Washington, DC – -(AmmoLand.com)- The Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation’s Board of Directors recently elected three new members: Tom Hornish, COO of the Outdoor Channel; Melissa Simpson, VP of Policy and Regulatory Affairs at PAC/WEST; and Paul Miller, Chairman of Freedom Group.

Tom Hornish (BIO) is Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel of the Outdoor Channel and a well known individual in the outdoor industry who has helped the network promote the traditional outdoor activities that are a vital part of our national heritage including fishing, hunting and shooting sports.

“It’s important that the time-honored traditions of sportsmen and the continued management and conservation of our precious natural resources and wildlife remains front and center in Washington DC. I am truly honored and feel privileged to participate in CSF’s efforts to do just that,” said Hornish.

Melissa Simpson (BIO) is Vice-President of Policy and Regulatory Affairs at PAC/WEST and has served the conservation community for several years working with leaders across the federal government and the wildlife conservation community while at the U.S. Department of the Interior, and most recently at the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

“I am sincerely honored to be elected to the CSF board of directors,” said Simpson. “We have a lot of work to do in the 111th Congress and beyond, and CSF is in a great position to further the sportsmen’s agenda.”

Paul Miller (BIO) is Chairman of the Board of The Freedom Group, whose companies include Remington Arms, Bushmaster Firearms, Marlin, DPMS/Panther Arms and H&R1871.

“What a fantastic opportunity for me to make a difference in our industry. Knowing the integrity and effectiveness of the CSF staff and its board members, I am very thankful to begin serving this organization in this capacity,” said Miller.

“CSF is fortunate to have Tom, Paul, and Melissa join the organization as they will continue the exceptional work of our board. We have worked closely with all three of them in the past and their work has been invaluable in increasing our role as the leader in organizing state and federal legislators to promote a pro-sportsmen’s agenda,” said CSF President Jeff Crane.

About:
We can have the best wildlife habitat imaginable and a record number of people who buy fishing and hunting licenses, but it won’t matter if misguided laws and regulations are made at the federal and state levels that negatively impact our outdoor traditions. Keeping sportsmen’s issues front and center is what the Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation does. Day in and day out, our sole focus is on providing a voice for sportsmen in the political arena. Serving as the first line of defense in protecting America’s outdoor traditions as well as promoting the sportsmen’s agenda through the collective muscle of sportsmen’s caucuses.
