Michigan voted to reduce the penalty for law-abiding citizens who forget to renew their Concealed Pistol License in certain instances. IMG NRA-ILA

U.S.A. -(AmmoLand.com)- Last Tuesday, the House Judiciary Committee voted 10-1 to advance HB 4003, to reduce the penalty for law-abiding citizens who forget to renew their Concealed Pistol License in certain instances. It now goes to the full House for further consideration. Please contact your state representative and ask them to SUPPORT HB 4003.

House Bill 4003 reduces the offense of carrying a handgun on an expired CPL from a felony under current law to a civil fine of $330, as long as it’s within one year of expiration and the person is still legally eligible for a CPL. Permanently stripping Second Amendment rights from an otherwise law-abiding citizen who forgets to renew their CPL does not improve public safety.

Again, please contact your state representative and ask them to SUPPORT HB 4003.

Having lived in Michigan my entire life, then moving to utah, I can recommend getting rid of the stupid got cha clause where you have to “declare” you have a weapon if stopped by the fuzz. It’s nothing but a “got cha” bull shit part of the law written in by gun grabbers and their rino friends. Maybe it’s been changed by now so if so great. The most stupid thing ever.

Or get constitutional carry to eliminate the entire police drama crap.

I think the (as you call it) got cha clause is a good thing. Just yesterday (10-7-2021) a state trooper was shot during a traffic stop. Maybe the idiot that shot him was a felon and wasn’t supposed to have a weapon but the trooper didn’t deserve to be shot either. I’m NOT anti gun or anti LEO. I just have several friends that are.
