L.A. Elites Trying to Escape Consequences They Impose on the Rest of Us

Wealthy Democrats outsourcing birthrights to hirelings while denying the rest of us the means of effective defense is no way to run a Republic. IMG NRA-ILA

U.S.A. – -(Ammoland.com)- “High-Profile L.A. Crimes Spark Rush for Bullet-Proof Cars, Rolex Replicas and Safe Rooms,” The Hollywood Reporter observes. “Security agencies say wealthy clients are increasing protective measures: ‘They want someone who knows how to get them out of any situation.’”

“In addition to panic rooms, “…Hollywood clients are securing 24-7 security details, installing more cameras, adding barbed wire on top of fencing on their properties, and calling for armed security prepped in defensive driving to pick them up when their private jets touch down,” the report continues. “Some are taking firearm and self-defense classes while enrolling staff in security training.”

That tracks with a New York Post report documenting Beverly Hills residents arming up in spite of the anti-gun politicians they otherwise enable.

“I’ve always been anti-gun but I am right now in the process of getting myself shooting lessons because I now understand that there may be a need for me to know how to defend myself and my family,” the report quotes one Beverly Hills resident. “We’re living in fear.”

“Even hardcore leftist Democrats who said to me in the past, ‘I’ll never own a gun’ are calling me asking about firearms,” the report quotes one private security provider. “I’d say there has been an increase of 80 percent in the number of requests I’m getting this year.”

What’s that saying about “a mugged liberal”?

The thing is, we see no corresponding appreciable reconsideration of “progressive” priorities that results in a significant change in voting patterns. Voters in Los Angeles and its surrounding cities overwhelmingly elect Democrat gun-grabbers and seem oblivious to the cognitive dissonance that represents, even when their “wokeness” backfires on them.

Now they’re at risk because of “smash and grab” robberies and the like that are trending and spreading because the “authorities” fear to do what it takes to dissuade, repel and effectively prosecute them. When police in Beverly Hills responded to “a significant increase in calls for service in our business community,” they were embarrassed to find, according to a lawsuit for “egregious profiling,” that “99% of people arrested by [the] ‘safe streets’ unit were Black.”

There’s no easy out and plenty of reason to think things can and will get much worse. Those who lived there during the Los Angeles Riots (or “rebellion [and] defining moment,” depending on your point of view) saw whole sections of the city ceded to utter predatory anarchy for extended periods. We still shake our heads recalling seeing the mayor impose an emergency order ban on ammunition sales to the “law-abiding” and then watching criminals laugh at that and loot gun stores. The vast majority of Angelenos don’t seem to have learned a thing.

“Progressive” one-percenters may “feel” like their wealth will buy them safe passage when the cultural Marxism they are enabling blows up in everyone’s faces, but there’s really no historical precedent for making such assumptions. That’s just not the way such things play out in feeding frenzies. When we see symbolic (for now) pitchfork protests targeting Michael Bloomberg, it’s fair to ask at what point will security personnel be inclined to reassess who their primary loyalties are reserved for and say “Nuts to this”?

whoa, whoa, whoa, i thought fences and firearms didn’t work. and isn’t it racist for the beverly hills police department to arrest so many black people for smash and grab robberies? or are they just doing their jobs? nothing says take what isn’t yours more than a progressive ideology.

Never confuse wealth and celebrity with intelligence.
They will keep blindly voting Democrat, like if TSHTF they will be spared..

The other dirty secret of the wealthy in Kalifornia is this. If they buy a second home in states like Arizona or Utah they can get a state ID in that (free) state. Then they can buy guns in many gun stores and from individuals in free states. You would be surprised to see who is showing up in guns stores on the right side of the Colorado River. And Cal DoJ clowns are right behind them. Hypocrisy is one cornerstone of Progressive ideology. Not in My Back Yard. Rules for thee but not for me.

Wild Bill

I did not know that. If they can fake residency in one state to get Id, and buy guns, maybe they could vote in a second state, too!

Big George

Wrong. I’m moving to AZ from commiefornia the first of next year. You cannot purchase guns or ammo with just an AZ State issued ‘ID card’, if that’s what you’re talking about. An AZ driver’s license is minimum proof of residency with a secondary form of residency like a gas & electric bill, etc.

True. But BATF regs say a person with multiple homes is a resident of the state wherever he is currently staying, for the purpose of buying guns. It’s a lot looser than voting law.

Wait until the smash and grab party of 30 to 100 people shows up at Beverly Hills mansions for hollywood hypocrites to sing a different song and dance.

Wild Bill

Hmmm, “… the smash and grab party … ” is that a pet name for the democrat or repub party?

Same thing here in commie liberal NJ. It started a lot earlier – we added 1M new firearm owners since 2019 – about 1/2 are women, many are minorities, and 90% are liberals; republicans have always been gun owners here. Apparently there was a glut of people last year going into the gun stores asking for the “gun show loophole”, which is hilarious. Once informed they would need to get a NJ FID card (about a month to get during slow times), and then would have to also get a pistol permit for a handgun – many were outraged. Even… Read more »

You can anything you want, as long as the state gets it’s cut.

Arizona Don

Why would anyone live there other of course than a democrat?

knives and clubs, let them kill each other off, problem is conservatives that try to save these people just enable them

It is times like these that show the, “elites,” they are not the, “untouchables,” they think they are. They are merely simple human beings like the rest of us who need the Constitution of the United States of America to be put back in place as the law of the land, not the communist manifesto as they seem to think will give them a utopia. They have been given a non censored show of what the utopia of communism will give them, and it isn’t pretty as they think it will be. But will they learn from it? Do I… Read more »

Perhaps you should check what “herd immune(sic)” means. I’m assuming you are referring to herd immunity which is a population dynamic that occurs when sufficient members of a population incur immunity to an infection via natural infection or an effective vaccination, and hence the probability of additional members of that population contracting the infection is significantly reduced. Having had the CCP virus you, Oldvet, most likely have acquired a good degree of natural immunity, but that is entirely different than herd immunity, and is only an infinitesimally small fraction of the natural process of developing natural population dynamic known as… Read more »

We are having a rash of huge drug busts here in NW Arizona on our freeways. Stolen cars and even commercial big rigs are ferrying meth, coke and fentinol our of CA and to the midwest. Our troopers are having a field day on this but they admit they only get a small percentage. And with that comes violent crime. That disease spreads from progressive utopias like CA to surrounding states. Thankfully we are all very well armed here.

Wild Bill

I have heard that honey can not decompose due to bacterial action. I do not know if that is true or not.

n 2012, it was reported that the world’s oldest honey had been discovered in 2003 in the country of Georgia, west of Tblisi, during oil pipeline construction. Archaeologists estimate the honey is about 5,500 years old. Three types of honey were found – meadow flower, berry and linden, they have also found from date palms in Mesopotamia

Wild Bill

Honey sounds like a peppers dream.

Wild Bill

Good to know. We only use animal fly spray, but it is not a spray. You have to put it on a rag and rub it on the horses and cows. We also use granulated fire ant poison. We have not had to use any sprays on the hay meadows.

Wild Bill

Good to know. America has become a place of shortages and if no fire ant granules are available then we still have a tool

Wild Bill

Good to know!

Wild Bill

Cool! I’m going to check the used book sites, first. I hate to pay full price.
Thanks for sharing that info.

Wild Bill

We had hot biscuits and honey for breakfast. We did not mind heating the oven on this cold winter morning, I can tell you!!

Wild Bill

I would lick it off the spoon while the tea was in the microwave!

Vinegar daily with honey. Will keep you healthy & thin. Don’t forget to use a little baking soda here & there. Ginger is also good for ya. I watched my blood work at the VA change dramatically with vinegar & honey.
