Graham Secures Second Amendment For South Carolina

South Carolina – -(AmmoLand.com)- Lindsey Graham has not been the most popular Senator among Second Amendment supporters. Much of it was due to him backing a number of John McCain’s moves on other issues. However, when it comes to the Second Amendment, Graham has been a very crucial ally.

Senator Graham sponsored the Federal Firearms Licensee Protection Act, which boosts penalties for stealing firearms. He’s been a reliable vote against anti-Second Amendment legislation, albeit he also had a history of backing various campaign finance measures, particularly those supported by John McCain. But as we have noted in the case of Jon Tester, votes on gun legislation are not the only ones that affect our Second Amendment rights.

Graham’s first vote keeps Charles Schumer from being Senate Majority Leader. Control of the Senate means that judicial nominations will continue to sail through should President Trump be re-elected in November. While many vacancies have been filled, the next four years could see more, including the Supreme Court seats held by Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Stephen Breyer.

Graham has been a key player in judicial nominations. In fact, he has served as chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee since the 2018 elections and has been crucial in advancing outstanding judges in the 116th Congress. The work Graham has done with judges is perhaps one of the biggest reasons Second Amendment supporters should back his re-election.

If you want to know why the Duncan case has a good shot of being upheld despite the Ninth Circuit potentially taking it up for en banc review, Graham ranks up there with President Trump, Charles Grassley, and Mitch McConnell in deserving credit for the effects it will have on our Second Amendment rights. Should Republicans hold the Senate, Graham or Grassley would hold down the Senate Judiciary Committee.

So, in one sense, Graham, like Susan Collins, has his imperfections, albeit his are not quite as extensive. But at the same time, both Graham and Collins do far more for our Second Amendment rights than nominally “pro-Second Amendment” Democrats like Tester and Joe Manchin, precisely because on ancillary issues, they not only cast the right votes far more often than not, they also keep control of the Senate out of the hands of a sworn enemy of our rights.

Senator Graham’s campaign site can be checked out here. Second Amendment supporters should also donate to the National Rifle Association’s Political Victory Fund to support Graham and other pro-Second Amendment candidates at the federal, state, and local levels.

I live about 5 minutes from where Graham was raised in SC and vote against him in every primary. But I will not cut my noise off to spite my face by allowing Democrat Jamie Harrison to be elected. He is endorsed by Everytown for Gun Safety and part of liberals plan to flip the Senate.

Sorry but that is just plain stupid.

As much as I dislike rinos .if Graham was not primaried out ( he wasn’t) then the ONLY vote has to go to Graham. No dems elected period!

uncle dudley

If you live in South Carolina and want to keep enjoying your firearms then you better hold your nose and vote for Graham.
We all know what the democrats want to do to take all guns out of the hands of private citizens and electing a democrat senator will help drive that nail in the coffin much sooner than we want to think about.

No human exists without faults, be they outright or just in some people’s judgement. When you sit where you are, not having the information in total to make a decision, it is easy to judge. Perhaps putting yourself in someone else’s position as best you can, before you make a judgement, which of course none of us should do, judge, that is. I’m trying, and have been for quite some time, been putting myself in Senator Graham’s position as best I can (very little) and it’s difficult not having all the information, stress, politics, strategy, need for keeping conservative control,… Read more »

Miss Lindsey voted to confirm (AFAIK) the two anti-gun Justice females to the SCOTUS. He also voted almost all the time for whatever obama wanted (except for obamacare), along with McCain.
I did not vote for him in the SC Primary and he got 67% of the vote, which means 33% of us wanted nothing to do with him.

Green Mtn. Boy

Lindsey Graham is a utterly worthless RINO.

Bill

Do not trust that man! Come on dude, wake the F up!

Graham flip flops more than a fresh landed catfish in the bottom of a john boat.

I guess Harold is not aware that Senator Grahamnesty has been pushing for the states to pass unconstitutional “Red Flag” laws which gut the legal rights of gunowners. I guess Harold is not aware that Graham helped pursuade Trump to do those Bob Woodward interviews. As a Conservative Republican South Carolinian I cannot in good conscience vote for that two faced RINO. Let the chips fall where they may.

If we had a clear majority in the senate without Graham, I’d say you have a point, but, the majority is so slim, we cannot afford to lose even one seat now. You should do what the rest of us patriots do, hold your nose and vote for your republican candidate. Must keep dems from controlling gov. and turning America in the USSA….
You see what happened in your neighbor state of Virginia…… we don’t want that nationwide.

I am from South Carolina and do not approve of everything Graham does but Conservatives must retain control of the Senate and nominations of Supreme Court justices. It is the only way to keep our 2nd Amendment rights. I truly fear civil war if we lose in November. That would be disastrous for the USA and a godsend to the Communist Chinese.

I just finished reading the comments and I certainly hope/wish those wanting Graham out would understand what will happen if the Dems have control of the house and the senate. I also wish we would all stick together and work to keep them from farther weakening the Second Amendment. It is extremely important to keep the senate under Republican leadership. I don’t know and maybe I am wrong but I believe you will see a blood bath worse than we have ever seen if they keep restricting our God given rights re-enforced by the Second Amendment. They have already gone… Read more »

Well, The Tree Of Liberty grows thirstier by the day. Whether it gets refreshed sooner, or we choose to take the coward’s way and leave it to our children and grandchildren to tend to, remains to be seen. Personally, I see no benefit in helping our masters continue their game of slowly turning up the heat on us frogs as we blissfully slow boil until it is too late to do anything about it.

Sadly, the Piece of Crap known as #RINO Lindsey Graham, #LoverOfRedFlagLaws, is the LESSOR OF THE EVILS, over the Democrat-critter. So, as so well stated prior, WE MUST HOLD OUR NOSES, through the stench of a #DeepStateProtector & basic #NeverTrumper, and vote for the RINO Graham.

Lesser of evils is still evil.

Dr. Strangelove

At least there’s one issue that Flimsy Graham can be trusted on. Otherwise, he’s a RINO.

Quatermain

Of course Harold would like Moffie Graham.

Nanashi

We’re talking about the same Graham that wants to replace American workers with cheap illegal aliens?

Nope. Let him burn.

SEMPAI

You sir are correct..

tortugabob

You must be a troll that wants gun control. Even Graham is better than the Pelosi-Bloomberg-Soros DemocRAT running against him.

Grigori

Lindsey Graham has for years, rarely failed to demonstrate just how much contempt he has for the American citizen and taxpayer. His pushes for amnesty for illegals, authorship and push of NDAA 2012, and calls for us to give more and more money to third-world toilet countries that at very best have ambiguous intent towards us, are just a few examples of his contempt. Lindsey is a tool of the Military Industrial Complex. The Republican party and voters failed to primary this POS earlier in 2020. I hate to say it, but I hope liberal Democrat Jaime Harrison beats Lindseypoo… Read more »

This is a case of throwing the baby out with the bathwater. Any Democrat wins in the Senate put them one step closer to gutting our 2A rights. The next SCOTUS pick will be critical. Schumer has already promised to eliminate the filibuster. If the Senate goes Blue, even by one seat, there won’t be enough paper in DC to print all the gun control legislation that will come in the first 100 days of the new Congress. I don’t care of Graham kicked your dog, a worthless RINO who sometimes votes against the Second or even rides the fence… Read more »

These damn RINO’s are doing as much, probably more, damage to our country as the card carrying Democrats ever hoped to do. We must start weeding them out.

You RINOs and wishy-washy Republicans don’t get it. If Biden is elected and /or the Congress goes Dem, there will be no “later” or “next year”. Through the Democrat immigration policies alone, states, such as Texas, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, just to name a few, will go like California. The Republican Party and the principles which we Second Amendment stalwarts cherish, will be vanquished. It’s no exaggeration to state, this coming November election is for the future and our posterity, forever. GET IT?

Yeah. It is so much better when the guy taking our guns from us is a “Republican” who has betrayed us for decades because thinking like yours has kept him in office that long, than a Democrat who will betray us shortly.

Got it.
