California: Assembly Committee Hearing Gun Show Ban Legislation

California Flag NRA-ILA
No rest for the wicked: California Lawmakers are back to their old, anti-gun tricks again. IMG NRA-ILA

U.S.A. -(AmmoLand.com)- On July 13th, the Assembly Public Safety Committee is hearing SB 264, legislation that prohibits gun shows from taking place on any state property, and SB 715, legislation that limits when a hunting license can be used for firearm purchases. Please contact committee members and ask them to OPPOSE SB 264 and SB 715.

Senate Bill 264 bans state officers, employees, operators, lessees, or licensees from entering into any agreement to allow for the sale of any firearm, firearm parts, or ammunition on property that is owned, leased, occupied, or operated by the state. This imposes a one-size-fits-all restriction to prevent officials from deciding how to use venues. In addition, this prevents businesses from renting taxpayer-funded venues for lawful activities.

Senate Bill 715 limits when a hunting license satisfies the requirements for adults under 21 purchasing a long gun, by requiring the license to be currently valid. At present, a person may use an unexpired hunting license or a hunting license “that was issued for the hunting season immediately preceding the calendar year in which the person takes title or possession of a firearm.” This means an individual who has purchased a license for an upcoming season or had purchased a now-expired hunting license for the previous year will not satisfy the requirements of the bill.

Again, please contact committee members and ask them to OPPOSE SB 264 and SB 715.

Please stop making it all about Lucky Pierre. Virtually the entire board was/is in on the grift, including at least one who resigned: North. Making it all about LaPew may help them skate (“Wayne’s gone, we did our job, safe to donate again.”) when they should be forced to resign, reimburse & compensate the membership for damages, like the money they squandered & pocketed, including the cost of the 4 rubber-stamp “board meetings” per year. That alone is probably a good $40k/year each.

Wow, so let me see. I knew how to handle and shoot a rifle last year when I got my license but now that it is expired my mind doesn’t remember how to handle the gun safely and that is why I need a new current hunting license to prove that I remember or was re-trained on how to shoot?

Oh, I forgot, its demonkkkrat kommiefornians that are getting the licenses not republicans that hunted with dad at age 13. What B.S.

When I was 13 I was already eating stuff that I killed and cooked in an ammo can at Camp Rogers on Eglin AFB and had no idea that I was growing up to be enemy of the state. They told me I was the good guys back then.

You’re right about the narrative being changed by the minority in control making you or us into something we are not. When I was a kid, shooting, fishing, camping, learning how to use a chainsaw, cut, chop, split firewood and how to start a fire without a flame, making traps to catch small game, how to sharpen a knife without a sharpening stone, how to build a shelter, telling time and direction with the sun was all part of growing up. It wasn’t called being a survivalist, it was called being normal, independent and self sufficient in the wild. Today… Read more »

You will have to know the month here to use the sun effectivly for direction because in July and August it comes up in the North at 23 degrees then travels in a an oblong shape southerly across the plains to the southern border where once it crosses into New Mexico it will turn due West and go over the Rockies headed North where it will set at roughly 270 degrees which is a long way off of due west. Those who don’t know this could easily find themselves going in circles.

“ask committee members to OPPOSE SB 264 & SB 715”

Typical feckless fool NRA ‘ACTION’ errand. Beg commie Calizuela reconquistadors to honor the oath.

Cali could’ve been saved 25-30 years ago, but now it’s Calizuela, thanks to the corrupt scumbags who run NRA shoving BILLIONS of dollars in their pockets, selling A grades & endorsements to gun grabbers for quid pro quo as they did for Santa Barbara’s sheriff, and this sort of idiotic “activism”.

How does this not violate the First Amendment right to free assembly or the Civil Rights Act?

The aforementioned do not apply in California. Get with it.

it is so sad that you cant comprehend their, make so many illegal laws that they bankrupt people trying to defend their rights . They use tax dollars to defend illegal actions and we have to spend our money, without possibility of recouping spent funds from the criminals,is that simple enough to understand. It is done with foreknowledge it is illegal ,and intent.
