For all those wanting to take part in this deal: as usual with Sportsmans Guide: as with many coupon offers, there are many exclusions!!! I have been a member of SG for years, just went to place an order and the SG2968 applied results in a comment: “only available for new customers” which is NOT what it states in the above offer. I spoke with a SG representative: she read the AMMOLAND link offer from SG and she had no answer as to why it wasn’t accepting the coupon?? Eventually she applied a separate $10 off coupon. Great price,BUT unless you can shoot t a private range that allows Bi-metal bullets these cannot be fired at most indoor ranges.
Bullets are copper flash plated steel(unless S&B changed) and won’t pass the magnet test.

Did not know that about these rounds, thank you for bringing me up to speed. It helps to explain why they are on sale, probably not moving as well as they would like. Not any good for home defense either, making this more or less a plinker’s round.

Don’t believe it, these rounds are not steel, and a magnet does not stick to them, and they are a bit hotter than others, but are nowhere near as a +p, I would have no problem defending my home with these, but I prefer hollow points. Don’t buy them if you don’t want to, but you will be missing out on a great round. Go to any place that sells them and ask questions, they will tell you the same. Buy one box of 50 and use them, you will be hooked, not to mention if you shoot a lot… Read more »
