Spyderco Bow River Fixed Blade Knife – Review

Spyderco Bow River Knife.

U.S.A.-(Ammoland.com)- Some knives catch my eye because of their functional design and some knives catch my eye because of their beauty. The Spyderco Bow River knife caught my eye because she had both of the above attributes. So the Spyderco Bow River knife met both of the above conditions.

Spyderco Bow River Fixed Blade Knife

At the 2020 SHOT Show, I met with the Spyderco Marketing guru Joyce. We caught up on what had been happening and then she showed me some of their new knives. When she pulled out the new
Spyderco Bow River knife I fell in love with it immediately. It is a beautiful knife.

As with all of the Spyderco knives that I’ve tested the Spyderco Bow River knife is super sharp. Almost razor sharp. It also has a thinner blade than many hunting knives on the market. I don’t like to work (skin animals) with a thick bladed knife. Thick blades are fine, and desirable for survival and tactical knives but not for skinning your game. I can’t wait to use it skinning my next animal. I’m working on lining up a hog hunt in the near future with Bill Olson, the editor of Texas Outdoor Journal.

It comes in a stoutly made, nice looking leather sheath. It doesn’t have a flap that snaps over it to keep it in place or a strap that buttons around the handle but the Bow River knife sets down deeply in the sheath so it will not fall out while hunting.

You can get this little beauty for an MSRP of $54.00. And as is usual, we will finish with the specs but I also threw in the Spyderco description this time.
