U.S.A. -(AmmoLand.com)- On Friday, the Washington Senate pulled magazine ban legislation, Senate Bill 5078 to the Senate Floor where it is eligible for a vote for passage.  NRA Members and Second Amendment supporters probably recall this measure from last year, previously reported here.  Please contact your State Senator IMMEDIATELY and ask them to OPPOSE Senate Bill 5078.

Senate Bill 5078, bans the manufacture, possession, sale, transfer, etc., of magazines that “are capable of holding,” or hold more than, 12 rounds of ammunition.  This includes conversion kits or parts from which any such magazine may be assembled.  These so-called “high capacity” magazines are, in fact, standard equipment for commonly-owned firearms that many Americans legally and effectively use for an entire range of legitimate purposes, such as self-defense or competition.  For example, the Glock 19 was the most commonly purchased firearm of 2021 and has a standard-issue magazine that holds 15 rounds of ammunition. Those who own non-compliant magazines prior to the ban are only allowed to possess them on their own property and in other limited instances, such as at licensed shooting ranges or while hunting.

Prohibited magazines have to be transported unloaded and locked separately from firearms, and must be stored locked at home, making them unavailable for self-defense.  Any violation of this measure is a gross misdemeanor punishable by a maximum of 364 days in jail and/or a fine of up to $5,000.

Again, please contact your State Senator and ask them to OPPOSE Senate Bill 5078.

Washington is likely to pass this stupid bill. I took my WA state pension and moved to Idaho 15 years ago. Idaho is a free state and not a slave state like Washington. The gun laws in WA have been getting bad for several years.I bought an excellent Glock M48 with a 10 round magazine, just because I travel to states with limits on magazines. I expect WA to join those other states since the democrats control the state.Even Eastern WA once a strong Republican area is under the control of Olympia. Eastern WA voters unfortunately do not vote. They… Read more »

Washington laws would be meaningless without people like you to enforce them.

Make sure you tell your Idaho neighbors you would enforce future gun laws, such as a requirement to register semiautomatic rifles.

– What were Washington gun laws like 15 years ago?

Maybe enforced tyrannical laws, maybe he didn’t. He retired from them 15 years ago and most likely has grown/changed/developed over that period. I know my knowledge, awareness, and attitudes have evolved considerably over the last decade.

For all we know he regales his Idaho neighbors with tales of how bad Washington has become – and motivates them all to be politically active in order to prevent the disease from spreading.

Have not noticed if he’s ever replied to your repeated comments. Would be nice to hear his perspective.

When he indicated he would enforce laws requiring registration of semiautomatic rifles, I learned all I really needed to know.

He should really provide this information to his neighbors. There are a lot of good people living in Idaho.

You really are a fascist little troll aren’t you?

You are a self-righteous prick! You have no mercy in your heart, your mind, or your soul: you are perfect all the time, and everyone else is absolute scum!

That is how you think even though you will reject the statement I’ve just made as being false! However, reading your comment to Don proves that I am in fact right!

Quite frankly you self-righteous little prick you are scum!

Have a nice day!

You will be in the back of a squad car thanking the people who arrested you for owning a .22 single shot rifle.

Quite frankly, you are what is wrong with the U.S. and every other country that has come under totalitarian rule.

It shows your complete lack of any semblance of intelligence when you call someone who advocates for freedom a fascist.

I’m replying on 1/19 at 6:43 Mountain Time. Almost all my posts since early last week have been going on hold.

Thanks for the comment.

Neanderthal75 becomes unhinged when people who will enforce extreme gun control laws are criticized. Who’s the totalitarian?

Wild Bill

Maybe someone is examining your comments.

Nice Projection, Agent!

Sadly, he’s not an agent. He is one of the many, many people in the U.S. who back the blue no matter what they do. It’s a problem.

Neanderthal75 is just a miserable, house-bound man talking tough on the internet with his finger on the downvote button 18 hours a day. He couldn’t do what I do for fun much less back up his emotional, hysterical insults.

I don’t know if he was an enforcer a long, long time ago or if he watches too much Hannity.

Wild Bill

Driving more people away from the site!

Wild Bill

They are trying to rule this website. You would not be the first one to leave.

“They are trying to rule this website. You would not be the first one to leave.” ~ Wild Bill

No comment from you on Neanderthal75’s insults? You have commented before on much, much milder language from others.

“They” are against never-ending gun control. That includes speaking out at the politicians who create the laws and those enforcers who enforce them.

Sold my AR years ago because I wasn’t using it. What a fool!

Buy a new one. There are no good deals on them. The SA Saint Victor is a great choice.

Wild Bill

We have all done that at one time or another. We feel your pain!!!

Don’t comply.

Enforcers should not enforce.

Seen on a T-Shirt: “I’m getting really tired of repeating myself.” – History

The left coast has sucked in the past, sucks right now and most likely will suck forever. Why any one would continue to reside & pay taxes to these douchebags is beyond comprehension.

this could easily happen to a state capitol uncomfortably near YOU. I hve lived in Washington since 1980, and until these past five or so years anything like this would have been laughably impossible. I am also more than aware of vote fraud being rampant in this state. The current administration seem to think that is just fine. Of course, that’s how nearly every governor and DA aince Queen Christine stole HER “election” a few decades back. People should have gone to jail for their role in the “recounts”mall three of them. But none did.

We had preemption get ripped to shreds by the Democrats last year, in Virginia and other laws that we had worked for years to get on the books. It can happen anywhere. It only takes one election to let the enemy through the gates.
Hopefully with the new Republican governor and House of Delegates we’ll be able to turn this back around. I’m already working on my delegate, senator & others to get 2nd Amendment preemption as a state constitutional amendment.

Wasn’t that long ago Washington was far more right-wing than now. Sigh.

California libtards ruined Washington state in my lifetime (65)

On the one hand, are peaceable citizens, on the other hand, are violent criminals who prey upon peaceable citizens. The supporters of this bill seem to be trying to make sure the violent criminals get a sporting chance.

Self defense is not a sport, and peaceable citizens need every advantage they can get.

Just whose side are these legislators on?

Wild Bill

The legislators are for the most part career politicians or want to be in the ruling class. They are on their own side.

concurr to the tenthfold

Stupefying ignorance on so many levels & has no bounds.

Spoons make you Fat, Pencils cause Lead Poisoning, Insurance protects you, VaXXines are a panacea mentality …

keep the people stupid and afraid, you can be king………..and it is tables that make you fat not spoons

Wrong! It’s a total lack of self control tha5 causes most problems!

And comprehension issues can make one look stupid.

yea thought people here would get the tongue in cheek nod to pushing away from table….aka self control, there are exceptions to fat rule but they are medical oddities

Lol – good one

Unlawful taking. What a concept. I guess the Constitution is a dead letter in the Blue Utopia of Washington.

BUT – they are not taking. If you have one you can keep it!
Of course you cannot use them and tiny errors in how and where you store them “justify” jailing you for a year – but freedom for all is a small price to pay for one person somewhere possibly having a fleeting moment of feeling safer.
Seems Kennedy was right. Our biggest problem is fear itself. All those fearful people pushing legislators to push for blue-violence against innocent citizens.

no it is NOT the fearful pushing this agenda. It is thepwoermongers, starting up at the top with folks like Soros, Gates, ALlen, Hannauer Bloomburg….. these are the ones behind this nonsense, and have been for years. The fearmongering does tend to lull the masses into a stupour from which few manage to emerge. The fear porn now rampant in “response” to the WooFlew has done much to promote “trust us we know what’s best for you and you don’t”.

You are right. It is the anti-freedom leaders stoking fear among the ignorant. They are using that fear for their own purposes. Those ‘leaders’ have no concern for morality or rights or lives of the ‘little’ guys. Blue-violence is just another means for control, while simultaneously stoking fear among their followers which provides even more control.

Atleast in king county where only their votes are counted

Would you have enforced this law when you worked for the Washington State Patrol?

Unless there was a need, I wouldn’t even have counted.

“Unless there was a need” – please clarify.

What if you were ordered to arrest a specific person and you knew the person was non-compliant?

I was municipal police. The state handles the pension. When I was working the gun laws were pretty sane. There was little opportunity to take action. When I made a traffic stop, I never worried about guns. I figured that the person is just stopped for traffic and it was their business. When it was a serious offense where the person was going to jail, then it was an issue. Offenders were few and far between.

My mistake – I thought you had once written that you were State Police.

As a municipal police officer, if this magazine law was in effect at that time, would you have enforced it against a particular individual if you were ordered to do so and you knew that individual was non-compliant?

“When I was working the gun laws were pretty sane.”

So there were no gun laws?

He has previously indicated he would have enforced registration of semiautomatic rifles.

He has refused to indicate whether he would enforce confiscation.

He is worse than Dianne Feinstein and his fellow enforcers here back him up. It’s disgusting.

I’ve noticed there are at least 7 here who think a little tyranny is just dandy. Speaking of tyranny. I thought good southern cops, especially sheriffs, opposed tyranny? I keep hearing how only cops in “yankee” or “liberal” states enforce arms laws. I wonder why the Alabama Sheriff’s Association is working with Moms Demand Action to stop “constitutional carry” legislation? I wonder why the head of the ASA would love to see the 2A revised to restrict our rights? Given his interpretation of the Second Amendment, 1819 News asked Timmons if ASA would support amending the Constitution to limit the… Read more »

Thanks for posting the article. The group who backs the blue no matter what they do is largely the same group of people who took decades to realize that the NRA is not really “fighting for their rights.” The “I hate Yankees,” “I hate people from state x,” and “I hate people born in years x” chanting only serves to cause division within the group of people who believe in firearm rights. We have a frequent poster here who actually criticizes people for being activists for firearm rights. He then went on to admit he hasn’t done anything other than… Read more »
