Chatsworth, IL -(AmmoLand.com)- In a few hours it will be 2016.

2016 will be a pressure- packed year for gun owners. We got a glimpse of things to come in the partnership between Michael Bloomberg and the National Basketball Association (NBA).

The Bloomberg/NBA partnership does not exactly attack gun owners or gun ownership. It attacks “gun violence”. We are all against gun violence, however, this is only the first phase of the Bloomberg/NBA campaign. I think Bloomberg’s plan is a lot more devious. I believe the next phase will lead the uneducated to believe that the way to stop “gun violence” is to limit the Second Amendment Rights of law abiding gun owners. The agreement opposing gun violence will be twisted, and soon Bloomberg will be putting words in gun owners’ mouths they never said or ever wanted to say. We can expect to have more such activities for Mr. Bloomberg.

2015 is on track to be a record year for firearm sales. As of the end of November there have been 19.7 million background checks. That is 775,000 more than any other year. While background checks do not mean each one of those ends up in a firearm sale, it is a good indicator. In Illinois there have been record background checks since Thanksgiving. Many of you who have purchased a firearm during this period have suffered extended waiting periods. Part of this problem is because the National Instant Check system (NICS) has been overwhelmed. In Illinois the average number of background checks is about 400 per day. Since black Friday, the Illinois State Police have had between 2000 – 2600 per day. A substantial increase. This phenomenon seems to be true across the country.

The question of course, is why are there not MORE ISRA members?

2016, as I have mentioned, is going to be a pressure packed year. I expect nothing but endless attacks on our gun rights, Including Executive orders from President Obama. One thing we all must be careful of is winning the battle and losing the war. The greatest weakness we have is people who think the war is over and they drop the ISRA or NRA membership. Those days are gone, if the Second Amendment is to survive, NOT ONLY must we hold our numbers, those numbers MUST grow, and grow quickly.

Here are your suggested 2016 gun owner’s New Year’s resolutions:

1. I resolve to make every member of my family an ISRA member.
2. I resolve to recruit one new ISRA member each month.
3. I resolve to vote in the Primary and General Election (get registered if you are not).
4. I resolve to get more training.
5. I resolve to see that ALL of my family gets firearm training.
6. I resolve to renew or upgrade my membership in the ISRA

Happy New Year!

The Endless attacks on our gun rights come from sellouts like Richard Pearson and the hicks at ISRA. Take a look at Rep. Brandon Phelps HB183 “NRA backed” carry bill: An unelected Star Chamber Concealed Carry Licensing Review Board composed of three feds, a retired federal judge and a shrink, where any cop in IL can smear you with hearsay accusations which you cannot confront, and the standard of review is preponderance of the evidence, same as red light cameras. What has ISRA done to remove the Board? NOTHING. It provides full employment for lawyers, and thousands of people can… Read more »
