False Use Of Anti-Semitism in Language Causes Harm: Smearing A Billion Arab Semites

Opinion

USA – -(AmmoLand.com)- Media persist in calling deadly hatred of Jews “anti-Semitism” — falsely smearing a billion Arab Semites.

We argue that “Arabs who hate Jews cannot be labeled “anti-Semitic” because they [Arabs] themselves are Semites.”

“The historical roots of the term “anti-Semitism” go back to the 19th century when it was invented and popularized by anti-Jewish German writers and intellectuals in the closing decades of the 19th century. The anthropology of that era gave the name “Semitic” – from the Hebrew “Shem,” one of Noah’s sons – to a family of languages that included Hebrew, Arabic, Assyrian and Phoenician; and labeled members of groups that spoke these languages as “Semites.” Through the ministrations of late-century racial “science,” Semitic was increasingly used to designate Jews as a “race” with inborn biological attributes. The use of the term “anti-Semitism” to specifically denote opposition and antagonism to Jews was first suggested by the German journalist Wilhelm Marr in his 1879 work The Victory of Judaism over Germanism, a best-seller that helped push “the Jewish question” to the center of German politics.”

Q: Why do so many people fervently hate Jews?*

With so much hatred of Jews in the world — constantly on front pages — even the blind can see it is critical for Jews to prepare themselves for self-defense. Denying this is a formula for death. A government that seeks to disarm its population is openly advocating a lethal policy toward this vulnerable group of people. It is a holocaust being prepared by policy and must not be tolerated.

Jewish denigraters must be called out for what they are, not hidden with a white-washed bland euphemism like anti-Semites, which they are not. These Jew-hating politicians, reporters, and citizens must face the cold steel backing up “Never Again!”, in the hands of well-trained Jews and all Americans who stand, as even leftists insist, against bias, bigotry, prejudice, and hatred in all its forms. Efforts to disarm or subarm any segment of the population must be flatly rejected if for no other reason than these measures disarm Jews who are constantly under armed assault.

It is time for our schools to teach armed self-defense, and the value of an armed republic to resist tyranny, hatred, and abuse. Domestic violence must be met with countervailing force. Criminal-attack must be met with armed might. The same types of firearms and ammunition that Officer-Friendly deems appropriate for dealing with street crime, jihadis, civil unrest, drug gangs and the rest are the types we the people need and should be comfortable with owning and operating.

Training is thus crucial. The evil scourges of communistic and socialistic tyrannies need to face armed resistance wherever they raise their dictatorial heads, as Americans understood a mere few decades ago. No more coddling and excuses that allows these pernicious diseases to flourish. Freedom requires defense. Real defense.

Get armed. Get trained. Be prepared. This is JPFO’s message of life.

Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership JPFO LogoAbout Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership

Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership, www.jpfo.org is America’s most aggressive civil-rights organization, dedicated to destroying the notion of `gun control’ as any kind of credible public-policy position. So-called `gun control’ does not control guns and doesn’t control criminal behavior. What it does is disarm the innocent, leaving them helpless in the face of criminals, tyrannical governments and genocide. History repeatedly proves this fact. Founded in 1989 by Aaron Zelman as a response to the Holocaust, JPFO speaks with the moral authority and tenacious commitment of survivors of persecution and knows that surrendering your personal and family safety to government protection courts disaster. You don’t have to be Jewish to fight by our side, you just have to love liberty.

The jealousy and hate in and of mankind started when Cain murdered his brother Able. It was enforced when Abraham did not listen to the LORD and begat a son through one of the maids. Sarah did give him a son some time after that. Throughout B.C. the Hebrews were constantly in and out of blessing and judgment by the LORD. Then came the LORD JESUS. There are those who blame the death (murder) of JESUS on the Jews. While the Jews did make a sort of kangaroo court of it, HE laid down HIS life for ALL mankind voluntarily.… Read more »

You do realize his son-in-law, daughter, and grandchildren by her, are all Jews, don’t you?

RoyD

Sure, if they are Reform, otherwise:

“According to traditional Jewish law (halacha), Jewishness is passed down through the mother. So, if your mother was Jewish, you are too. This position is held by most members of the Conservative and Orthodox communities. The Reform movement recognizes the children of one Jewish parent — mother or father — as a Member of the Tribe if the child is raised Jewish.”

King David’s Matrilineal Descent goes back to the woman who hid the spies at Jericho, Rahab was one of David’s great grandmothers.

Grigori — Imagine my surprise when I learned that the deity we worship is a Jew. How clever of them. And God, he said of them, by them and to them: “If you will obey my voice, and keep my covenant, then you will be a peculiar treasure unto me above all other people.” Exodus 19:5. As for trying to set Jesus up as different, which Christians will invariably do, we have St. John 10:30, where he said of it: “I and my Father are one.” It just so happens that Mother Mary’s parents were St. Joachim and St. Anne,… Read more »

Wild Bill

@StW, Do you think that God meant particular treasure or peculiar treasure (as written)?

StWayne

Well, WB, that’s a great point. My “version” of the Bible says “peculiar.” Looking that word up, it says: “Odd; strange.” And since the Bible has been revised so many times, one can only really go with the way it’s written. Therefore it could be said, that God, said: “If you will obey my voice, and keep my covenant, then you will be a strange treasure unto me above all other people.”

Wild Bill

@StW, I would hate to have God look upon me as a peculiar treasure. That would be like having a semitrailer of new left footed tennis shoes. Sure they have value, but …

Knute

“one can only really go with the way it’s written.”
Not quite. There exist both Greek/English, and Hebrew/English Lexicons, both of which contain the original words in their original languages, and contain a translation dictionary in the back. With those two tools you will no longer be a captive of the language barrier that confuses so many.

TheRevelator

@Knute Knute Part of the issue stems from the nature of the Hebrew language, which is what most of the bible was written in originally, later Aramaic/Latin/Greek for the new testament and translations of earlier scripture. Hebrew was a language whose words meant the living embodiment of what they were talking about. Things, places, and people were named based on the meaning behind the name. Language and the way things were said were so integral and important to the Hebrew Language that it has caused confusion in modern times. One Hebrew word may have contextual meaning for ten different things… Read more »

If you read the whole chapter it becomes obvious that the term meant “in purpose”.

WTF? You paint with a wide brush and show a lot of ill-informed prejudice. JMO.

It isn’t just Jews that must be armed to defend themselves. Any minority may be victimized, I’m left handed and green eyed, for example (2% of 10%, mas o menos), both traits associated with negative supernatural characteristics in the minds of ignorant bigots. Oh yeah, I’m a fair skin and haired highly anglicized Chicano who is proud to be American and proud of his ancestry. Also Catholic, and we have been persecuted in this country. I’m sure everyone reading this can list thing things that make them targets of bigotry, at risk of having to forcibly defend ourselves from violent… Read more »

This article does the same thing they accuse “anti-semites” of doing. That would treating “Jews” as a monolithic block. There are many Jews who are worthy of opposition on some level. For instance those liberal Jews who would deprive people of their Constitutionally guaranteed right to keep and bear arms, or the rights of the unborn to live, etc. So I am going to call BS on this article.

SEMPAI

Natalie Portman, Mila Kunis, Alicia Silverstone
Scarlett Johansen….I love Jews no problem with them whatsoever. No one should have a Facebook acct anyway you know that TWERP Zuckerberg is shining Bernie’s shoes anyway. O and I can’t forget jesus ( that one’s for you deplorable bill)

A good scare is better than good advice

Deplorable Bill

Amen, the most famous Jew I ever met.

Arm up, carry on.

Bill

I always kind of wondered about that misuse of “anti-Semitism,” since the descendants of Shem include several groups other than Jews, including the Babylonians that at one time conquered them. However, after such a long time of misusing a term in a way that everyone has at last come to understand, it is obviously just soooo important to suddenly start complaining that the word has been misused. Where was the outrage when the misuse started? What makes this guy’s complaint suddenly important?

loveaduck

At the beginning and, alas, now it has been ignorance.

The issue is not calling someone a jew, it’s how it is said. You get the haters and conspiracy theory people who blame jews for everything, just look at the comments from usa, fema camp trips ??? It’s how it is phrased that matters a lot of the time, asking if one is Jewish comes across far better and less accusatory then asking if one is a jew. And I speak from experience as was born to Jewish parents 52 years ago and the son of a ww2 veteran in the European war. I’m also the only gun owner in… Read more »

Oldvet, you just crossed the PC line. The word/term is “Nigger”, it’s rude, insulting and using it could be offensive, especially to Black Americans. However, it is part of our language and heritage, ugly as it may be, by being PC, you are falling into the liberal left trap of changing our language and history to appease liberals. You don’t have to be rude an use the word if you don’t want to use it, but don’t play the liberal “N word” bullshit game and become part of destroying history and the language for the sake of someone’s potential feelings… Read more »

O my

Tionico

I have known and heard “people of colour” to call other “people of colour” using that “N” word you spelled out, the same way we would use the term “friend” or “brother”
Normal talk, “in the hood” or amongst their own. I’ve even known some to refer to themelves, even to “whites’ using that same term.

Its all about context, and WHO is “judging”.

Tionico

I’ve known WHITE folks, of Dutch and/or English lineage, with long family histories in South Africa who are properly called “african americans”. White and english as the Queen of England. Now THAT gets some stares in a crowd……..

loveaduck

Knowing it’s an insult, why would you want to say it?

loveaduck

Describe one, please.

TheRevelator

@JPM Especially to black americans? I find the word extremely offensive. Downright hate it in fact, and I don’t care if it is being used by blacks. My own distaste at the word means I never use it, except for one instance in a direct quote of LBJ because that kind of evil should not be watered down when talking about it. But what you point out in regards to the first Amendment is also true. It is a word and is not off limits even when it does offend others. However, that also means that Oldvet and myself may… Read more »

Just as importantly, groups such as JPFO must get the majority of Jews to STOP voting and supporting democrats ! They do it out of habit I suppose, but they are supporting the same people who would disarm them (and us) and lock us in “re-education” camps. I’m always very disappointed when I read about the tremendous support and backing given to democrats by the Jewish communities. They are voting against their own interests (and ours)…
