WA Governor Labels a Hundred Thousand Law-Abiding Constituents a “Destructive Force”

Washington, DC – -(Ammoland.com)- In a recent email to Washington voters, Governor Jay Inslee (D) called for more misguided gun control legislation and went so far as to call NRA members a “destructive force.”  The Governor is using law-abiding gun owners as a scapegoat for his failure to provide any practical solutions that would deal with crime and mental health issues in the state of Washington.

Current laws do NOT need to be “strengthened,” but they DO need to be enforced.

Currently, Governor Jay Inslee is circulating a petition in an attempt to generate public support for even more gun control.  In 2014, the NRA argued that piling Initiative 594, a notably unenforceable law, on top of the preexisting and unenforced background check law was disingenuous.

From the beginning, I-594 was only going to burden law-abiding gun owners. Now that the Governor has realized this and the shortcomings of his Administration’s promises, he intends to double down and use the Obama/Bloomberg playbook to place even further restrictions on the Second Amendment rights of Washingtonians.

Members and Second Amendment supporters are urged to call Governor Jay Inslee and politely urge him to stop attacking law-abiding citizens with more unnecessary and unenforceable gun control and to dial back the inflammatory and inappropriate rhetoric.

The problem is that the hundreds of thousands of gun owners don’t vote with 80 million gun owners in this country there shouldn’t be any liberals in public office.

I contacted the Governor’s office immediately following and alert sent to me by the NRA. A very nice woman answered the phone and I described the email purported to have come from the Governor’s office (in very neutral terms). The woman was clearly exasperated by this email and the resulting outcry stating that she had been receiving a LOT of calls about the email and assured me that this did NOT come from the Governor’s office. I don’t know whether the Governor did author the email and he and his office now seek to deny ownership, or if this is… Read more »

Yes, because the constitution is simply a set of recommendations…..

His office received my letter on Thursday regarding this. It is just another of a multitude of pushes here in WA state to infringe upon the rights of gun owners. There is a bill for a statewide “fee” of $.05 per round of ammunition, another attempting to ban “assault weapons” (various semi-auto rifles, shotguns, and handguns) and “high capacity” magazines (wanting to limit them to 10 rounds, for now), another bill to ban concealed carry in virtually all public places, another bill to mandate destroying confiscated firearms instead of selling them to offset operating costs, and another bill expanding a… Read more »

Yeah, I’d like to hang them by the neck until dead, too, but all of the politicians that are not following the U.S. Constitution are not committing a violent crime. And Treason is giving aid and comfort to the enemy during time of war. So… that isn’t really appropriate.
Why not create a new set of political crimes? Failing to follow the U.S. Constitution for instance, and if convicted by a jury of their peers, then they are barred from holding office of any kind.

For all those out there that would disarm the people, you can also disarm your security details as well, if you are so afraid of the people having a gun then you are afraid of you security having guns as well. Benjamin Franklin said it best “Any society that gives up a little liberty for security deserves neither and shall loose both”. That is where we are headed the government is afraid of the people having guns and many people want the government to make them safe, well too bad the only person that can make you safe is you,… Read more »

It boils down to the FACT that the act of casting a ballot for ANY Democrat is casting a ballot for that person to remove one, or more, of your Freedoms at some time in the future. These people are NOT connected with reality, and have an agenda that leads to some unrealistic “Utopia” where everyone breathes pure oxygen, laced with gold dust; and farts incense-flavored gusts into a world of freebies for anyone who chooses the life of a couch-potato, at the expense of those dumb enough to provide slave labor to the all-powerful, Almighty Givernment! They cannot live… Read more »

Another government official who is talking about taking guns away from law abiding people while he hides behind his paid for body guards who by the way is paid for by us law abiding people. If every one of those idiots had to be on there own and not have those body guards who by the way carry guns and are paid for by us law abiding people they would be not so hot wanting to take our rights away. I wish those idiots would have to protect them selves and they would see just how much they would have… Read more »

Try hi for Treason, find him guilty. Hang him publicly. Legally. Watch the political wind do an about face.

John Coville

We should start DEMANDING Treason charges against ALL politicians pushing anti-Second Amendment agendas. Try them, find them guilty, and publicly hang them. Legally. We would see an amazing about face by the rest of our public servants after the first 4 or 5 swing from the gallows.

As a Washington state resident I HAVE to argue with idiot Inslee. All firearms owners in the state MUST do the same. ‘When I feel the heat I see the light’ – former U.S. Senator Everett Dirksen.

Don’t waste your time arguing with an idiot !

Law abiding gun owners may be a “Destructive Force” against this nitwit’s Progressive vision of unfettered government power. What’s wrong with that?

Do these guys honestly think that more paper laws are going prevent a criminal from using a weapon?

I don’t know about you guys, but I would rather protect myself as opposed to depending on a paper law.
