Barbecue and Guns go together like Peanut Butter and Jelly, what could be more Merica than slapping a properly spiced beef brisket on a fiery grill and bragging about your latest firearms acquisition with your buddies? To that end, Our Very Special Guest on Episode 559 BBQ Pitmaster Big Moe Cason of Des Moines Iowa was a great get. Joining Big Moe on the Podcast were Will Beattie of Bear Creek Cattle Company (Will knows more than a little something about raising cattle a very essential ingredient in BBQ) and Roy Hill of Brownells to drop some Industry knowledge on us. Moe Cason is an award-winning self-taught BBQ chef, Navy Veteran and Contestant, Judge, and Star on Destination America’s Pitmaster’s and BBQ Pit Wars. He was also a judge on the show “SMOKED”. Our show is usually two hilariously entertaining hours long, starting promptly at 7 pm Eastern time and ending around 9 pm. With our guests beaming in from their homes and business around the country, and we always have a lively audience adding to the mix on YouTube. We don’t really plan out our conversation, usually allowing the subject matter to flow naturally, however, we do try to break the show up into six twenty-minute sections (which mostly never works out perfectly) However to give you some flavor of the conversation here we’ll go ahead and break the show down into six rough segments.
[First 20] Moe Cason Delved into his background, having grown up in Iowa learning the magic and camaraderie often associated with feeding a fire and family whilst tending a Barbecue grill. His time in the Navy, having served on the USS Missouri (coincidently nicknamed “Big Moe”) and how he came to fame on the Food Network and found the warm embrace of the Gun Community we all call home.
[Second 20] Roy Hill, Public Relations Expert from Brownells Inc., took over the second part of our conversation turning our discussion towards the recent revelations of gun sales continuing to break records in America. With over Seven Million estimated firearms purchases having being made this year so far. Roy filled us in on what was selling most and what is still available at Brownells.
[Third 20] Are We Currently In A Meat Shortage? The third section of the podcast finds us going over the run on toilet paper, Prepping and why the cost and availability of Meat could be the next crisis we face? On this subject Will Beattie of Bear Creek Cattle Company had some very valuable knowledge to impart to us.
[Fourth 20] Who Knows someone personally that has tested positive for Covid-19? This section of the show we turned to the often asked question of wether or not this is a real crisis or just a thinly veiled attempt of our leaders and media to garner more control over us?
[Fifth 20] Can We Talk BBQ? Perhaps the most delicious section of our podcast as we finally roll around to talking tips and tricks of the trade with BBQ Chef Big Moe. We discussed how he started winning so many Cook-Off’s and Pit Wars?
