Not long ago, a Marine veteran explained the problem. Not only did he figure it out, he was amazed that he was the only one who was able to analyze the situation and identify the issue that was causing the relative scarcity (as compared to the demand at 2019 prices) of ammo. He got his crayons out and did some figuring. He concluded that the manufacturers were producing ammo, and they were shipping ammo, but it was all on trucks, driving around and around, and it wasn’t being delivered. Must hurt to be sitting on a boatload of ammo made with components that were purchased at peak prices and having the floor fall out. You can sit on the inventory and hope there are enough newbies out there that have no idea about historic prices, OR, you can go ahead and lower your prices, turn the inventory and take advantage of the opportunity costs and the good will of your customers. Sportsman’s Guide rolled my order back three times and the last time I cancelled both my order and my membership. These manufacturers told us to buck up it’s… Read more »

CCI Blazer 9mm aluminum case cartridges ought to be the least costly ammo of that caliber. At this price, it’s clearly gouging.

Definitely! No way I would pay that for aluminum cased ammo. Aluminum, besides more obvious drawbacks, has a tendency to expand and contract more than brass with temperature changes. As such, integrity of powder and primers may not be maintained if humidity is introduced to the inside of a cartridge because of unavoidable exposure to temperature extremes.
Think loss of electricity and climate control.

Let’s just call it what it is GOUGING! Somebody in the supply chain is greedy.

This time last year $480 for 2000 rds. Hummm and this price is down from over 500 a month or so ago. Hold out a little longer.
