Great news for gun-lovers in Kansas! The KS legislation just passed new laws protecting gun owners from politicians acting under the guise of emergency powers. IMG NRA-ILA

U.S.A. -(AmmoLand.com)- The Kansas Legislature adjourned from its Special Session after passing Emergency Powers Legislation, House Bill 2054.  House Bill 2054 prevents the Governor from using emergency powers to seize ammunition or limit the sale of firearms during a declared state of emergency, including for Covid-19.  This bipartisan measure will now be sent to Governor Laura Kelly’s desk for her signature.

Thank you to those lawmakers who voted in support of this important legislation, as well as the original resolution during the 2020 Legislative Session.

Amen! Freedom is alive and well there. The question is will the governor limit herself by signing this?

Wild Bill

@Bill, The question is … did the good people of Kansas get their bribe money in on time?

Bob

Good news of course, however, anybody who gives up their right to self-defense ESPECIALLY IN AN EMERGENCY, is a fool.

Wild Bill

@Bob, Yeah, I can hardly believe that it is Riot Season already. I still have my COVID 19 decorations up!

Great news Kansas.

How about get this passed through 50 states

“A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”

“I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”

Make sure you vote: we cannot afford to lose this once great country. Trump 2020

I look forward to reading about how this governor signed legislation to limit her own power. History is not exactly replete with examples of tyrants voluntarily limiting themselves, but hey, sometimes people win lotteries worth millions in spite of the mathematically crushing odds against them, so even some exceedingly rare things are least theoretically possible.

Legislature is solid RED with a super majority. Veto over-ride is possible.

The second amendment was put in place to stop the government or it’s leaders from stopping the rights of a free people, just because they declare an emergency does not stop the rights granted by the founders and no one governor or president can withhold those rights.
The politicians need to read the constitution.

More importantly the Judiciary needs some remedial instruction…
