Taylor, TX — In a recent case highlighting the importance of the right to self-defense, a homeowner in Taylor, Texas, effectively protected his home from an armed intruder on Monday night. The suspect, 23-year-old Austin Sumpter of Thrall, was armed with a large knife inscribed with “Hail Satan” when he allegedly broke into the residence.

The self defense law in Texas, and most places with similar laws, allows one to use a level of force commensurate with the threat level one is facing.
