Georgia’s Governor Kemp Signs Constitutional Carry

U.S.A. -(AmmoLand.com)- Governor Brian Kemp signed Senate Bill 319, constitutional carry, into law. Georgia is now the 25th constitutional carry state, and the fourth to join that group in 2022. Half of the country now recognizes the right of a law-abiding adult who is legally allowed to carry a concealed firearm, to do so without first having to obtain government permission. This ensures that citizens have the right to self-defense without government red tape or delays. Constitutional carry goes into effect immediately.

Gov. Kemp also signed House Bill 218, to grant universal recognition to concealed carry permits held by non-Georgia residents, issued by any other state. It also directs the Georgia Attorney General to enter into formal reciprocity agreements with any state that requires a formal agreement to recognize a Georgia Weapons Carry License. This reform recognizes that Georgia residents traveling to other states, and visitors to Georgia, should not be left defenseless simply by crossing a state line.

NRA thanks Gov. Kemp for signing these pro-self-defense bills into law, and also thanks Representative Mandi Ballinger, Senator Jason Anavitarte, Speaker David Ralston, Representatives Alan Powell, Rick Jasperse, and J. Collins, Senate President Pro Tempore Butch Miller, Senator Brian Strickland, all the cosponsors in each chamber, and GA2A for their hard work getting these bills to his desk.

Tangential to NRA-ILA: About 10 minutes ago, received a phone call from “NRA”. Told the person I’m a Life Member, would still support our ILA but that Wayne LaPierre and his wife have got to go.
I don’t know the “rules of order” showing them the door, but I do understand WLP has a sweet golden-parachute deal that he and his wife can use for those pesky, expensive lawyers #RetireWLPAndWife

FYI, before I knew about the whole Wayne LaPierre fiasco, I dumped NRA about ten or so years ago because of ILA. Previously, I had donated to ILA and was an NRA member because of ILA. Then one day I began noticing things about ILA that were disturbing. I noted how ILA was bad about endorsing and giving A ratings to incumbent candidates in my state Legislature who may have done a nice thing or few for us in bygone years, but who in more recent times had cut our throats on really good pro-2A bills. In other words, these… Read more »

Thank you for your story, I appreciate it and respect your stance. I’ve heard the same ILA-attitude towards our political process and the candidates and representatives who play therein.

Yes Negotiating Rights Away has a long proud tradition of aiding in the infringement of Americans and members 2 nd. amendment rights since 1934

You’ll love this: NRA now only shows grades of candidates up for election within a few months. All other grades are hidden so we can’t see the corrupt quid pro quo grading deals.

Congratulations Georgia! I am glad for you!
50% of states with Permitless Carry is a good milestone!

Oh noes – yet another state where there will be shootouts at high noon, duels at dawn and the blood will be running ankle deep all over the cities and towns. Oh wait, that has NEVER happened in any of the states that have enacted either concealed carry laws (Florida) or permitless carry – most recently Georgia. And that is is spite of the continuing claims by the ant0gun crowd that it is guaranteed (by them) to happen. Why it is almost as if Law Abiding Citizen gun owners have remarkable self control and good judgement. Meanwhile, criminals DO commit… Read more »

Great. So why is NRA protecting the scum who blocked FL Con Carry: Sen Pres Wilton “Red Flag” Simpson & Rep Chuckmeat Brannon?

“Groups attacking Simpson should stand in line to thank him for not hearing 14 gun control bills. Brannan has a solid NRA ‘A’, true friend to gunowners & 2A.” -Marion Hammer

This is good BUT, georgia has an historical habit of applying the law UNEQUALLY when it comes to black citizens, they LOVE to harass black people there .. .

Evidence? I don’t buy it, not with the biggest city run by blacks, racist Stacey Abrams bigger than all the white politicians put together, and Herschel Walker the R candidate for US Senate.

Speaking of racist Stacy Abrams, if she was given a thorough colonoscopy bowel prep, the procedure would be unnecessary since she would have disappeared.

LOL. She probably eats potential rivals.
