U.S.A.-(Ammoland.com)- Sturm, Ruger & Company, Inc. (NYSE: RGR) is pleased to announce the Ruger Custom Shop SR1911 Competition pistol chambered in .45 Auto. This single-stack SR1911 is built for the highest levels of competition; whether you are a world-class competitor, collector or target shooter who appreciates exceptional firearms, the Ruger Custom Shop SR1911 in .45 Auto will not disappoint.

Each slide and frame are hand fitted to ensure that the action is tight, smooth and accurate. The competition barrel featuring a polished throat, fitted barrel lug and target crown is also hand fitted for precise lock-up. The Custom Shop SR1911 is assembled with only the best components, including the Koenig Shooting Sports low-mass hammer and competition sear, flat-faced match trigger shoe, precision-machined Cylinder & Slide disconnector, forged slide stop, integral plunger tube and hand-tuned sear spring. The stainless steel frame’s black nitride finish contrasts with the two-tone, hand-polished, stainless and black nitrided slide with distinctive Ruger Custom Shop markings. Textured G10 grips finish off this rugged and reliable match pistol.

“I am excited about this addition to our Custom Shop lineup,” said Team Ruger Captain Doug Koenig. “Just like its 9mm Luger counterpart, this .45 Auto model is full of industry-leading features and fully machined, hand-fitted parts. A must-have for all 1911 aficionados! I cannot wait to hit the competition circuit with it.”

Standard features on the Custom Shop SR1911 Competition pistol include a fiber optic front sight and adjustable serrated rear target sight for match speed and accuracy; undercut trigger guard and beavertail grip safety for a comfortable high hold designed to reduce muzzle flip; and an ambidextrous safety and extended magazine release.

This pistol ships in a waterproof, fitted hard case and includes one, 8-round and one, 7-round competition magazine, a Ruger Custom Shop Certificate of Authenticity, challenge coin, cleaning cloth, gun peg and decal.

Is there a discount off of the $2,500.00 price if you get it without Dougs name on it ? I live Rugers but, DAMN !!!!

EG

The 9mm came out at the same price and gun shops online had it down to 1800. Msrp prices are always set higher just like 4k tv’s it.

Jason

A Ruger 1911 with an MSRP higher than a Les Baer Premier II or Monolith. LOL.

I’m sure they’ll still sell a few.

Ryan Eakin

Love what they’ve done with this. I started out shooting the SR1911 in competition and it’s a great gun but needs lots of upgrades. First thing I did was improve the grip and sights which this has already. And their other changes sound like great improvements. However, the 45 is just not competitive in USPSA single stack competitions. The way the rules are written, the 9mm single stack has 10 round capacity and the 45 is limited to 8 rounds. Those extra 2 rounds make all the difference. And in steel challenge, there is no power factor requirement so again… Read more »

Just an FYI the custom shop SR1911 first came out in 9mm. This is talking about the new .45 and also mentions it comes in 9mm.

I like it and it’s new and lots of people will buy it. But Ruger prices have been steadily climbing for all their products & this is no exception.
Would I buy it? Probably not because it’s a single stack 45, I would rather have the 9mm version.

But would I buy the 9mm version instead? Again, probably not. Why? Because the CZ Shadow 2 outclasses both very nice Ruger firearms on every level including price.

Pat

Is the magazine release ambidextrous also?

Jim Quinn

Group size would be nice and the ambidextrous safety is worthless if your a competitor using a grip rail.

Justista

Do you know how to tell if a competitor is gay? He has a grip rail.
