Ruger Security 9 Pistol

Read AmmoLand News’s recent review of the Ruger Security 9 Pistol online and checkout the solid features.

All New Security-9 from Ruger
Ruger will be providing Security-9 pistols for a “Close Quarters Combat” range instruction led by Glen Stilson, United States Army Veteran and Owner and Head Instructor of Independence Training.
  • Compact for easy concealment, the Security-9® is designed to fit a variety of available holsters.
  • Rugged construction with blued, through-hardened alloy steel slide and barrel and high-performance, glass-filled nylon grip frame.
  • Precision-machined, hard-coat anodized aluminum chassis with full-length guide rails.
  • The Secure Action used in the LCP® II and Security-9® is derived from the reliable and proven hammer-fired LCP® fire control system. The Secure Action combines the smooth trigger pull of the LCP® with the short, crisp feel and positive reset of a single action.
  • Textured grip frame provides a secure and comfortable grip.
  • Dovetailed, high-visibility sight system with drift adjustable rear sight and fixed front sight. Sights can be easily changed out for different color options (available separately).
  • Internal, Secure Action hammer provides strong ignition force, yet allows for easier slide racking when compared with many striker-fired pistols. Front cocking serrations enable positive slide manipulation.
  • Safety features include integrated trigger safety; external manual safety; neutrally balanced sear with significant engagement and strong spring tension; and hammer catch to help prevent the hammer from contacting the firing pin unless the trigger is pulled.
  • Safe, easy takedown with no special tools or trigger pull required.
  • Also includes: two alloy steel magazines.

Ruger Announces Six New PC Carbine Models

Read AmmoLand New’s recent review of the Ruger PC Carbine with M-LOK handguard and find out why the early cowboys had it all right.

  • CNC-milled handguard that is Type III hard-coat anodized aluminum for maximum durability, with Magpul® M-LOK® accessory attachment slots on all four sides for easy mounting of M-LOK-compatible rails and accessories.
  • Interchangeable magazine wells for use of common Ruger® and Glock® magazines. Ships with SR-Series™/Security-9® pistol magazine well installed and an additional magazine well accepting Glock® magazines is included*. Ruger American® Pistol magazine wells are available at
  • Easy takedown enables quick separation of the barrel/forend assembly from the action for ease of transportation and storage. Takedown is as simple as locking the bolt back and verifying that the rifle is unloaded, pushing a recessed lever, twisting the subassemblies and pulling them apart.
  • Dead blow action features a custom tungsten dead blow weight that shortens bolt travel and reduces felt recoil and muzzle rise. Bolt is machined from heat treated, chrome-moly steel to ensure strength, structural integrity and durability.
  • Reversible magazine release and reversible charging handle to support ambidextrous use or one-handed control manipulation while maintaining a proper firing grip*.
  • Cold hammer-forged, chrome-moly steel barrel with ultra-precise rifling provides exceptional accuracy and longevity. The heavy contour barrel provides consistent accuracy, while barrel fluting sheds unnecessary weight and allows for quick handling.
  • Threaded barrel with included thread protector allows for use of standard muzzle accessories.
  • Accurate sighting system with adjustable ghost ring rear aperture sight and non-glare, protected blade front sight.
  • Soft rubber buttpad with spacers allows the rifle to be properly sized for different shooters or varying levels of outerwear or defensive gear (three, 1/2″ spacers included).
  • Durable, glass-filled nylon synthetic buttstock features a proprietary texture for enhanced control and an integral sling mount for rapid sling attachment .
  • Light, crisp trigger pull with minimal overtravel and positive reset utilizing proven 10/22® trigger components.
  • CNC-machined from an aerospace-grade 7075-T6 aluminum billet, the receiver includes an integrated Picatinny rail and is Type III hard-coat anodized for maximum durability.
  • Also includes: one, SR-Series™ pistol magazine and hex wrenches for rear sight adjustment, buttpad spacer adjustment and charging handle removal.

Over half my guns are RUGERS, a few I’ve had for over 30 years, well made and durable!!!

Daniel Hardy

Awesome rifle pistol combo, would love to own them!!

I have the original PC 9 and a P 95 to match it. They are great guns especially if you shoot two gun competition. Two guns, one ammo, one mag. I love it and in my opinion there are none better or more reliable than Ruger.

Richard Parsons

Patrick Moore

Great giveaway! Awesome guns to own !

Charles Mitchell

Have the Ruger PC Carbine. Ruger needs to come out with a PC carbine that would use my SR1911 magazines!

My Ruger PCC is a wonderful rifle to shoot. For my needs, being able to followup the first shot is important. I’m not so young as when I had my Mini 14 (another great gun). The look of the PCC also doesn’t rattle done people as much as seeing an AR. When I find one, I’ll add the 44 mag carbine to my collection. I would love to have a second PCC for modifying with a more radical stock. But I will keep my present PCC closer to stock.

Craig Wong

Incredible Giveaway!!

Thanks for this! I signed up way back for your up-to-date news about all things guns. Giveaways such as this are icing on the cake!

Joe Nocera

I think its great ammoland publishes so many local and national gun related articles. I moved from New Jersey to Arizona almost 30 years ago and forget how hard it is for others to practice their freedom to bare arms in other states.

James Harris

Ruger should just go ahead and make us all winners, think of the press from that!

Ronald Momeyer

Anthony Carbone

I own a PC9 and a GP 100 and love them both. My next purchase will be a Ruger Precision Rifle in .22lr. A friend who owns a gun shop told me I would hard pressed to find something better for what I wanted to do. (target shoot at +100 yds) If you are in the Metro Detroit area and suburbs, you may want to check out Uncoiled Firearms for the best prices and service around.
As someone said above, I too look forward to the new articles featured in Ammoland

Eric Brackin

I want! I want!

I carried a Ruger security Six, 4” when I was a police officer, it was a little heavier than the Smiths and Colts that the others carried on the department, but for the 3 of us who carried Ruger’s , we all qualified in the low 90’s. Our range officer Charlie loved the Smith model 10 heavy barrels, “that’s all you need if you know what your doing”. But he did like my Security Six and yes he did shoot it better than I did. It was an excellent weapon, smooth trigger and solid. I used it several years when… Read more »

My first pistol was a Ruger Standard purchased in 1970 in Alaska. Since that time I have owned innumeral Ruger revolvers, pistols, centerfire rifles, and rimfire rifles. I cannot recall any issues with any of the guns I have owned. They are built like tanks.

this is a nice looking rifle

Carl Gaskins

I would LOVE this to be my first carbine.

At 8 years old the first gun I ever shot was a Ruger Mark I that my brother a Vietnam Vet owned. He showed me how to safely handle & shoot it. I now own a Ruger Mark III & a Ruger SR9C, Mossburg 500 Cruiser & a Savage 22 all are within 5 feet of where I sleep. I am a Veteran who is disabled & would enjoy the heck of owning more Rugers as they are a reliable easy to maintain firearm

Ever since my husband left me and took all the guns that we owned including my personal ones and then my next boyfriend did the same thing to me I feel unsafe. I sleep with a machete, baseball bat, knife, and Hammer all around me. But I still do not feel safe. I am used to having a gun in the house and and a very good aim! Oh and by the way I take very good care of my guns! I clean them every single time I shoot them even if it’s only one shot. I would be a… Read more »
