Florida – -(AmmoLand.com)- Last year, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis made a promise to the people of the Sunshine State. He promised to pass and sign Constitutional Carry into law, permitting law-abiding Floridians to legally carry a firearm without special permission from the state.
Constitutional Carry—often called “permitless carry”—isn’t exactly a radical notion. Twenty-five states, including all of Florida’s neighbors, have implemented Constitutional Carry, reaffirming the Second Amendment.
Unfortunately, although Florida has the second most gun owners in the country, the state doesn’t have the best track record of upholding its citizens’ right to bear arms. The state has a dystopian “red flag” gun law on the books, allowing the government to forcibly take guns from people they decide shouldn’t have them and leaving law-abiding gun owners with little legal recourse.
One incident that raises questions about the governor’s own track record is the arrest of a peaceful pro-gun demonstrator at a DeSantis fundraiser. The protester wasn’t even attempting to carry a firearm; he was arrested for simply standing there with a sign. The fundraising event, it should be noted, was also made “gun-free,” despite the fact that doing so may have violated Florida law.
If Governor DeSantis reneges on his promise to pass true Constitutional Carry, he is sending a strong message to the rest of America that he will not stand up for Americans’ rights when the time comes.
This would be a big step in the wrong direction for Governor DeSantis and the state of Florida writ large. Both became synonymous with American freedom and ideals during the COVID-19 pandemic when Florida stubbornly remained open for the greater good, and the state cannot risk taking a step back now.
While Governor DeSantis himself has not openly endorsed specific legislation yet, he is allowing establishment Republicans in the Florida House of Representatives to pawn their bill off as “Constitutional Carry” when it is anything but.
Their bill, HB 543, does not permit individuals to open carry, nor would it allow young adults aged 18 to 20 to exercise their Second Amendment rights. If HB 543 were to reach Governor DeSantis’ desk and he was to declare it a Constitutional Carry victory, the Florida governor would go from being the man who fought COVID-19 tyranny to just another politician looking for a quick “win.”
There are nearly 350,000 gun owners [editor’s note, this 350,000 number more accurately represents the number of known registered guns (343,288) in the state of Florida. Actual gun ownership is estimated as much higher at 35.3% of the population of Florida. SOURCE, Source, Source] Each and every one of them deserves the full constitutional protections provided by the Second Amendment. Governor DeSantis should not compromise when delivering on his promise. As the nation’s most active youth liberty organization, Young Americans for Liberty urges the Florida governor to keep his promise, defend the Second Amendment, and get Constitutional Carry—concealed carry and open carry—across the finish line.

If you’re going to enforce the Constitution, enforce the whole thing. It’s not a buffet.
And its the reason it’s a paper tiger. No way at this time we can enforce it.
Sure, you can! True Constitutional Carry re-establishes freedoms and liberty lost to the chuckleheads before us relieves law enforcement of all the excessive pressures of tip-toing over people’s lives. Blanket policy RIGHTS that are inherent NEVER have to be explained to anyone with the exception of the illegals invading our country and those that are ignorant of theirs’s and EVERYBODY’S RIGHTS!
Ron DeSantis is a “Poser” conservative when it comes to the 2nd Amendment. He should have been pushing like crazy to end that ridiculous, unconstitutional Red Flag Law bullshit in that state. But no, he’s got to keep the North Eastern Soccer Mommy vote that is pouring into that state.
When Senator RINO Scott is up for re-election think of the Red Flag Law he signed into law when you vote in the Primary.
Fuk Scott. Vote for a MAGA candidate.
Well, the original MAGA himself is a fan of, and even enacts, arms laws so…
Shhhh…!!!! He is a divine and perfect person, without fault or flaw. Talk like that will get this and any comment by you downvoted for some time to come. In fact, you already got one but I brought it back up to zero.
Oh, I’m aware. Any honest talk of the orange infringer or “red state” local, county, and/or state enforcers is taboo. If downvotes worried me I would have kept my mouth shut long ago but thank you anyways for the upvote. Alas, you seem to have been overridden and they’re hot on your tail as well.
I know! Same here!
You are looking at it in the wrong way. Only four people actually oppose your view. Think of the thousands that ignore you completely.
Spot on – which is what makes your statement so funny. OTOH – net negative four does not mean only four votes. For all we know there were 10000 up votes and 10004 down votes. Total negative four suggests that ammoland readers may be fairly evenly split on this topic. Personally, my biggest concern with Trump is that being as divisive as he is, he would inspire rather high turnout of anti-trump voters. Thus Trump running in 2024 is the single biggest factor that could result in harris being re-elected. Another factor could be if Biden hangs on, only leaving… Read more »
Harris being re-elected? Oh, you mean as vice president? Even the woke Democrats will not abide with that, and I really don’t think, even if we get that far, that Biden will even get the nod. He is now fiddling while our Republic borders on oblivion. Ever wonder where those unidentified flying objects are coming from? I can tell you this: They are either coming from us or them.
I am in total agreement my friend. I just said it that way for for another way of putting it, so that ‘they’ might understand …………?
We are all living in LALALand……and….just think what it will be like in another month or so. Next thing you know, they, meaning the progressives, will try to get a constitutional amendment to remove the Presidential term limits, so both Barrack Hussein and HITLERY can rule the world, again.
True. But the sneaky muslim is better at camouflaging his deeds and intentions. Remember what he said about Joe, “never underestimate how badly Joe can f* things up”. That is the only thing I can agree with Obummer about.
Yep, she is dreaming alright. Never happen.
I continue to expect Biden to leave office within next 18 months. No guess as to whether he’ll be carried (bagged & tagged), removed or resign – but without divine intervention hyena woman would become potus. We might survive a year (as a nation), but no way we’d make it through a full term under her “leadership.” That’s the “reelected” to which I was referring.
Seems we both agree that Biden will not be “serving” another term.
Finnky, we do agree about Biden, I am not so sure about Kameltoe, tho. Let’s say for instance, they get the goods on Biden and have to impeach him. the impeachment is successful for whatever reason, and then the hyena takes over and then, cuz she can’t handle the job she is impeached-success again.. That’s cool, then in steps McCarthy and all is well until the Orangeman is re-elected for the second time, That is pie in the sky, I know, however our country is in such disarray that ANYTHING is possible
I’m just lucky you don’t ignore me, Bill. Whatever would I do?
Why the thumb down votes here? Trump showed his true Democrat roots when he allowed bump stock infringement. I like Trump but don’t be knucklehead’s by pretending he supports 2A. Be true to the 2A, no matter when Trump tells you he supports our rights and then bans them.
Good luck getting any intellectual honesty out of them. They call out the mere mention of gun control by any other politician but completely ignore their dear leader when he actually enacts it. They’ve fallen victim to that cult of personality.
I have been saying this about DeSantis and others for years. It’s about time that at least some are seeing through this rhetoric.
Conservatives need to stop jumping on every band wagon. West, DeSantis, Gowdy, on and on it goes with Conservatives falling for the BS every time.
Learn to spot the grifters!
I find it easy to spot grifters. I consider them a grifter if the answer is “Yes” to the question, “Was he/she voted into public office?” I’m rarely disappointed.
And you know these reasonings to be a fact rather than to actually review the pork in these bills and discover that the power of the line-item veto is a double-edged sword that MUST be addressed each and every time prior to signing of each bill?
Don’t forget Tulsi Gabbard. Fox is pushing the heck out of her. She is another Dr. Ozz, one of Trumps big mistakes.
Tulsi Gabbard is a graduate of the WEF Young Global Leaders Class of 2015. Other WEF grads are Tom Cotton, Pierre Trudeau/Castro, Marcon, and many other people in high positions to advance the WEF agenda, which includes killing all of us off. Especially here in the U.S. if you are a Christian or a 2A advocate.
I find that hard to believe. She doesn’t play the game of masks, fags in girls sports, abortion or government doing business with china. Show me where it states that she attended whatever WEF from a reputable source, and what’s WEF.
She is from Hawaii, man. She has voted anti-gun more than once. Not to be trusted.
Your right. My mistake. I was talking about Kristi Noem. Tulsi is an anti gun beeotch. I hate that FOX is promoting her just like the wizzard of oz. Trumps, mistake.
My Boo Boo. Ouch!!!!
Oh no problem. It was an easy enough mixup to make. Yeah, and I know I will get voted down to hell and back for saying this but it is true, Big T has a disturbing pattern of endorsing and selecting very questionable personages, whether for his own Administration or for us to vote for. That, and any gun-related actions he took while in office were absolutely against our interests and that of 2A.
I think Big Ts problem is that he is not a politician in the normal sense of the word but I think that was to our advantage. He did straighten out a lot of our trading mess, told the UN where they could possilbly go and cut of countries that didn’t like us from getting our dollars. I could afford to survive back then and I know I had more freedom than under Uncle Joe Kamalatoe Obiden. I would take Trump back anyday rather than deal with the moron that we have now for the stolen election liar and thief.
True about conditions then vs now. My gut feeling is and has long been that they are all (despite appearances) working together, for the same side, to further the agendas of the NWO. I think we are caught in a Good Cop/Bad Cop scenario with Trump playing the part of the Good Cop. As with real life GC/BC, both cops get their check from the same place. Both are playing the suspect (in this case, us). Neither really cares what happens to the suspect (in this case, us) when it is all said, done, and over with. They are just… Read more »
I understand why and how you feel. We are of the same cloth in that opinion. One thing I take to heart is that President Trump donated his salary to the veterans. No other president has done that. Anyone that is selfish or greedy wouldn’t do that. That gives me hope that if he becomes president again he will come back smarter, stronger, wiser, and faster in accomplishing his goals messing up the demonratts for years were they will not be able to move back in and take control like they did with the Obiden administration. Trump 2024, Kristi Noem… Read more »
And he built the wall to protect the American people from drugs and disease and welfare recipients. Trump threw a whole embassy of Chinese spies out of our country. Moved faster on the COVID virus than any other person in office … anywhere. Deployed hospital ships. Got tax reform passed that benefitted the middle class, blue collar worker rather than the wealthy or the nonworker. Stabilized the economy so that inflation was 1.4 percent and GDP was 6.7 percent. Some say that he was the best president for the middle class since … the very beginning.
Hi Wild Bill! Do you remember how he had to be dragged, kicking and screaming the whole way, to build that wall, though? In late 2017, he signed his first Federal budget with no provision whatsoever for a wall. When questioned about it Trump said it was “an oversight” and would not happen again. A year later, it is budget signing time and he is about to do the exact same thing again. This time, pundit Ann Coulter called him on it, upsetting him greatly. Then follows weeks of him spasmodically “trying” to find funding for the wall, including the… Read more »
Your claim is irrelevant because the wall was getting built up until Biden stole the election.
Well, if he had genuinely started on the wall from the beginning, as implied from the campaign trail, the wall project might have been completed by the time Biden took office. Instead, Biden got the say-so on completion and we know how that ended. Again, I don’t think T wanted the wall. At least if he did, it wasn’t the priority for him that his campaign speeches made us think it was.
Sometimes in order to do what is right you have to force the issue. Demonratts were against giving the American people funds to build the wall and he had to be tactful in finding a way to protect America because he was not willing to sell it down the shitter like the current stolen election liar and thief in office right now is and has been doing. Trump took funds to build the wall, they said you cant do that and then after it was tried in court they said oh yes he can. It’s hard to be someone of… Read more »
Hi MusicMan! I understand your point, but still operating on the premise that we are caught between the “Good” Cop and the Bad Cop, I think the salary thing makes for good optics. To you or me, $400,000 would be a healthy some of money. To him, it is chump change. Even 1.6 million (over 4 years) is not that great to an existing billionaire. When your real money comes not from that salary, but from the likes of Soros and/or the Rothschilds, that $400,000 (1.6 million) becomes even less significant, but it does make for a nice prop when… Read more »
Character is a hard thing to judge. We all have been wrong.
True, but he bats zero constantly. I will never believe that he got to be a billionaire by being such a p-ss poor judge of character.
Judge of character has a lot to do with it. Look at what he did to china and other countries that mess with us and global economy. He brought together countries that refused to do business together in foreign muslim lands’. He did what all other presidents have blown smoke up our A____es and moved the consulate in Israel. No one has ever put them in there place and obiden kisses their ass just like obummer, bush and clinton. We should be grateful if we get President Trump back and count our lucky stars. I know you are right. I don’t like the fact that it took 3 missiles to hit one. Not good.
Three missiles to hit which one? I haven’t heard that yet….but of course, I am senile….
LOL, glad we are on the same team. I saw on the computer yesterday where a citizen recorded the attempt to hit the balloon. I saw two missiles miss. My concern was when the missiles petered out, where did the end up and were they able to disarm them before they hit the ground.
Don’t remember if I read this here or saw it somewhere else but I LMAO when I saw it.
When does a Chinese parachute deploy? Upon impact.
Now that IS funny and probably true……I suppose it could be that the targets were just too small for an air to air missile to hit? I thought that an F-15 still carried cannons or guns…..could be wrong.never been that close to one… But I DO remember Maverick saying, “Too close for missiles, going to guns”? Will that POS Trudeau ever release any info or his counterpart ….ol’ Sleepy Joe? This is all too weird and we will probably never know the truth, because according to them, we are unable to understand. They called the first one Chinese, and they… Read more »
A “citizen” recorded the attempt to hit the balloon? Which balloon? And what kind of missiles? How did that “citizen” know exactly when to start recording and which aircraft would be firing? Man, your quick. My web page doesn’t have the news yet.
LOL, anything is possible.
Question. Isn’t it funny out of all the leaks of documents, computers and people telling lies in DC, that Epstein’s client list is the one document that is not discoverable?
I was thinking hit it with a laser. That could burn a pinhole in it and it would come down slowly. If there are explosives inside we would soon find out.
And China has nothing to do with “bringing us to the brink of war” right? It’s all Biden’s fault is it? I don’t like the senile piece of crap either – but come on – quit blaming the US for every evil will ya? Biden is a corrupt, lying, demented old man – his son, a corrupt, thieving, drug addicted slimeball. We know what “High Dog Harris” is all about. Another question about blow hard joe , with his lies about the pope and bishops (approving his views on abortion) Why doesn’t the church excommunicate him???
Yeah … I think that I recall something about the church refusing to give him communion.
Hi Music Man! On most stuff we seem to agree, but my observation of Trump tells me a somewhat different story about him and his intentions. I made a lengthy reply to one of your posts but it wound up in AMMOLAND moderation limbo unless and until they free it up. Like yourself, I was happy when he stood up to the Islamists and moved the consulate. That said, Israel is not wanting for representation in our government. I was unable to find a 2023 updated list, but we have quite a few dual-citizen members of The House and Senate… Read more »
Well!!! we can always agree to disagree. He is not going to destroy the swamp by himself so I think. It is too deep and to rich to have one person destroy it.
I would rather that Trump pisses down my back though I don’t think he did that, than a demonrat screws me in the Jackass which is what we get every day from the demonkkkratt party.
The swamp can be destroyed by firing all SES and GS15s and GS 14s. Those government workers are only entitled to two weeks notice. Send a note to OPM that so and so is on notice of being fired and that two weeks from this date they will no longer be paid. Then send U. S. Marshalls to collect their keys, badges, and guns, and usher them out of the office before they can use their computer.
Last put the GS 13s temporary charge. If the GS13s won’t play ball, promote them to GS 14 and fire them, too!
So we can assume by your statement above that you didn’t vote in the 2020 presidential election? Right?
I left the Presidential part of my ballot blank in 2020. Trump proved to my satisfaction that The Deep State selects the candidate that best suits their needs and purposes at the time. No use voting when they have it sewn up.
That is excellent news!
Trump, however, was not a professional politician, nor part of government. He came out of no where. Early on no one thought that Trump would be the Repub candidate. How could the deep state have picked him? They could not have and did not.
Biden, a professional politician, and failure at everything else, a weak man and puppet was the perfect “Deep State” choice. Bidden was chosen over many younger, more mentally competent, and popular candidates to be the Democrat candidate. What a coincidence.
Hi Wild Bill! I am about to say something that you might take as an insult, but it is not intended as such, just honest observation. I gather that you, and many other genuinely good people on here, are not well versed on topics related to The Deep State/New World Order/Illuminati, etc. That is okay. Sadly, most in our country are not. Time and space do not allow for a detailed lesson so I would implore you and others to do some reading on the topic. Hopefully, you will find references that treat it with the seriousness that it deserves.… Read more »
So, in effect, you voted for Biden in 2020. And now you are reaping the benefit you obtained by voting for him. although you ‘really didn’t’. There is, IMO, a correlation between voting for the less evil option than not voting at all. One should always weigh everything when going to the polls, ie if you truly care about our Republic. Having Trump derangement syndrome is a sickness for which there is apparently no cure.
Hi Oldman! I am not a “never Trumper”. I was cautiously optimistic about him when I voted for him in 2016. Over time, I have grown sick to death of voting for “lesser of evils” who turn out to be as evil as the PO S that they were running against. They get away with doing more harm because those on our side make excuses for the wrong they do. Please don’t start that TDS bs with me. Geeze, I feel like I am trapped in “Groundhog’s Day”, having to explain and re-explain points. Whoosh….. Kavanaugh, as with SO MANY other Swamp creatures that Trump hired, appointed, nominated, and selected, for four years, was a terrible choice. Many conservatives, myself included, never wanted to see him go in on SCOTUS. He was Turncoat Roberts’ clerk at one time and he wrote the opinion(s?) That should have immediately disqualified… Read more »
That is because you only think that you are explaining. Where is the evidence that K was a terrible choice? No evidence or logic to support your conclusion. See the pattern?
Yes, of course. Sorry.
Obviously, you lack the mental capacity to continue this discussion. If the part about Kavanaugh writing Roberts’ “justification” for the mandate didn’t register, just forget it. I understand in one of the pro-gun decisions in the last year or two, Kavanaugh and his butt buddy Roberts insisted on minimizing what would have been a slam dunk for 2A if Justice Thomas had his way. Well, all I can say about your response is that it is not worth responding to. Have a great day.
Somebody mentions him and I find it difficult to not respond, especially when so many as yourself seemingly worship him as a Devine entity who is without fault.
Good job Musicman44mag…excellent synopsis. Christi Noem – I don’t know. Kari Lake – maybe. Neither one of them have much or any experience in D.C. That place will chew up and spit out the uninitiated.
Do you know that he is a billionaire? He got wealthy by inheriting his fathers money and business organization. While running that organization, Trump was the darling of minority NGOs because he hired so many minority persons and paid them equal wages.
and who hasn’t made mistakes in their life especially someone doing a new job that has never dealt with elements that have been hidden for years and a hidden regime that controls everything.
Obiden has no excuse, he has been in office for 100 years and look how bad he has Fd up America but he is doing it on purpose.
Jail the bastard oh I mean the dumb son of a bitch.
But, have you looked over the rest of the “flock” to be selected?
Hi Grunt! This a a big, expansive country with a lot of people with many talents, abilities, and specialties. No way, will you ever convince me that Nikki Haley was in the top 500 choices he could have made for UN Ambassador. Ditto Kavanaugh and ACB for SCOTUS, or Bolton for Secretary of Defense, or Pompeo as Secretary of State, or anti-gunner Chuck Canterbury as head of BATF (who thankfully did not get it), or Bill Barr as Attorney General. His major appointments reads like a “Who’s Who In The Swamp”. Seriously?
She also stood and changed parties, as have MANY Democrats. STILL, it comes down to WE, THE PEOPLE to make the final call on HOW we are governed! Or am I sucking eggs thinking like musicman44mag in thinking of Kristi Noem?
Kristi Noem seems good! She has demonstrated that she is pro-2A and pro-freedom. The latter, by fighting mask mandates and forced vaxxing in her state.
Woha. I apologize, I thought we were talking about Kristi Noem, my error, error, error, must sterilize. Tulsi is an avid anti gunner that is why I don’t want anything to do with her and it pisses me off that FOX is pushing her like the did the wizzard of oz. Sorry, my mistake.
Not a problem, Music Man. One clue is “from Hawaii”. I don’t know if there is anyone living in HI who likes guns. I don’t think there is anyone in political office in Hawaii who likes guns.
I know what you mean. When I was working for the state of kommiefornia, there were three people that wanted to move there because they hate guns and they thought it was great that they wont give out permits. I say great!!!!! All of you anti gunners that don’t support the constitution, go to Hawaii. We don’t want you here and they would love to have you.
I know. I see shadows and black helicopters (along with balloons) everywhere – and on each one, a Klaus Schwab symbol. Yikes.
Yes, and ALL OF US are graduates of the class of 1791, so, what’s your point?
They would have done so much better if they had a farmer or other type that provided food to THE PEOPLE. Thank God what farmers have the balls to stay in the game as we banter over insignificant issues as they still, without fail, provide us food. As well as those that have to actually fight to provide us with clean drinking water, both of which would put us ALL out of business should they fail. So, WHO HAS THE POWER?
The question will ALWAYS remain, “What about ALL the good these people have done for those that could not do for themselves?” As well as, “What about ALL the good they have done for specific individuals that are so deeply focused on SPECIAL INTERESTS?” That being the poison in government. The, “It takes a village”, “Women’s Equality” and “It’s for the children” and all other like-type BS is what ripped this country apart as those seeking power, regardless of party, tugged on the heartstrings of America and lost focus of the fundamentals of governing.
“There are nearly 350,000 gun owners in the state of Florida.”
Really? Florida’s population is about 22 million. There are approximately 2 million active concealed carry licensees. Florida’s gun ownership rate is about 35% which equates to over 7.5 million gun owners. That 350,000 number most likely represents the NFA weapons registrations for the state.
And HB 543 is a terrible bill. I hope DeSantis can see through the establishment RINO’s shenanigans.
Outstanding. I saw that number (350,000) and thought “Wow – who wrote this”. Florida is like the 3rd or 4th most populous state – and only 350k gun owners? Maybe they were thinking about that other article regarding potheads and dope smokers getting to carry concealed etc…lol.
You need to relize that MANY out-of-staters grabbed the Florida NON-RESIDENT CONCEALED WEAPON AND FIREARM Permits because of BOTH options as well as the reciprocity, so be sure you are not adding those permits to the residential ones.
You guys missed the source of his error. The author(s) is apparently from a more restrictive state and calculating the numbers based on something called a “registered” gun… whatever that is.
Yeah, with 29 million citizens, I’d say with great confidence that we have exponentially more than 350,000 gun owners.
Though Gov. DeSantis can’t pass a bill, contrary to what this article says, he can certainly advocate for a better bill before he signs or veto’s it. If he really wants to show his 2A bona fides he should veto any inadequate legislation and return it to the legislature with the corrected language needed for signature. Anything less and he deserves to get his yin-yang reamed in the presidential primary.
“editor’s note, this 350,000 number more accurately represents the number of known registered guns (343,288) in the state of Florida.”
I see an apparent flaw in your calculations. I live in Florida… what’s a “registered gun”?
It would be “assumed” that if you have asked massa for permission to carry one, that you have one. In reality you are a registered owner. The nexus is obvious.
I believe his point is that we don’t have firearms registration in Florida.
No, you have owner of firearms registered in Florida. I refused to give my drivers license at a range in Sunrise years ago and was refused entry. They were using the information on the drivers license to REGISTER gun owners/users/possessors. If you have a PERMIT to carry one, most likely what you are carrying isn’t a rental.
That, or ones that have filled out paperwork or had a background check done to purchase one.
Chameleon Ron DeSantis is 2 faced and speaks out both sides of his face pandering for votes . Do not trust the reptile as he does not support constitutional carry or peoples second amendment rights .Ron DeSantis is just another communist Cuban posing as a conservative American
Yes, the skill of the professional politician!
Sad to say, most all American’s are communists posing as something else. COMMUNISM…AMERICAN STYLE!
“…He promised to pass and sign Constitutional Carry into law, permitting law-abiding Floridians to legally carry a firearm without special permission from the state.”
I am sure that it is just an overbite, but a statute “permitting” is permission from the state. Perhaps you meant returning law-abiding citizens to the Constitution.
I moved out of Florida in 1986. I was 21 in 1975. From the time I was 21 until I left Florida I carried a concealed handgun without a permit. I would have been considered a “felon” for doing so had I been caught. I was actually charged with a concealed weapon charge because I had a pair of “nuchuku’s” (karate sticks) under the seat of my car and it was searched against my objections by the officer who stopped me for not yielding to some ass that had cut in front of me at a stop light. Yes, a felon for obeying the constitution. Imagine that.
Carrying a concealed firearm became a felony in Florida during my lifetime. A friend told me about an old black guy they caught carrying one shortly after it was passed. They asked why he was carrying, didn’t he know it was a felony?
He told them he’d rather be caught with it than have THEM (meaning bad guys) catch him without it. They didn’t charge him.
He was lucky.
DeSantis is a RINO. Make no mistake. He will do what he can to appease the mass but not actually take a leap toward truly following the Constitution. He will settle for a compromise that only benefits himself. I like him for what he has done but he has not actually been put to the test. Pass 100% constitutional carry and then I might change my mind for a DeSantis/Gabbard ticket in 2024. I also hope Trump creates a true 3rd party “The MAGA Party” and “Fuks” both sides. Even if he does not win the White House back, he… Read more »
It seems awfully strange to call DeSantis a rino while advocating for Trump who has not only advocated for but actually enacted arms laws.
The article isn’t. The comment I replied to is. I’m fully aware of how DeSantis is a rino. That’s why I find it funny that the person commenting is fine calling out one rino but advocates for another. Trump didn’t just “suggest” something about bumpstocks. He directly ordered the DOJ to do something about them and they did which opened the door to the trigger bans and brace bans we’re now fighting. Trump also signed the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2018 which included a massive boost to the NICS which will force who knows how many people into a already… Read more »
Very few politicians are true friends of gun owners!
Just another liar. Trump for president and Kristi Noem for vice.
Well, isn’t that just a demonstration of the lunacy of the DOD? If these ‘spacepersons’?, creatures, had the ability to navigate here from somewhere else, we would not have the ability to shoot them down with anything of our known technology. They really are stoopid. Like Forrest said, ” I’m not the smartest man”………That just shows you what they think of the mentality of the average American citizen. We need to get rid of everything in the Biden Administration and start over and it all starts with HUNTER.
Ope, no surprize there by both the Pentagon and the DOA Joe Biden. I wonder how happy all those progressives are about his being Pres., now.
“No state shall convert a liberty into a license, an charge a fee therefore.” Murdock v. Pennsylvania, 319 U.S. 105 (1943). “If the State converts a right (liberty) into a privilege, the citizen can ignore the license and fee and engage in the right (liberty) with impunity.” Shuttlesworth v. City of Birmingham, Alabama, 373 U.S. 262 (1969).
I did call DeSantis’ office yesterday. I was on hold for 8 minutes in a 13 minute que, dumped, re-called, and talked to a nice lady in about 4 minutes.
PoIitician’s gonna poIitician.
Perfect is the enemy of good
Slogans are the tool of the intellectually lazy.
Says the person with a slogan… or was that supposed to be sarcasm? Sometimes it’s difficult to tell.
Exactly. It’s better to gain a step in the right direction than no movement at all… and much better than in the wrong direction. That’s how the gun grabbers keep trying to do it, nickel and diming their way through… “Nobody is going to take your guns… we just want to ban assault weapons.” (Which they can’t agree on an actual definition of.) The various “may issue state” restrictions” “Bump stocks are machine guns.” “FRTs are machine guns” “Nobody undue 21 should be able to purchase a (numerous examples).” Some of the various lies and rules that have been tried… Read more »
Think about all the Laws if it didn’t say “SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED” I hate politicians!!!!!!!!!!!
if i catch it for this so be it but we can’t let the perfect be the enemy of the good. you had the very good in Ron DeSantis VS. the extremely bad in Charlie Crist. who would you prefer?? sometimes we as gun owners just need to count our blessings. i am from WV but have family in florida and visit often and while i can carry nationwide as a retired LEO who stays qualified if i just had a CCW i could carry in florida but not my next door neighbor Maryland. my 2 cents for what its… Read more »
While I agree with most of what Governor DeSantis says, I keep in mind that he’s a Professional Politician. He’s doing what it takes to move up the ladder, but I believe he’s mostly advocating things that make the future look less bleak. We’re not going to get rid of Professional Politicians any time soon, so we need to work the system for our benefit, like the politicians do for themselves. I write letters to our elected officials, on average more than two per day, thanking them, chastising them, suggesting things, inviting them to see what’s really going on, and… Read more »
None the less, a politicians climbing the ladder by using their office power to do so, rather than executing the constitutional frame of government for the people, are not our friends.
For whatever he accomplishes in office, he first has to BE in office. One has to play politics to be in politics.
No, one has to be a CONTROL freak to be in politics. Normal people don’t want the job. Normal people just want to be left alone.
First thing the writer should get straight is there is “NO SUCH THING AS GUN REGISTRATION IN THE STATE OF FLORIDA” Where he got his numbers from is a Unknown BS! If one portion of your letter is false? Who can trust any of the rest?
Imagine that in a time of emergency that you, your family, friends and neighbors, all organize into a “neighborhood watch” MILITIA, to look out for one another and provide the only “emergency services” as you may have while government services are overwhelmed or otherwise unavailable. And then all of this life and liberty saving exercise of your 2nd Amendment American Heritage comes crashing to a halt (or is severely prosecuted afterwards with lots of arrests and potential felony convictions), because by simply “open carrying” while patrolling or standing guard to defend your homes and businesses and so forth, you’d be… Read more »
What is it about the Right that we continually trash each other? If you don’t want DeSantis, maybe you would prefer AOC? Idiots.
Young Americans for Liberty started in Austin, TX, a leftist hellhole. Then they moved to the Washington DC area, another leftist hellhole. That’s important for two reasons: 1, They aren’t from here, Creepy nationalists need to stop trying to impose their opinions on everyone else in the form of policy. 2, They aren’t in a position to criticize our State when we’re clearly more effective at fighting the left, that they can some how coexist with. Ron DeSantis isn’t a poser or a RINO. That kind of hysterical nonsense is how leftists think. If you aren’t ideologically pure enough knee… Read more »
He is so “pro gun”
Ya he appears to be a liberal in sheep’s clothing . Liberal gun grabbers are evil .
