Manasquan, NJ --(Ammoland.com)- Any fan of classic American weaponry is familiar with Browning’s famous Colt M1911 semi-automatic pistol and its .45 ACP cartridge.

Perhaps the most famous U.S. sidearm since the Colt Peacemaker, the M1911 achieved immortality as it accompanied GIs through two world wars.

In active service for over 100 years, the M1911 remains the weapon of choice for millions of soldiers, LEOs and private citizens, prized for its rugged durability and stopping power.

A fitting tribute to the Colt M1911 is this .45 ACP Silver Bullet bullion and Gainesville Coins along with AmmoLand Shooting Sports News are giving away 5 silver bullet to five lucky subscribers.

A near-exact replica of an actual .45 ACP cartridge, this Silver Bullet is rendered in 1 troy ounce of 99.9% pure, solid silver. Each Silver Bullet is individually turned on a CNC lathe to extremely close tolerances, then polished and weighed to guarantee the 1 troy oz (480 grain) weight. While the 1.275″ x .476″ dimensions of the inert .45 ACP Silver Bullet may be close enough to chamber into your Colt 1911, we wouldn’t recommend it. It’s better used as a conversation piece and for protection against currency devaluation.

    3. Speaking of starting a conversation I wonder if the TSA will confiscate these if you happen to have one on your person while traveling?
