“Summer of Violence?”
Another deliberate high-speed vehicle-ramming of innocent pedestrians happened early last Saturday evening, this time in Vancouver, Canada.
Eleven pedestrians DOA, or dead at the scene. Three times that number injured, many critically. Most casualties were members of the local Filipino Community, assembled for an ethnic “street celebration.”
Perpetrator, an illegal immigrant, had “mental-health issues,” was well-known to local police, and should have long-since been institutionalized.
He was arrested at the scene.
This attack is very similar to the attack in New Orleans, LA, on early New Year’s Day this year. And, the casualty count is needlessly high for exactly the same reasons.
Local officials were completely unprepared!
As in New Orleans, hard “vehicle barriers, ” which were put in place to protect pedestrians at scheduled events like this, were conspicuously absent.
The best the local chief of police could do was immediately assure everyone, “… with confidence we can say that this was not an act of terrorism,” as if that dubious footnote magically makes all victims somehow less dead!
Does it really matter to anyone if this terrible attack was carried-out by a jihadist, or a local fruitcake? Apparently, we can all relax now that we’ve all been promised this attack was perpetrated by an “ordinary insane person,” from whom woke officials obviously have no intention of protecting us, any more than they do of protecting us from foreign terrorists.
Flanked by their heavily-armed, ever-present bodyguards, both the local chief of police, and mayor, subsequently admitted that this current incident “fits into a pattern of recent, random, violent attacks across the city,” but neither specified what they intended to do about it (other than further ramp-up their own, personal security).
Lessons:
1) The likelihood (through no fault/intent of your own) of running-into VCAs, be they jihadists, “ordinary felons,” or dangerous fruitcakes has never been higher, no matter where you live. These pernicious, demonstrated threats to public safety should be locked-up, but woke officials will never allow it. Liberal governments absolutely refuse to protect us from these threats, although as noted above (via the liberal use of taxpayer dollars) they take extreme measures to protect themselves. That cynical duplicity won’t change any time soon.
2) Large outdoor events/gatherings, particularly those with religious, political, and/or ethnic overtones, will continue to represent tempting targets for depraved murderers behind the wheel of motor vehicles. These events are good places from which to stay to stay far away!
3) A “Summer of Violence” is on the horizon! Frustrated leftists (who never shy-away from political violence), with encouragement, indeed endorsement, from Democrat/socialist politicians will look for ways to physically harm those whom they perceive at DJT-supporters, and “harm” can take many forms, from vandalism, to edged weapons, to impact weapons, to bullets, to explosives, to speeding vehicles, as we see.
My advice:
Don’t naively assume someone else is looking after your personal safety.
- Stay alert
- Stay low-profile
- Stay prudent
- Stay suspicious
- Stay dangerous!

“Si Vis Pacem, Para Bellum” If you want peace, prepare for war. Nothing has changed in 2000 years. Remember though, you NEVER shoot to kill, you shoot to stop the threat. Force, including shooting should always be your last resort. Remove yourself from the situation if at all possible is most desireable, be smart, be safe, avoid trouble.

Sad this is even a thing, “summer riots”, but pack and pray.
Even with a handgun the likelihood of shutting down the vehicle is not great before death or injury.
Deep carry is useless. It becomes a matter of risk assessment which most folks are unwilling to do. Play is the most important thing to them. The ability to move is critical and flip flops aren’t footwear for that. Having your senses is also critical which most don’t because they are high or drunk at these events. There comes a point where the flock is unprotectable.
No mention of articles that mentioned antifa taking over the Engineering building at Washington University this past week. Article said dozens of antifa, wearing black clothing , entered the building, used furniture to block doors, and chaining doors, meanwhile, outside the building, more antifa pushed dumpsters into streets and set them on fire, and placed bicycle racks in the streets to block police cars and fire truck’s. IMOA, steer clear of any known protests, find an alternative route should you encounter an unknown protest, be aware of crowd reactions possibly coming towards you, like rapid movements, running and screaming etc.
Stay armed. Carry extra ammo. Carry concealed because surprise works both ways. Keep your eyes open. The further away you see trouble the more time you have to deal with it. If anything “feels” wrong it likely is. People have a “sense” about bad things if you will learn to listen to it. Keep your head out of your cell phone. This makes you an easy target.
