This is not a deal. You can buy on Gun Broker all day long for considerably less with some dealers offering free shipping to your ffl dealer plus 3% CC fee.

I bought two of these ten or more years ago and then got
an lcp2 when it came out and finally an lcp max when it came out.
The original attraction other than it was a great size for a pocket
pistol was the price tag of 200 bucks back then. Since ruger
has made upgrades with the lcp2 and lcpmax, not sure why this
original has creeped up to 285 in price.

Pretty gun. Out of three of this model, I have one that is trustworthy. The other two, despite trips to Mayoden, NC for parts changing (no gunsmithing there), are still jamamatics. Interestingly, the one that does work was an original, purchased in 2008.

You have one more than I do that’s trustworthy. Bought one about 5 years ago and FTE’s abounded. Sent it back to the factory and when returned, the same problem. Sent it back for a new one. Same problem. 3 strikes and you’re out.

Hearing that, I feel downright lucky now. I had misplaced the original 2008 model and could not find it. I kept reading comments online by people who had these guns who said they never jammed, ever. I bought one more around 2018. If I got two shots per mag without a jam , I was doing good. Sent it to Mayoden for the usual “slide and/ or barrel change”. While it was away, I decided to chance buying another. Surely I would get one of those guns that never jam, wouldn’t I? The next was about as bad, certainly unacceptable… Read more »
