political dynamic of Trump's taunts and defiance of the demands of committee chairs in a Democratic House, and the clamor for impeachment from the Democratic and media left are certain to produce more calls for hearings.

But if the impeachment hearings come, they will be seen for what they are: An attempted coup to overthrow a president by the losers of 2016 who are fearful they could lose again in 2020 and be out of power for four more years.

Russiagate is not Watergate, but there is this similarity: Nixon and Trump are both the objects of a truly great hatred.

    1. Some Republicans are worried about the Democrats gaining more votes by allowing illegals to vote.
In their quest for power, they may actually destroy destroy their party. They brag about their
numbers, but after watching the Trump rally last night, I don’t think they have the numbers they claim.
      “Trump 2020!”

Shame on every Gun Owner who votes Democrat.

    2. I completely agree with USA. I will vote for Donald Trump in 2020. I sincerely hope the Damn dumb ass Democrats try and impeach him. The best thing that could possibly happen in the US today is the complete downfall and destruction of the Democratic Party. Somehow, someway, These people like Eric Swallows, Andrew Cuomo, Hillary Clinton, and James Comey just to name a few, need to be charged and tried for treason, and at the least removed from office.

    3. Many years ago I served in the Army, first under Carter then under Regan. I was taught ways to recognize propaganda. At least during the time I served, propaganda was something Russia would do with and to it’s citizens and satellite countries. With the commiecrats these days it is difficult to pick out any differences between the Russians and the demoncrats. What we as Americans have seen in the last two and a half years in nothing short of a coup though bloodless as far as I am aware of but a coup none the less. That is not just treason, it’s high treason. Obama, Clinton (s), the F B I, the C I A, the N S A, the D N C, the I R S and even other nations were/are directly involved in trying to prevent and then oust Trump as president. I think that Trump had so many people at his rally’s and such when compared to the other side, the demoncrats realized there would have been riots at least or even civil war if he did not win the election. It was just that obvious. Most everybody who isn’t anybody and a lot of those who are somebody knew without a doubt that Trump easily won. If something is not done, legally, to those who perpetrated this coup how can we hope for the law being fair and equal to all?

Before this mess, if you can remember, Obama met with the Russians and had an open microphone. He said something to the effect of “Wait till after I am re elected, I can do more for you then”. Anybody else remember that? That is treason. When O bama weaponised the I R S against any and all conservatives, was that not treason against the nation he was sworn to protect?

When Clinton sacrificed that diplomat and his guard at Benghazi trying to cover up weapon sales to Syria, she said it was because of something that happened here in the states. All lies and murder to cover [email protected]$$. I was on a BAF team and I was on a SAT team. I absolutely know those people could have been saved if Clinton would have let them get help. If that is not treason, it is at least being complicit in murder. Then, later when she had all the blackberry’s/phones destroyed and bleach pitted in an effort to get rid of evidence and later had Bill Clinton meet the top law enforcement officer in an airplane–in Phoenix without her armed escort in the plane-and warn her about things that would happen to her grandchildren if she didn’t make Hillary’s problem go away and she/they all got away with it–so far. You might remember what the top l e o said to the press when asked what was said in that meeting. She was very reticent to even speak, she was visibly shaken, she would talk only in the vaguest sense, she was scared. Isn’t that treason? It is at least extortion. These people believe they are above the law, that they are accountable to no one, that they can do anything they wish. These are the people who fancy themselves as leading the most powerful nation on earth.

Those who would lead have a higher standard to uphold. To see them get away with murder, treason, extortion etc.. when everyone else is put to death for the same or lessor offences does not instill trust in the government. To see “fixed” votes, to see the socialist/communist views being taught in schools as something that is righteous, to see something that has been wrong before GOD and man for the last 6,000 years be taught of as normal and right, to see communist/socialist judges countermanding common sense orders from the executive branch and other things of that nature makes one wonder what the truth about all of this is. Treason and tyranny are things that are worthy of death. Truth, freedom and liberty are things worth fighting for.

Unless things change there is a civil war on the horizon. A socialist/communist government cannot suffer the “governed” subjects to keep and bare arms. That would be a threat to their power and authority. Now you know that gun control has nothing to do with gun control, it is all about people control. When our leadership recognizes no law higher than themselves there can be no justice. When our leadership has no respect for life, when our leadership has no respect for the LORD there is trouble coming. The government is supposed to be there to protect, defend and preserve our rights, freedoms and liberties not to empower themselves and line their wallets. We hold these truths to be self evident, that all men are created equal and they are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happyness. When any government becomes destructive to these ends it is in the right of the people to alter or abolish it and create new government. You can find these last words in the declaration of independence. Now, as then the people are going to have to deal with a tyrannical government. I fear we are very close to the tipping point that will force civil war The last tipping point came when the British marched on Concord in an effort to deprive their subjects of their arms–for their own good I’m sure. Now as then, we have taken our worries and grievances to our leadership with all humility. Now as then their answer has been one of threats, lies, intimidation, ostracizing and even murder. The rule of law, common sense and love of GOD are things that are difficult to find in Washington and even in our separate state governments. While I hope they do still exist in government it is obvious they are being suppressed. Finding a politician who remembers his oath, the constitution and the Scripture they stand on is getting difficult but not impossible.

If you are not registered to vote–get registered. If you are not armed 24/7 get that way. If you don’t have enough ammo to last a good year, get it. Like it or not, we are the first responders. We are responsible for the lives and welfare of our spouse, children, friends and neighbors, our co workers, the innocent guy on the street and ourselves. Yesterday, some nut job attacked a federal building in Texas. He did this knowing there would be a response. He only had about 150 bullets on his person. He was shot dead. There is nothing on the news as to why he did this. You can bet if he had done this in a Church or shopping mall or a grocery store where (you or your spouse or children could have been) there would have been more than just him dead. It has happened before. Examples like this only confirm the need to be armed—and ready. Arm up, carry on.

    4. Russiagate began with a crime, several in fact!! It began with Demonrats committing TREASON, seeking to initially jury-rig, then later overthrow the election of 2016. When the Demonrats and deep staters didnt get their way, they have worked to dismantle our Republic from behind the scenes with lightning speed.

What we need to be doing now is hanging traitors and throwing commies from helicopters. All the rest are free to leave… in fact, WE INSIST!!

2020 will be the acid test for the survival of the Republic. If the Demonrats get their way, we will never again have free, open and honest elections, ever again… FOREVER. We will immediately lose our rights, which they will abolish in the name of combating hate/racism/homophobia/islamophobia/xenophobia/etc. In 2020, we will either secure freedom for another 4 years or we go immediately to civil war; but make no mistake… eventually the enemy of liberty will seize control of this country and they will force a second civil war to begin. When that day inevitably comes, patriots will have no choice: either kill every last commie in the country, or submit to their tyranny forever and ever.

Stock up on essentials while you can. You’ll need it!!

      1. You failed to mention that Obama announced on national TV the end of the Republic years ago due to legislation he wrote and passed while current rhinos sat there stooge like applauding. To see that what you really have is a tyranny go look up what a tyranny is and is what we now have not a Republic. We are full bore tyranny to be more precise with not a single shred of Republic left but nice try I’ll give you that.
        Fags will still post though.
If the founding fathers were alive today they would be found guilty of many felonious crimes and hung in the town court yard while all these fags sat at their computers watching.
        Fag nation.

    5. Ol’ Folks around here that were living during Watergate tell me that what you currently recognize as pedogate or pizzagate was also in the Watergate scandalthat the pedophila in politics is very old stuff been around forever. Is one reason why they want to get rid of ol’ folks because they know stuff you don’t. Lots of stuff.
Michael Cohn Trumps mentor was a pedogate deep state guy who was a fag himself but hated fags and set them up. Fags are not loyal to other fags. I’m shocked.

    6. But, But its TRUUUUMMMMPPP! He is trying to destroy not only the US but the world!! He is a Dictator!! He hates Jews! He hates Muslims! He hates guns! Hell just go on and on and on. Trump really grates on the Democrats and even on the never Trumpers on this site.

      1. When I was a kid growing up with my other siblings we beat each other bloody every day and still ate dinner at the same table and slept under the same roof every night.

      2. I don’t know who is calling Trump a Jew hater. (I suppose you were being facetious)
Trump has done more for the Jew and Israel than most.
Nutinyahooo leads Trump by the jewgotchies. Disgusting.

        1. Ron, unsurprisingly from you, another ignorant and bigoted post. Lefties smell and talk sh-t, but that is because they have their heads up their a–es.

            1. Ron, it is true that your post was ignorant and bigoted. Beyond that, no, the content was false.

            2. Ron, no, you are wrong again. I do have two legs, but I don’t have wings nor feathers. Projection isn’t your strong suit, ignorance and bigotry are your unwitting strengths.

    7. America: do not forget that that current CIA director, Gina Haspel, was running the CIA desk in London in 2016 while Alexander Downer (Australia) Joseph Mifsud (Italy) Stefan Halper (CIA), Azra Turk (CIA) and the US embassy were spying and trying to sabotage Donald Trump.

      1. And now the spooks are right here on tyrantland trying to set up patriots because that is what spooks do. Spooks you into shit you wouldn’t otherwise do.Look around, were neck deep in them. I wouldn’t follow their command though I did call Trump and get on his list to be called up and if everybody else wants something better than they currently have then I think joining us is the last chance. I would not take orders from any other than Trump and yeah he pisses me off but then you should see me attack the left and you might begin thinking I could be fond of Trump. I’m weird like that. I’ll go after anybody leaning on me or mine I don’t care the side their on, mess with me and my countrymen and I’ll kick MFers in the nuts. Doesn’t mean I don’t like em. Just means they got their nuts kicked because they have it coming. We can all drink beer after.
