Marietta, OH --(Ammoland.com)- Caron Forensics introduces an electronic lock option for its Rapid Access Defense (RAD) wall-mounted and mobile gun cabinets.

The electronic lock is available for all 2 ft. and 4 ft. cabinets, including RAD2 (Model 6162), RAD4 (Model 6184), Mobile RAD2 (Model 6183) and Mobile RAD4 (Model 6185). The new lock is a 10-button numeric keypad and user codes are four or eight digits long.

“Several customers have called us with enthusiasm over our unique, quick access gun cabinet design, but many have requested an electronic alternative to our standard key lock,” said Bob Dotterer, Director of Engineering. “We are very excited to now offer our customers another option for accessing their RAD cabinet.”

The new lock incorporates key features that users appreciate with this product line: it is easy to operate and has built-in intelligence to prevent battery failure.

The lock, available as LOCK102, is factory installed and incorporates Caron’s patent-pending and nearly impenetrable cabinet design: a three-point locking system, which will tighten if pried upon, and gas springs, which deploy once unlocked so both hands are free to access firearms inside. Inside the cabinet, our dual-rail system and clip-on accessories secure your weapons into place on the rails so once unlocked, your weapons are ready to access in the exact position you need them in case of an emergency.

“RAD’s are ideal for those who are concerned with storing their weapons safely out of reach of both friendlies and potential home intruders,” Dotterer said. “Our customers appreciate the solid construction and security of the RAD system.”

RAD cabinets have a stealthy design, are easily concealed and can be disguised to resemble something else, such as an electrical box. Typical safes and gun boxes are easy to identify, making it difficult for gun owners to secure their weapons from children and from intruders. RAD’s are the ultimate storage cabinet for a wide variety of rifles, shotguns, AR’s, handguns, clips, ammunition, tactical accessories, knives and more.
