Gilbert, AZ –-(Ammoland.com)- South Carolina Representatives Mike Pitts and Bill Hixon have filed Knife Rights’ Knife Law Preemption bill, H.3115, and Indiana Representative Peggy Mayfield has also filed a Knife Rights Knife Law Preemption bill (we should have a bill number in the coming days).

These two bills are just the start of what we expect to be a record number of pro-knife Knife Rights’ bills that will be filed in coming weeks and months, building on Knife Rights’ unprecedented success to date with 15 bills passed in 11 states.

South Carolina already has pretty reasonable knife laws, but preemption prevents a patchwork of local ordinances more restrictive than state law which only serve to confuse or entrap law-abiding citizens traveling within or through the state. Preemption ensures citizens can expect consistent enforcement of state knife laws everywhere in a state. Knife Rights passed the nation’s first Knife Law Preemption bill in Arizona in 2010 and has since passed preemption bills in Georgia, Kansas, New Hampshire, Tennessee and Utah .

If you live, work or travel in South Carolina, please contact your Representative and ask them to support H.3115. Click here to locate your Legislator and/or the Legislator who represents where you work or travel.

As soon as we have a bill number in Indiana, we will let you know so you can contact your legislator.
